God love you, Dom. ☺ Having been terrorised as a child, you have forged ahead and faced so many fears to be a homesteader. It's a testament to your faith and just look at you now. The girl from the projects is a wife, mum, teacher, cook/baker, homesteading guru and faithful servant to The Lord. His plan for our lives is something truly wonderful. 💝
I’m over here busting a gut with you talking about your reaction to the pests. People don’t understand the city life. And it kills me that they call them palmetto bugs down here; they are absolutely gigantic roaches (waterbugs). At least in the city I knew what to expect and what to avoid. Still learning here. 😂😂😂 Thanks for sharing the ups and downs of how you got to success. Very inspiring. Rooting for you to lead the Black homestead and garden community! We need more of us showing and teaching both the experience and science. 🙏🏽
😂😂 Yes ma’am I’m from IL and now live in Ga and those big roaches Looooord Jesus I ain’t built for em. I will TAKE OFF running still. Been here 7yrs. And when they flutter their wings 💀✌🏽City girl out!
You sound so much like me. Scared of chickens, scared of bugs, scared of snakes. I can totally relate to your channel. I was so scared of the worms I didn’t even pic my tomato. I let the worm had them. Even with the homestead, boy do I have a story to tell. I know how you felt wanting it and finally getting it and being thankful for what God has blessed you with
Love yall story as young melenated adults who are breaking generational curses leaving the toxic urban matrix of babylon and homesteading this is whats needed in melenated tribes throughout this country am 53 and learning so much from you guys ,Ase
All praises to the Most High… We can’t see down the road… But He can see around all the curves.. over the hills and down in the valley… He led you and guided you to where you are .. but what we don’t think about is what He helped us to avoid… what He kept us from to get us to..
Wish you were closer, so much I would like to show you. First when you are washing your veggies put some table salt in the water. A sink full of water maybe a fourth of a cup of salt. Soak your lettuce, cabbages and any other buggy veggies. The salt will draw the bugs out. Then when you are done just soak and swish them in fresh water ( with no salt this time). Do this a couple of times just to make sure all dirt and bugs are gone. Put clean bath towels on your counter and put wet veggies on these to dry. I live in Michigan, I wish your family was next door. I could show you cooking, gardening, quilting beginning sewing and many other things. Give yourself grace. No one is good at anything when they first start. It is all just a learning process. I wish you the best of everything 💕
I would have been of my last nerve about 1 month after the house sold! You are a determined young woman and you're making a good life for your children. I'm glad you found the right partner that makes life so much more doable. I wish all of you many happy years ahead.
I have to tell you that you are a blessing! ❤️ You have grown in so many ways. Your message about the benefits of healthy and healing foods is one that I want to dedicate the rest of my life to spreading. Every time you continue to give God the glory, I know He will continue the work He has begun in you! 🙏
You are amazing Dom. I suspected that this lifestyle was outside your upbringing, but to come from the projects to a homestead !?!?!. Also living in an RV with 4 kids a spouse and a giant dog. I lived alone in a camper with a dog and that was too crowded. Keep it up, you and your family are the perfect example of good things eventually coming to good people!
i AM SO PROUD OF YOU! I understand your story. I was born and raised in the Marcy Project, Brooklyn, NY. I too had no concept of living with animals. I was a NYC Police Officer. One of the first Women in uniform. I was the first Black Montgomery County Deputy Sheriff in the history of Montg. County, Maryland. Never afraid of crime, criminals etc. I am now 74 yrs old and love living in Martinsburg, WV!!! I love it but I am afraid of everything!!lol. But this is the life I love!!! thanks for sharing your story.
You are a beautiful soul. Everything you fee when caring for animals, I felt and still do sometimes. If I’m late feeding the chickens they can be really mean and aggressive. I’m nervous about the rabbits. I have watched tons of dispatch videos for when that time comes for the rabbits, but I know I will be nervous to do it. I remember learning to cull meat birds and teaching my husband. It is never easy because they are living creatures but we know God has Blessed us with the ability to have them, care for them and nurture our family with them. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing your story. You are such an inspiration! My goal is to build a backyard homestead this year, and I have enjoyed watching you garden. You have taught me so much ❤️
Hi Dom, thanks for sharing, you have an amazing journey and you have come along way. I grew up in the projects as well so I feel you with the being new to the garden situation you have so inspired me I only have a back yard and last year was my first attempted to grow something. You are such an encouragement to others as a testament of the goodness of Gods faithfulness, you hung in there! No you are funny when I watch you with the creepy bugs ,,, you should see me and I use grow bags just don’t like those garden snakes and creepy crawling bugs! This was so refreshing to hear the whole journey, thank you I’m learning so much about gardening from watching your videos and canning and making bread this is all new to me as well! You are doing it!
I was so afraid to eat the cantaloupe I grew in my backyard until some animal came in the yard and ate one of my cantaloupe, than my curiosity got the best of me, it was the best cantaloupe I ever had. Delicious and so sweet.
I see myself in you. I grew up in the projects in Nashville. I had four kids when we moved to the country in Texas, and I am still trying to learn how to do this. Thanks for the detail of this post. I’m a grandma now; in fact, my oldest daughter is your age, but I can learn from you still since I am a lifelong student! Keep sharing your journey. You are helping all of us, and God is allowing us to be vessels in His kingdom.
From one sleep lover to another, here's something that helped me. I worked towards my naps. If I had to get up early I bargained with myself that as soon as I got XY or Z done, I could lay back down. Just helped get my head together, and to be honest, most days I never did end up laying back down. Looking back, getting more done felt better than any of the naps I missed.
Dom, your video came across my feed, and something compelled me to click on it. Your story is inspirational. I was born and raised in the Bronx and still here. I have been dreaming of my homestead for years. I became very sick and deep a deep dive into food and what we consume. Like you, i watched all those documentaties and changed the way I ate. We have a little garden in my house where we grow what I can until we move and have our real homestead.Thank you for sharing your story. God bless you on your journey and looking forward to seeing more videos.
Hello Dom. I just found your channel and I think the Lord steered me your way. You are amazing and I’ll be watching you from now on. Blessings to you & your family! ❤
Dom, you’re so inspiring! My story is similar, lived in town growing up, scared of everything that creep and crawl, I’m 69, just starting gardening and trying my hand at raising chickens and doing very well! Had to get over my fears and just go for it. Now I love it, love getting back to nature and appreciate it! Love you’re videos!
Wow what a fascinating story!! This is a true example of perseverance and determination! It's so awesome to see where you are now! Kudos to you for seeking truth and leading your family on this path! ❤️
I enjoyed listening. I think you’re incredible. I gave my three kids a life completely opposite of mine. They were able to be kids. I see that with you as well. We are all night owls as well. For me I can’t stand bugs. I really try lol. Spiders are the absolute worst. Those tomato horn worms. Nope! The whole branch gets cut off 😂 You’re right. They joy definitely outweighs the fears. Happy birthday to your daughter.
Thanks for sharing I think you are so brave and faithful to God’s plan even when you didn’t know if it would happen the way you prayed that it would. You’re right everything for His glory and you are right where He wants you to be just in His time. God bless❤
Obviously you don't know me at all so this might not mean anything to you but I just want to say that I am absolutely so proud of you for making this video. "Gardening scared" you are amazing!💖💖 May God-bless you and keep you always
This testimony really gave me the the holy spirit feels today!! You are doing this even when it’s scary and takes a different type of discipline! You are rocking it Dom!!!
Dom thanks for your candor. Your road to homesteading wasn’t easy but god blessed you and now your able to share your homesteading experiences with us❤
What an encouraging story, thank you! I too homestead with my family and our story is very similar, mine was a year of looking, and staying with family. I was sick for many years in and out of hospitals with a tracheostomy I was in my 30s. Now in my 40s, My homestead healed me, and continues to bless my family and me… God bless you and your beautiful family. You all inspire ❤
Beautiful, beautiful content! I wish I had saved my first morning cup of coffee for this. I was absolutely mesmerized. It's official, I have adopted you. Wish I could hit that like button 1000X Lol.
Dom, you are amazing. You have overcome so much to get where you are. You are a wonderful example of what a determined person can do if they want to and are proactive. I have learned so much from you. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your story. I don't love bugs either... Like at all. Ain't no "oh most spiders are harmless" as far as I'm concerned. But you definitely have to get over it to garden and homestead 🤣
Started this video a couple days ago, got side tracked and came back tonight to finish the video which i rarely do. I’m glad i did. I am wanting to find my own homestead and have been having serious doubts about my abilities. I’m learning to let go and let God. I am so not a morning person and honestly most of my gardening is done after 7/8 pm after work. 😅 snakes also terrify me and many others. Your testimony is much appreciated and is showing me that I can do this. Thank you for sharing
You and your story is amazing. I have grown up with gardening and animals. So these things come naturally. I can't imagine how hard this dream is for you. I am the mama that teached her children how to catch snakes. My heart and love goes out to you.
Thanks for sharing your journey of faith 🙏🏼 My husband is from Brooklyn NYC. We live in Virginia and are beginning steps to getting a place. Starting from the bottom right now, but God will see us thru 🤗
I'm glad you were transparent like this. This is my first year and I'm praying I don't go through being scared to eat the food I grow. I'm terrified of bugs too.
Thank you for sharing. I am a city girl and moved to Texas. We don’t have land but I have a backyard that we are homesteading. It’s a challenge and this video is encouraging . 😊
This is not my official comment, but I had to pause it to chuckle at the dinosaur chicken comment! 😂 I am about to get chickens for the 1st time and I’m pretty sure I’m never going to forget that visual in my head! 😊
Coming from a family that was poor as well I had no clue about food either. I’ve learned a lot since then especially from watching you and others here. I can’t believe how bad the dyes are for us ugh. Love and prayers from Canada 🇨🇦
I just stumbled on your channel. Wow, what am inspiration! God Bless you and your family. What a beautiful legacy you're forging for your children. They are blessed to have you as their mom!
It’s crazy how many similar behaviors we have. I messed up in the garden last year because the spiders scared me off. Whewwww it’s a struggle but watching you makes me stronger. I will push through. I also felt the same way when I started eating the food I was growing. I went through an ewwww phase, knowing about the poop, pee and bugs lol
You really are Heaven sent...this is why I watch your videos from beginning to end...the wisdom, the life lessons, a masterclass every time. Thank you sis 💚💚💚💚
Wow in so impressed, and have mad respect for you your family and story. Like your husband I was born in New Orleans and have been cooking since I could see over the stove lol ,ok maybe a little exaggeration but not much👍😊. We are on the Mississippi gulf coast now after I had to return to the country from the Philippines. You are both so young and so much life ahead of you. You and your family will do great things I'm sure. God bless you all😊🙏❤️👍 !!! Learn how to make a good roux and that's about the most complicated thing about Cajun, creole, and french cuisine👍. Most old fashioned folks only make a roux with flour and bacon fat. I always make mine with real butter. It browns up alot quicker and easier to control without burning. If your roux does burn throw it away and start over or everything you put into it will have that scorched taste.
With God’s help and your determination, you did it. I was raised on my father’s 110 aces farm. It was hard for me to adjust to a garden after I retired from work, 67 yrs old, still love my gardens. We called them fields back in the day etc corn fields, watermelon patch, okra field, cotton fields, turnip green field etc.. thanks for sharing God bless
We do our best garden work in the evenings here in Georgia 7b. I try to do some stuff in the morning, but my husband works, and evening works for us. The hardest part is eating dinner at 10pm on those late summer nights! It is fantastic that your kids are thinking of ways to become entrepreneurs on y'all's homestead. Count those as homeschool hours!
1 more thing :) ! Possible tip for getting out to garden earlier next season, if , like me, just getting outside makes a huge difference : Grab cup of coffee or whatever, even b4 breakfast maybe, and just step out. Tell yourself u don't have to DO anything out there, just stand around near door, or walk over n look at garden. Breathe the fresh air, get the sunshine in your eyes /on face (it actually wakes/energizes us). Then, IF you won't get stuck inside again, eat breakfast, get dressed then head out again. Sit while or walk to let food settle or do standing jobs at 1st. If one can drink some bone broth or have only water, one can wait to eat breakfast until after a few hours of work. I always used to on our dairy farm ( grew up usually doing that, & thought it was weird to eat if one hadn't worked for a few hours 1st, the way town people did ! ). I am more of a morning person but for many reasons our schedule had been late on our farm b4 I got married and then since, as my husband was NOT a morning person and often had 2nd shift jobs. So, I also struggle and have those regrets in summer, even tho it's not as hot here. It's still a huge difference between pleasant to a roasting sunshine, by 9 or 10 am. !
Hello Dom.. thank you for your story.. Your whole family including you have overcome a BIG milestone in your lives!! The researching and learning what foods are good for you and your family and what's not... Learning how to grow your food, in your area as well. Not giving up and recognizing the task and obstacles you and your husband endured with losing jobs, not being encouraged about having a place of your own without enough work but TRUSTING IN THE LORD!! AMEN!! He will stay with you, and show you the way.. Look at you all.. I am very proud of you learning how to cook, bake, and canning your own foods, that is AWESOME!!! Overcoming slowly, of fears of animals and some bugs too.. I have that fear just like you, I had to get out here and face it.. smh.. I am terrified of snakes! and I'm going to be really nervous, going out to our new homestead facing that in the country.. Help me Lord on that one.. but I was scared of worms!! Man... I was running in and out of the house, as if this worm can chase me.. lol.. but I was scared.. I over came it.. so I feel you on a lot of the creepy crawly things.. the rabbit scare you have etc.. I feel you, and going to be in the dark and wonder what animal is out there!! I will be getting some more dogs lol.. You have a good support system.. the dogs, husband, son, to protect you and your girls.. thank you again for the video. Happy Birthday baby girl too.. just precious.. have a great day.. GREAT ACCOMPOLISHMENTS!!
Thank you so much for sharing your testimony! I'm so sorry for not watching this sooner. So many people don't listen to the signs food (good and bad) have on us. There are so many similarities in our stories. My husband and I sold our home in December 2019 to travel in our motorhome to find a new home as well. As you know, covid changed our plan too. You are leaving such a legacy for your children. I love seeing the girls in your videos being your helpers. Again, you are awesome and make me smile. Be blessed 💕.
It was great hearing your back story! It explains a lot. I grew up helping in my mom’s garden, but when I started my own I didn’t realize how many bugs I had to deal with. It creeped me out too. After I started learning about the different types of bugs and which were helping me in the garden, then the good bugs didn’t bother me anymore. It took me a while to just grab off the bad bugs and kill them, with my garden gloves on, of course. I too was never a morning person. I’d get out in the garden around 11 or 12 with the sun burning me up. I’d have sweat poring off me. Finally, I forced myself to get up by 7 and made it out by 9. It was nice and after a couple of weeks I’d be out in my garden by 7:30. I was done by 11. The rest of my day was open to do other things. It will come to you, it just takes time changing the morning routine, but you’ll get there. You are doing great with your children and teaching them all the life skills they need in this life! You are absolutely right about how God teaches us in our waiting. You said it perfectly! All that waiting and going through so much has turned into a blessing for your family. Keep the faith and keep up all you do!
@@faithfamilyhomestead I have complete confidence that you will! You have come a long way and you have dreams for your family homestead. You got this lady!!!
I’m soooo excited to keep following your channel and see where God takes you!! I’m recovering from another surgery so will be keeping up!! The first time I saw your first video I knew this wasn’t your comfort zone but was immediately drawn to your good vibes and how your children were helping you. I make my children help me also and I swear people act like it’s child abuse to expect your children to contribute to the household and food supply. You are a worker Dom!! Look at all the things you have accomplished already!!!!
Hello, thank you for sharing. I have homesteading dreams and I’m from Brooklyn. I’ve never lived in anything other than an apartment building and it is inspiring to see that you came from a similar area and are doing all of these things. May God continue to bless you and your family!
Made it all the way to the end!😊 You and your family are amazing! I know my channel name has Homestead in it, but I am no way on your level! It's still MY homestead! Flowers and produce garden! Thank you again for sharing your story! There is a reason and season for everything! Keep following your dreams! I enjoy your content! Blessings
❤️ I desire to homestead one day & the idea was just laid on my heart, probably last yr. I never liked bugs & have always been terrified of worms, but I'm determined to grow my garden yr after year. I enjoy your channel & anticipate your uploads.
My number one advice to anyone that wants to get into gardening for the first time especially in the ground in their yard is to always keep a long handled gardening hoe with you or something of that fashion to be able to deal with snakes or pest ,but it's always good to get a field guide for your area like the American field guide for the southeastern United States in your case like I am. It will tell you all of the flora and fauna native to your area including snakes and any other potentially harmful pest or animals along with birds and poisoness plants. I want to know all snakes in my area because you don't really want to kill them all even if that's your first feelings lol. I was taught as a child for every nonpoisonous snake you kill their is the potential for to poisoness ones to replace it. If at all possible just try to relocate them off of your property away from your children and animals.
I live in Southern California, and rattlesnakes are not to be messed with, but when my husband brought home a King snake, I told him to go put it straight in my garden (after he got done terrorizing the kids with it). It was beautiful AND beneficial!
I love this DOM and I'm afraid as you are and when I see you jumping, I just think about myself because I jump anytime i see a lizard or anything flying and crawling BUT I LOVE WHEN YOU SAID DO IT AFRAID GOD BLESS YOUR ENTIRE HOUSEHOLD
I really enjoyed this video Dom, 🤗 I have been watching your videos since early last year and have been so impressed and encouraged by your determined spirit! You are a smart woman and an amazing mother! I have seen you jump at the creepy bugs but have a deeper appreciation for your strength for just doing it anyway “even scared” I think we expect to have all the answers when we try to do something new and that is very unrealistic! Life and living a homesteading lifestyle is full of unpredictable challenges but to see how far you and your family have come in such a short time is a blessing! You guys work hard no matter what time you get up! So thanks for sharing this video, so happy that you were so comfortable and so funny! (You’re honestly cracked me up) God is so good and the fact that you are sharing that in every way is a blessing to all who get to come into your life! Continuing prayers for blessings on you and your family! 🙏❤️🤗
Everyone's backstory is so interesting ! When you mentioned green peas being the only other vegetable you really ate, growing up, I was wondering if these were canned.. ? If so, no wonder you didn't like them ! My mom grew up in a nice, modest little neighborhood in northern suburbs of Milwaukee in the 60s, a middle class family with some nice heirlooms, comfortable, but nothing otherwise too fancy. Her mom had hated vegetables as a child ( I don't know if those were primarily canned or what) and didn't like cooking much, and convenience foods were all the rage in the mid-century, so, she fed my mom ( & her brother) mostly canned vegetables. My mom grew up thinking she hated peas, but she'd only ever had them from a can. She discovered fresh and frozen peas in my Dad's family, who diary farmed (across the State here) and had a large garden for their large family. Mom never learn to pressure can however, as her MIL only water bathed canned & froze everything else, so that's all she taught my mom. I discovered that I far prefer the taste of canned green beans, so that's what I do, having learned to pressure can from our land-lady when 1st married, plus my own MIL did it. My mom did make basically everything from scratch, though at the time we still bought a lot of things like crackers, bread & hot breakfast cereals (like cream of wheat & Ralston ) - so, I actually had no idea how one made pancakes from a box...I thought they must have dried eggs and milk in there, but was confused how they did the oil - I'd never heard of dehydrated oil ! I learned when babysitting neighbors once, how it actually works, then wondered why people bothered to pay more, just for that ?! ( I do understand the saved steps & mess are handy sometimes, & if ai ever get around to it, may pre-mid my own :) ). My dad had/has some issues, on top of hard times on the farm, I was mostly always working on farm-related things (or sick or other health issues a lot), so, in teens & 20's I really had almost no further cooking lessons/experiences, & I ended up married with VERY little know-how in many areas of that. I could cook a roast with veggies etc., fry a burger or eggs, make some other very basic or plain things, and due to avoiding certain ingredients in them, wasn't using things like "cream of" soups for making casseroles anymore, and tried to improvise, but usually just made very plain stuff, or hard shell tacos which I grew up with and loved. Now, 15 years and lots of upheaval, many moves etc. later, I still don't know how to cook much, & am GF and dairy free ( due to actual reactions) so it's even more limiting, difficult or expensive, to make what others make. I don't have a lot of energy or patience to experiment, although I'm trying to learn to make a few Thai f dishes like Tom Yum, because we love it. So, plenty of us out here - eve who grew up on garden veg. and cooking from scratch, have a lot to learn as well, and you're probably far ahead of me in lots ! I'm 42 and still not on own homestead ( have owned a small place in the past, but had to move for family & work reasons a few times) & now with super high prices, & husband & I still struggling to get on top of health issues, it's been very scary, as I have trouble trusting God because I do, ultimately, but struggle extra w the here & now, because my Dad and our farm situation had been VERY difficult, traumatic and oft-abusive, and so I know how hard God may allow things to be in this life, and I'm just tired of it all, and scared, in spite of knowing I have & have had, SO much to be thankful for & truly thanking & praising Him every day. Appreciate prayers for me to feel His presence & love ! I hope we can all be there for each other, in faith and generosity, if times keep getting harder. Thanks for all you do to encourage others, if you're reading this ! Sorry so long ! PS : Yeah, those requirements for length at a job are a thing (were kinda strict even before covid here in WI ). My husband couldn't qualify due to having been at his job for less than a year, then switched back to his old company, and that was a commission-based-pay job, so then it became a 2 year thing ! And everything shot way up in price, and worse, are often truly overpriced, no way are they gonna stay at that valuation.. . But there are places that come along, prayerfully looking at one this week, it's a ways away but It's a potential great deal. As for snakes, anyone further south or west may not know this, but northern half of WI, excepting along the Mississippi or St. Croix river valleys, has no Poisonous snakes, and as far I know, any poisonous spiders or other creatures. Not having grown up with those, knowing how to handle it, watching out for them being 2nd nature, is a big part of staying in WI even though I dislike our cold extremes.
I love this channel! The work you’ve put in for you and your family is tremendous and I want to keep watching that symbiosis of all the things you’ve put in coming back to you
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful testimony. I am also nervous around animals and afraid of rodents. The Lord has blessed me with a little country cottage on a quarter acre of land, which I absolutely love. Maybe one day I'll have a homestead. Thank you for sharing your story of overcoming. May God continue to bless and keep you and your family ❤
Beautiful story. Thank you for sharing. Must say though scary as it probably was, the chicken chasing you looking like a baby dinosaur was pretty funny. I Pray only Gods best for you and your family. You’ve done an amazing job.
First I want to say .That I admire you so much and being a young Lady I'm so proud of you. That you took the walk of faith yes sometimes the waiting room we get strength and faith Grows so we can depend on him. Where he will get the Glory . I feel the same about bugs and stuff and I tell myself I have dominion to deal with the bugs. Love you Dom keep shining like a 💎. ❤️🙏🏿
🥰😆

Dom, do you and your family every just stand back and look at your homestead and say "we did that"? You guys are amazing!
I look at my animals sometimes and remember that this is what I prayed for and now its here ❤️

So sweet. Thank you 😊
I would have been of my last nerve about 1 month after the house sold! You are a determined young woman and you're making a good life for your children. I'm glad you found the right partner that makes life so much more doable. I wish all of you many happy years ahead.

It is never easy because they are living creatures but we know God has Blessed us with the ability to have them, care for them and nurture our family with them. Thanks for sharing
Butchering the rabbits was actually much cleaner and easy than chickens!!
Thank you for sharing your story. You are such an inspiration! My goal is to build a backyard homestead this year, and I have enjoyed watching you garden. You have taught me so much ❤️
You can do it!
You are such an inspiration. Look at the fears you have conquered for your family and yourself.
🥰
Hi Dom, thanks for sharing, you have an amazing journey and you have come along way. I grew up in the projects as well so I feel you with the being new to the garden situation you have so inspired me I only have a back yard and last year was my first attempted to grow something. You are such an encouragement to others as a testament of the goodness of Gods faithfulness, you hung in there! No you are funny when I watch you with the creepy bugs ,,, you should see me and I use grow bags just don’t like those garden snakes and creepy crawling bugs! This was so refreshing to hear the whole journey, thank you I’m learning so much about gardening from
watching your videos and canning and making bread this is all new to me as well! You are doing it!
Thank you!! 😊 it's definitely a learning process but so worth it
This was both deep and encouraging, deeply encouraging actually. Thanks for sharing and again I say... IT'S YOUR SEASON!!🙌🏽🙌🏽
🥰
I was so afraid to eat the cantaloupe I grew in my backyard until some animal came in the yard and ate one of my cantaloupe, than my curiosity got the best of me, it was the best cantaloupe I ever had. Delicious and so sweet.
🤣 that's amazing! Thanks for sharing
🥰
From one sleep lover to another, here's something that helped me. I worked towards my naps. If I had to get up early I bargained with myself that as soon as I got XY or Z done, I could lay back down. Just helped get my head together, and to be honest, most days I never did end up laying back down. Looking back, getting more done felt better than any of the naps I missed.
❤️🥰 thanks for the tips
Dom, your video came across my feed, and something compelled me to click on it. Your story is inspirational. I was born and raised in the Bronx and still here. I have been dreaming of my homestead for years. I became very sick and deep a deep dive into food and what we consume. Like you, i watched all those documentaties and changed the way I ate. We have a little garden in my house where we grow what I can until we move and have our real homestead.Thank you for sharing your story. God bless you on your journey and looking forward to seeing more videos.
Keep dreaming!! And doing all you can where you can 😊
Love your family’s history and how you all decided to homestead. You all are amazing. Continued blessings to your beautiful family ❤
Thanks lady!! 😊
Nice story. Nothing like raising food. It’s my whole life. I still shop at the grocery store but I’ve significantly lowered my bill. Blessings!
Thanks for sharing!!
Hello Dom. I just found your channel and I think the Lord steered me your way. You are amazing and I’ll be watching you from now on. Blessings to you & your family! ❤
😆 You're so kind. Thank you for being here
Dom, you’re so inspiring! My story is similar, lived in town growing up, scared of everything that creep and crawl, I’m 69, just starting gardening and trying my hand at raising chickens and doing very well! Had to get over my fears and just go for it. Now I love it, love getting back to nature and appreciate it! Love you’re videos!
That is awesome!
That gust of wind came put of nowhere. 😅 I love watching you and your garden. Definitely inspiring
Wow what a fascinating story!! This is a true example of perseverance and determination! It's so awesome to see where you are now! Kudos to you for seeking truth and leading your family on this path! ❤️
Thank you so much!
Thank you!! Definitely my goal to give them a different life
@@faithfamilyhomestead you’re doing an awesome job. They’re all so sweet
Thanks for sharing I think you are so brave and faithful to God’s plan even when you didn’t know if it would happen the way you prayed that it would. You’re right everything for His glory and you are right where He wants you to be just in His time. God bless❤
🙌🏾
Obviously you don't know me at all so this might not mean anything to you but I just want to say that I am absolutely so proud of you for making this video. "Gardening scared" you are amazing!💖💖 May God-bless you and keep you always
Awe, thanks so much 🥰
Thanks! You're a blessing to many!
You too!
This testimony really gave me the the holy spirit feels today!! You are doing this even when it’s scary and takes a different type of discipline! You are rocking it Dom!!!
🥰
🥰
Thank you for sharing. I am claiming my Homestead. It is what I've been praying for.
Definitely Keep praying !!!
Dom thanks for your candor. Your road to homesteading wasn’t easy but god blessed you and now your able to share your homesteading experiences with us❤
Very welcome
Very encouraging to me. I don't like creepy crawlers either but I am learning to garden. Thank you.
You can do it!
Omg. Dom, thank you so much for tell us your story. Amazing
Thanks for listening
What an encouraging story, thank you! I too homestead with my family and our story is very similar, mine was a year of looking, and staying with family. I was sick for many years in and out of hospitals with a tracheostomy I was in my 30s. Now in my 40s, My homestead healed me, and continues to bless my family and me… God bless you and your beautiful family. You all inspire ❤
Thank you for sharing! That is very encouraging ❤️
Beautiful, beautiful content! I wish I had saved my first morning cup of coffee for this. I was absolutely mesmerized. It's official, I have adopted you. Wish I could hit that like button 1000X Lol.
😁
Dom, you are amazing. You have overcome so much to get where you are. You are a wonderful example of what a determined person can do if they want to and are proactive. I have learned so much from you. Thank you.
Wow, thank you
Thank you for sharing your story. I don't love bugs either... Like at all. Ain't no "oh most spiders are harmless" as far as I'm concerned. But you definitely have to get over it to garden and homestead 🤣
🤣😂
Started this video a couple days ago, got side tracked and came back tonight to finish the video which i rarely do. I’m glad i did. I am wanting to find my own homestead and have been having serious doubts about my abilities. I’m learning to let go and let God. I am so not a morning person and honestly most of my gardening is done after 7/8 pm after work. 😅 snakes also terrify me and many others. Your testimony is much appreciated and is showing me that I can do this. Thank you for sharing
So glad you were encouraged! ☺️
You and your story is amazing. I have grown up with gardening and animals. So these things come naturally. I can't imagine how hard this dream is for you. I am the mama that teached her children how to catch snakes. My heart and love goes out to you.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing your journey of faith 🙏🏼 My husband is from Brooklyn NYC. We live in Virginia and are beginning steps to getting a place. Starting from the bottom right now, but God will see us thru 🤗
You can do it!
Awww, I love you even more after hearing your story. You are on a real sweet faith journey, enjoy, God never fails!
Thank you ❤️ He never will
Thank you for sharing Dom.
🕊💜🙏🏽💪🏽🌱🌱🌱
You're welcome 😊
I'm glad you were transparent like this. This is my first year and I'm praying I don't go through being scared to eat the food I grow. I'm terrified of bugs too.
You can do it! 😅
🤣 girl... they will run after you like a mini dinosaur 🦕
Coming from a family that was poor as well I had no clue about food either. I’ve learned a lot since then especially from watching you and others here. I can’t believe how bad the dyes are for us ugh. Love and prayers from Canada 🇨🇦
That's great!
I just stumbled on your channel. Wow, what am inspiration! God Bless you and your family. What a beautiful legacy you're forging for your children. They are blessed to have you as their mom!
Thank you so much!
🤣 them bugs on the lettuce sometimes don't want to come off
@@faithfamilyhomestead 😂😂😂
You really are Heaven sent...this is why I watch your videos from beginning to end...the wisdom, the life lessons, a masterclass every time. Thank you sis 💚💚💚💚
🥰
Thanks
@@faithfamilyhomestead your soooo very welcome😊 !!! Or as we say in the Philippines in Visayan 'Walay Sapayan😊'
I really enjoy your story. Thank you for sharing it. It’s my fav. Video of yours.
I'm so glad!
Dom you are such a joy to listen too. I really appreciate all that you share about homesteading and what a beautiful family you have.
Thank you so much!
I thought I was the only one who felt that way once it was time to harvest the food, and you see the bugs on it. I didn't want to eat it. 😊
🤣
With God’s help and your determination, you did it. I was raised on my father’s 110 aces farm. It was hard for me to adjust to a garden after I retired from work, 67 yrs old, still love my gardens. We called them fields back in the day etc corn fields, watermelon patch, okra field, cotton fields, turnip green field etc.. thanks for sharing God bless
My great grandma calls then field's as well 😁
Love your laughter... Love your story....
😆
Just came across your channel. So enjoying it!!
Welcome!!
Sharing is good, God bless you.
Thanks for visiting
Beautiful story. God’s timing is everything! May God continue to Bless your family♥️🙏🏾
❤ thank you
We do our best garden work in the evenings here in Georgia 7b. I try to do some stuff in the morning, but my husband works, and evening works for us. The hardest part is eating dinner at 10pm on those late summer nights! It is fantastic that your kids are thinking of ways to become entrepreneurs on y'all's homestead. Count those as homeschool hours!
Everything is homeschooling over here 😅 thank you!!!
Yeah, late dinners haha I know what you mean
Thank you!
Faith over fear!! I love it! Wow!! Very proud of you and your young family. #GodIsAmazing
He sure is!!
Hello Dom.. thank you for your story..
Thank you! Definitely get some dogs for the country 😊

I am so inspired watching your videos.
Wow, thank you
Hello Dom,love your story and testimony. You and your family is so amazing❤
You are so kind
Thank you so much for sharing your testimony! I'm so sorry for not watching this sooner. So many people don't listen to the signs food (good and bad) have on us. There are so many similarities in our stories. My husband and I sold our home in December 2019 to travel in our motorhome to find a new home as well. As you know, covid changed our plan too. You are leaving such a legacy for your children. I love seeing the girls in your videos being your helpers. Again, you are awesome and make me smile. Be blessed 💕.
That is very similar 😁thank you for sharing!
Girl. God has put you thru a lot. But know this HE is always with you. And look at how far you come and grown so much. GOD BLESS. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He is faithful 😆
WOW you look amazingly young. I Thought you were about 18 years old before you started telling your story. God bless you and your family.
Thank you so much!!
Your back story adds a lot !!
❤
Thank you friend!! I will do better this year 😆
@@faithfamilyhomestead I have complete confidence that you will!

🤣😂 thank you for your comment
Hello, thank you for sharing. I have homesteading dreams and I’m from Brooklyn. I’ve never lived in anything other than an apartment building and it is inspiring to see that you came from a similar area and are doing all of these things. May God continue to bless you and your family!

I remember the can corn days, nice video, I did not know anything about gardening then but look at me now. ( smile ).
☺️
Thank you for sharing; I love watching your video's. You and your family are doing a wonderful job.
Thank you so much!
Great advice, but I won’t be relocating any snakes…

I don't have a lot of energy or patience to experiment, although I'm trying to learn to make a few Thai f
dishes like Tom Yum, because we love it.
I'm pretty sure it was canned peas
