Hi Seymour - essentially it's techno, though not the four to the floor banging techno that is more common in clubs these days. I guess some people might think of what Jane plays as more IDM (Intelligent Dance Music), but that in itself is still under the broader umbrella of techno. Your (correct) observation of it being pretty mean and moody moves it away from what people think of as 'house', though some of the more chord-based tracks are a bit housey. I think of her as a techno DJ, just not one like all the others out there!
