  • Today I head back to Chimney Rock State Park in Chimney Rock North Carolina. I'll be hiking on the Four Seasons Trail, which proceeds to the Hickory Nut Falls Trail. The hike ends at the 400+ foot Hickory Nut Falls which is a spectacular site to see!
    Check out my other Chimney Rock Hike to Exclamation Point and The Skyline Trail to the top of Hickory Nut Falls:

    Well, gives a new meaning to "going to a rock concert". I always love the water and rocks 😍. You got 10000, and I got none, but enjoyed the hike and scenery as well. Thanks for taking us out and back to nature 😁😁💞.🐾🐾🐺

      Haha yes I guess that is a new definition of 'rock concert!' Chimney Rock is a really cool combination of mountains, nature, rocks, and water so you get it all when hiking there. Thanks for watching!

    Great video, those trails looked ruff and narrow,you have a brave family to hike those trails. What a nice surprise at the end of the hike.It looked like a beautiful day for being in the mountains.

      Yeah that 1st trail the 'Four Seasons Trail' was a lot more challenging then the 'Hickory Nut Falls' trail. The waterfall is amazing and worth the hike. Thanks Rita!

    That was a really cool hike!! Beautiful! I also might mention I haven’t had any hickory nuts in many years. I used to like them and had actually forgotten about them until the name of the falls. Thank you for taking us along!

      Yeah it had several uphill areas but the waterfall made it worth the work. This hike is much easier if entering the Hickory Nut Falls trail directly from the upper parking area. Thanks for watching!

    Great video thanks so much!!! Trying to plan a trip to this park with our 7 year old daughter...Could you confirm that this trail is not too dangerous tricky long or anything else bad??? Recommendations on footwear...we are city mice!!!! Thanks again!!!!

    • @lindakiser1349
      @lindakiser1349 2 роки тому

      Definitely the Hickory Nut Falls portion of the trail is very easy! But if your 7 yr old enjoys the outdoors and is energetic, he/she could probably do any of the Chimney Rock Trails....and likely hang with it longer than us older folks can. Also, you can turn back anytime you like. If you're particularly interested in going onto "the rock" you have the option to ride an elevator up to the last staircase to the rock. Trail runners would be adequate for the hiking.

      Hello when we did this hike the kids were all smaller but able to manage just fine. I do always recommend bringing a little 1st aid kit just in case someone slips and scrapes their knee or the like. I usually just wear a nice comfortable pair of tennis shoes as well as the kids. They sell walking sticks that are nice souvenirs and fun to help on the trail, or just pick up a nice stick from a tree if you'd like. There are maps provided and park rangers you can ask any questions to assist. As mentioned before you can always turn back for shorter walks. One thing I like about this particular trail is it's almost all under the tree canopy and very pretty. Hope this helps and enjoy Chimney Rock!

      Yes there's a small entrance fee to Chimney Rock State Park. Check their website for rates. I believe they offer a AAA discount too.
