Kiritsugu would've lost easily in the battle if Kiritsugu hadn't had avalon. And in stay night his strength is nearly as strong as Hassan, an actual servant. Rin is definitely one of the stronger masters in Zero/Stay Night, as she has lots of smarts and magic types with her gems (an example of her intelligence when she blows up berserker). Of course we all know the strongest master is Shinji :3
I still find it hilarious in how her tsundere personality prohibits her from admitting that they are a couple, despite the fact that she LITERALLY took Shirou on a date a couple days prior.
On a side note, in the fanfic From Fake Dreams, Lancer manages to get a lot of the battles he craves. Pretty sure he fought Beserker and Saber multiple times. He’s still alive and will probably fight some Dead Apostle Ancestors if it keeps up. Oh Bazett is still his master and he teases her a lot.
