GlenAllachie fast becoming a haven for ex-sherry-matured whisky fans. Cask-heavy or not, this one has stolen hearts everywhere. Hard to find now. Good to see you boys enjoying it tho! 🥃

I think they added rioja Spanish red wine casks to the maturation as well. Virgin oak as well.

Awesome stuff
I’m raltively new to scotch whisky, and started my search too late to get a bottle of the batch 5. But wiser and quicker off the mark this time, I have been able to get two bottles of the new batch 6 (57.8%). Delicious stuff, with a colour that looks similar to the batch 5.
Very nice. Seeing the changes in different batches has been fun.

They are nice
These batch 5s are absolutely incredible! I may have bought 3 additional bottles after tasting it, it is such a stunner. A fun comparison is going to be the new 12 year expression vs the previous batch because the new 10/12/15 are dramatically darker than previous ones. They do not look similar at all, so we’ll see what the palate holds!

Semi sweet and spicy goodness! I enjoyed batch 1, batch 3 and batch 5. I enjoyed tiny bit more batch 3. Anyone who buys this drum never going to be disappointed. Still accessible still priced right extremely enjoyable whiskey.

Scott, after doing this video did you do the research on which casks (there are four) used for the Batch 6 and even Batch 7? If not, I recommend it. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

@@ScotchTestDummies No problem. If you want to know, it is PX, Oloroso, Virgin Oak and Rioja (Spanish wine) casks. I think my interest in Armagnac has allowed me to detect a bit of the Rioja wine cask element to B6. Thanks for the reply, Scott. It was good to watch your live stream, even if it was after the fact.
Walker's influence will continue to change all these--all for the better! I have batch 1, blown away by the 12, and now batch 5 waiting in the wings.

If you haven’t tried px and oloroso sherry separately, it’s a good way to figure out the differences in sherry maturation and contributions to the whisky.

Going for 120€ here in Europe now, really hard to find. Amazing whisky, pays to give it 20minutes in the glass before diving in, well worth the wait.
That is expensive but it is very nice!

I tried the Glenallachie 10 batch 5 last night. It's the first Glenallachie I've ever had. It's aged in 4 different casks, but most of it is in sherry. I'm picking up another bottle today. I believe there's only 4500 cases. This bottle has a beautiful nose, the palate explodes with flavors and it does not taste like 55% abv. This is a dangerous bottle. Great review.

Already bought 5 bottles of the batch5. One we poured at a friends house and i gave him the left over. Our totalwine still has plenty @ $78. Maybe i should grab more....maybe another case? 😅

The good ole USA where everyone gets a piece of the ....Glenallachie cask strength 10 batch 5, Only a couple bottles ever make it to this remote place called Canada and when they do they are sold out before you can say Jack Robinson, oh well add this one to the unicorn list over here, Enjoy your bottle and scoop up whatever you can. Just finished Bacth 1 I got 5 bottles of the B5 at 70 US right now sitting at the local store and I passed on it 3 times, tomorrow It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine lol

Teeeeeessssssssssssssssssstiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinggggggggggggggggg, crazy Americans! I believe that cask strength Glen Allachie is great, looking at reviews. My focus on GLen Allachie now is the 15, can get it sometimes for 55 Euro. What do you guys think about that one?
