I love seeing dusty bottles on the shelf. Especially if it's a good one!

You are right, Water does change the whisky and like you said sometimes it's an improvement, sometimes it's the same en even it can kill the flavour. When we taste it we als try it with a few drops of water.

This was my #1 rated whisky in 2022. Had to purchased several bottles to make sure it's always available.

I will grab a Red Breast cask strength every time over the Blue Spit Irish whiskey! 🥃

I tried the Blue Spot and found it very good, but a 12 year old Cask strength Redbreast for a fraction of the price wins every time. Just seems like a greed move by J Mitchell & Sons, they also withheld said CS Redbreast 12 from the market and rumored to make it NAS to pump up the Blue Spot. (Sigh)

This is the holy grail of Irish Whiskies, at least it has been here in So Cal for quite some time. For the last few years, you were lucky if you could find it, let alone for $150. At the peak of the whisky fervor, this was going for $300 at any place that had a bottle. Thankfully with the slow down, it's pricing has become more reasonable. I can find it for $180 now.

Great review! That bottle’s price got hiked up to around $300 in the Dallas area this year. It’s ridiculous. Also, I think it’s a blend of whiskies with seven years being the youngest in the bottle. I think there is some whiskey older than seven years in it too.

People paid double what you did when it first came out. Glad to see it getting dusty now at 150. I'm not a player at that price for this bottle but still appreciate the review.

I got this bottle when it came out for $135, and I truly thought it was great, It does take water great. You can keep on adding to it, everyone should add some water and see how it will change Whiskey, totally agree with you guys. A couple of months ago. Try another blue spot in the friend's house, It wasn't as good as the first release, It was really good but....... Cheers gentlemen, thank you for another good one.

This is one I've been curious about for a while, I've just had a hard time justifying the price premium.

Get a bottle of Redbreast 12 cask strength. Most people prefer this to Blue Spot. Me included.

Whisk(e)y is so damned expensive anymore. Was buying Springbank 10 for $55 per bottle in KY. Now you can't find it for less than $105. Blue Spot is $330 in the Atlanta area.

Great review gents! This is the 2022 edition, haven’t tried it. The 2023 is really good, I think the finish might be better - length wise. It is expensive and a little tough to find.

I tried the Green Spot, good nothing great, contemplated the yellow, red etc. then they started skyrocketing in price and I had to let them go. My benchmark Ardbeg Uigeadail price ratio just said no. I keep a Bushmill's Black Bush and maybe a Jameson's Black Barrel on the shelf and that's it for Irish.

How is it that Bunnahabhain can sell a 12yo Cask Strength bottle for under $100 and this sells for between $270 and $400?
Influencers (no disrespect 😁), low-info customers with money to burn, and loyalty to the style I suppose 💚
    To me it's probably worth $70-80...maybe ✌️

That 12 year old Bunna cask strength is fantastic. I like the yellow spot but this is too pricey for my budget when the Bunnahabhain is £70.
