You are an inspiration to all aspiring pilots. You hit the nail on the head about current events resembling those of 2008. As baseball great Yogi Berra once put it: "It's deja-vu all over again".
I brought both of your papa kilo books for Christmas's last year - Fantastic read! .... I like your method of story telling and I hope you get more notoriety within the publishing environment ... I personally finished my flying courses via a Uni degree (including cpl+mecir), however wasn't able to afford an instructor rating (extra $30k), so yeah never landed a job after accruing $130k+ in student debt here in Australia .... maybe one day when I have saved enough money ill try and find a job in aviation hahaha ... alot of it is down to poorly designed courses being offered by training providers... my main gripe is the insistence on making you pay $45k for a multi engine endorsement and instrument rating ... when you could easily get double the hrs for the same price under a single engine IF program, the unis currently circumvent alot of the vocational training standards by being federal "self-accrediting" institutions, leading to poor design and oversight for student career outcomes... buyer beware!
Not a pilot here, but genuine thanks for sharing this. I’ve forwarded your story to my grandchildren. You may have had zero students, but your units of courage and determination were uncountable.
After Corona, my choice to become a helicopter pilot aming for utility work, rather than an airline pilot flying passengers seems to have been fortuitous.
Let me know in the comments if you'd like the ENTIRE book to be turned into an audio / visual video :)

Man you content is great, I do miss flying with you!
Likewise Oli!
It seems to me that our reaction to COVID 19 is a self induced economic disaster.

Of course it’s effectively 2008 all over again.
Dust off that CV Dan and make sure to highlight your doorman, barman, and grocery sales experience.
