Texting throughout the day is annoying. People who are busy can't text ALLL DAY.
I think it depends on the text. If it’s thinking of you, hope your day is going well, that’s fine. But memes all day or texts that require a response is annoying

The Ex boyfriend said his ex wife was “crazy” and he also had issues with his mother who lived three miles away and he wouldn’t speak to her. Nope.

Chance was spot on about people’s parents (I think the word he was looking for is “Passive”). Let me meet them early! Especially if they have a close relationship. How the parents are often mirrors how your date is behind the facade.

Some red flags for me when it comes to dating is if we just started talking and we’re texting or calling as a way to get to know each other, and the person who I’m talking to decides to text me on and off, but not consistently( I lose interest fast if we’re not in consistent communication), when a person who you just met talks about how they love you and see a future with you, clinginess, wanting to marry after a short while of being together, if they want to have s*x on the first date, etc.
It's not cute for you to check on me every hour when I have told you I'm at work. Don't call me for at least another 8 hours, or I'll call you if I have something to say.
Lost my husband 3 years ago and am just now open to the idea of joining the dating world. What I see and hear about it doesn’t make me too hopeful, but not trying is not an option. My husband broke every mold and raised every bar and he’s probably smiling down on me, maybe even laughing and poking out his chest saying yup that’s me. He always had jokes. So I’m going back out into this world like I used when I was single before him, to enjoy meeting good men and letting them decide what role, if any, they want to be in my life….and I simply and quietly decide if that’s ok or enough for me. I keep things as simple as possible…do you add value to my life or do you need to go. No drama. No second guessing. No diminishing me to make you feel better about you. As my husband always said, “don’t let anyone steal your joy”.
Yes, this dating world isn't the easiest...but it is what it is. Been single for a good time now. I'm in NYC, so most ppl here aren't fully single. And the ones that are, most out here either playing games or not ready for something & someone real....so yeah, it is what it is.
But it's definitely doable. Just gotta keep on keeping on I guess. Lol

The dating pool & scene will be different depending on where you're at. So NYC may be easier to find a decent man...but you just gotta be good at vetting...so you wein off those 9 players that holla at you when you see those signs...and maybe get to know that 1 out of 10 man...if you're attracted to him.
In places like ATL/Houston, the dynamics may be completely the opposite.
So like I said, it's just different depending on where you reside.
I always feel like my soulmate might be somewhere down south anyway. Idk 🤔

Not necessarily! It all depends on the circumstances. I was like that at first, and he was too. It was only because we both had kids and I won't going to let just anyone meet my children or my parents. Sometimes a year is not enough people can change after 2 years .Needless to say we've been together 19 years. It's not always a red flag just caution.

Disagree with the social media posting. I don't want my boyfriend posting me and I don't post him. For me it has nothing to do with other people. The people closest to me know who he is and his people know who I am. But what I don't want is FB memories reminding me of him if shit don't work out. We are boyfriend and girlfriend. Agree! Also, pay attention to how someone introduces other people (i.e., the narrative they tell you about people -- their perception, etc.) Are the descriptions mostly negative or jaded? Do the stories somehow always paint someone in a bad light? Do they take accountability in their retellings? Because eventually this person is going to introduce you -- and you want a fair assessment.

On a dinner date right after you both left your places of employment in office settings. It is a second date. Your date does not drink any alcoholic beverages during dinner, most likely because he has learned through phone conversations that you don't drink. When you are finished eating dinner and are standing near each other, you smell alcohol coming from his pores. Red flag!
I had to chime in on the posting on social media part. My spouse specifically requested not to be posted when he joined law enforcement for my and my daughter's safety.

Hi y’all! This goes back to what Auntie Tab said…I was raised in the “yes ma’am no ma’am, yes sir no sir” mindset. My daughter is 7 and I’m struggling to find the right approach in today’s society with respect to pronouns. I want my children to be respectful, but some people take offense to addressing the gender. Are we still teaching children to address other’s as ma’am or sir????
