Here's a fun track I put together yesterday that has some fun changes to play over and is also in 7/8 time! Sometimes you can try to force riffs/ideas into odd time signatures, but this riff seemed to flow most naturally in that time.
This makes for some challenging improvising! Having to follow the changes while also keeping time within 7/8 is a great way to keep you on your toes and not let you drift off into your own world while improvising.

This solo totally proved your point the other day about not shredding all the time. There was so much in here worth dissecting that had nothing to do with shredding at all. The melodic intervallic stuff, the slides and shifts, the tempo change on the one repeated lick that build right up into a shred tempo. I felt like I heard so many of your influences coming through without sounding like a clone of any of them which is the way to do it. It never felt like a bunch of bedroom exercises glued together . Some modern solos feel too much like Alternate picking lick + hybrid lick+ legato lick +tapping lick+ sweeping licks+ bend lol
