  • Its honey harvesting season! The best part of beekeeping in the honey harvest, but how much honey can you expect to get per honey super? Folks usually use shallows, mediums, or deeps, but I mainly stick to mediums. Come see how much honey I get from just 1 hive and 1 honey super!

Nice wind chimes... better than how some people play those generic elavator music in the background of their videos.

Hi I routinely get 2.5 gallons per Illinois depth medium super not counting the cappings. Ten frames. One quart each. A shallow depth super is around 2 gallons.
    You can bank on that.
30 pounds of honey from a medium.

Just found your channel. We’re in the mountains of NW NC, so interested in how our production compares. We only have 2 hives, but plan on adding one or two next spring. Thanks for all the info!

Good luck! The hardest part is keeping them alive through the winter! I use sugar candy, winter pollen Patties, and quilt boxes.

If you are quick, 15 minutes to harvest, but have to extract and bottle.

35 lbs per year from 2 supers of honey; if we sell that in quart jars for 12 bucks, that's about 12x4, times 8. u could go extreme and say you sell it at a organic outdoor market every year for 30 dollars a quart, bout 300 dollars a year for messing with bees, probably feasible if ur into home made herbal remedies, or making mead, but outside of it, it would take you 2 years to pay for the clothes and equipment to extra the honey

Few businesses pay for themselves in a year, and it’s a fun hobby!

Good video. Surprised your spring honey is so dark. Our locust honey is almost clear to white in color. Thanks for sharing
