Erin, during 2017's IT, Chapter 1 came out, Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise was doing Press Junket - he was on Jimmy Kimmel. He told Jimmy when he went in to audition for Pennywise, Producers wanted him in clown makeup for 2nd round of audition. Bill stated that he was driving in makeup in LA improvised his clown laugh.....imagine him doing that next to you in your car. Bill stated that he was self conscious about wearing clown makeup on the way to Producers' offices. But people in LA didn't react to him in clown makeup. In other talk show, Bill demonstrated the famous Pennywise's smile to the camera. He said, it was natural to make that evil grin.
