FYI: in the mines, you need to hit the EXACT middle of the circle. At first, I was faffing about hitting the "area" of the circle. Knowing this before i played, would've saved so much time! Hope this helps someone! 😊
The first two days there is a freeze on the clock. I collected a ton of ore by just going in and out of the mine. I managed to get a lot of gold for early game this way. Fishing outide of your village gives fish that sell for a lot and fishing doesnt use energy or it uses very little in my experience.
How did you get a ladder to progress in the mines? I did this when I first started the game but wasn't allowed to progress beyond the first level in the mine because after continually tilling the entire level there wasn't a ladder no matter how many times I redid it. The best item I found was bronze and I did this for hours.

You know what’s funny? After posting this video I lost a bunch of crops because I didn’t listen to my own advice, hahaha. I forgot to take my fences with me to my next farm and they got ruined by a blizzard… Oops.
This is kind of bad, but you can cheese the material gathering during the tutorial phase to get a TON of stone and lumber at no cost to stamina lol I had almost 400 wood and stone starting out, because I gathered it before the game introduced stamina loss xD lol

I feel you on the Jaguar disappointment, I did the same thing when I found the Bengal Tiger, its ability is....ok but wow I really just wanted to ride a tiger. 1 slight thing I'd add as more of a tip than a mistake. If you have "maxed" a villages stars out it'll have a little outline around it. Its best to move your house to an area that is not "maxed" yet as anything you ship will contribute to the star level of the village your house is in. And since in the beginning of the game you get flooded with requests from the starting town, its best to move to prosperity village where the requests are extremely sparse by comparison.
Super happy with the mining in this game, it looks great Super helpful hint about the using corn for feed too, was somewhat worried about the animal issue Sorta sad to hear that you can miss out on something by not keeping up with the story enough though, hope its not a big problem. Was really hoping to take this one at a slow pace

Bro. I'm here to tell you that you are wrong about the Jaguar. That skill IS NOT LAME AT ALL. I have been killing myself running around the volcano trying to find platinum. After finally making it to the mine you have to get deep enough for the heat to not matter anymore. Well I just figures out by accident what the Jaguar does. I was trying to get up the cold mountain find the reindeers. Packed more than enough food to last for awhile based on my volcano experience. Well...I only had to use a few hot mushrooms because they time effect junoed from 0:30 to 2:00. Thanks Jaguar! Found 2 reindeer and a Snow Leopard.
-yes you can abuse tutorial freeze time/stamina for infinite stone and iron and allot of wood(i did that and was worth it) -get some single ingredient recipes like fried egg(costs 1 egg duh), you get a baguette recipe also during the tutorial(req weed only) the reason 4 it that you get a more worthy product 4 sell if you choose so but you get a better healing item like with the egg you get 1 heart instead of half just because you fried it. -when you build up back towns do check their restaurants for recipes like i said in previous point you can get some powerful foods using single ingredients or cheap ing. - don't invest your wisps into max stamina, instead invest all in bag why? because 1 more stamina/
Have you finished the quest at the music village? The quest says "take a picture of xx's favorite spot", I took lot of pictures (the beach, the town, the sea and the favorite spot) but it didn't work.
You don’t actually have to take a photo; it’s a cutscene where it happens automatically. I did the same thing as you though, haha. Just track that mission, go to that area on the mountain, and the cutscene will take over if you are there at the right time (I believe it’s around 5-7 PM). You might have to do it on a good weather day.
I wish developers just copied Stardew Valley and gave it a modern graphics lift, the mechanics in that game are perfect for a farming sim. If only I could program I’d make my own Harvest Moon game that doesn’t suck.
You don't have to water the grass. As long as you go back in 4 days after planting you'll have grass. If you let it sit pass 4 days it will start to brown, but as long as it's not wilted you can still harvest it just fine. You do have to water it in winter though.
Yeah, the numbers are all over the place in this game. Are you to the third town yet? If so you can hunt for truffles. They sell for a good amount of money. Also the ores from the second and third mines sell for a decent amount too.

New to the game and haven't tried the fishing yet but using the wood work station to make and sell planks has been my main source of money so far. Just craft them at night before you sleep and when you wake up they're all done ready to sell in the shipment bin
Normally I would skip the fence as well… but in this game I feel like there is bad weather quite often. So, don’t build a fence and get your crops destroyed, or build a fence, protect your crops, and get some bonus goodies. It’s an easy decision, haha.
Anyone know how to finish the event to find vivi?? I alr open oasis map and go there.. but the cutscene not appeared. Vivi just standing there and i cant talk to her... Btw i talked to westley before and the exclaim mark appear in the pool near oasis... But no cut scene... 😢
It appears the way this game works is very similar but not identical to the DS story of seasons one and two (I've only played two but I think one is similar as well ) the graphics look quite nice and the foraging aspect is also a nice return, that's something the story of seasons guys seem to have forgotten about for the most part. I don't really like the character designs or cut scenes from what I've seen so far but that's kinda minor
Yeah, I actually really like foraging in these games and would love to see more future titles focus on the gathering aspect! I didn't like that in Olive Town you can't forage anywhere except on your farm. No reason to explore if you can't find a truffle hidden down a secret path somewhere. In the Winds of Anthos there are a lot of different types of mushrooms and a few rare ones.

I struggled in the beginning as well! Complete the quests in the first town until you knock down the wall completely. Don’t leave the first town until you have completed the first set of quests.

No, you don’t have to worry about that at all in this game! “Waste” as many days as you would like. This game is pretty chill in that you can do whatever you want and there aren’t really consequences. Just take it at your pace.
I need help, I’m stuck for almost a day, i cleared 3 Towns and have the snow region left, i now need cold resistance and/or desert hibiscus for the bridge to repair, don’t know what to do
I still haven’t repaired that bridge that requires desert hibiscus. Go to the cold area the other way. Buy the recipe for coffee, it only requires one coffee bean. It restores one full heart and gives cold resistance. I believe coffee beans are just north of the Lalika village. You completed the fall town right? You should have four towns down before the cold one.

@@Larudantex1991 No problem! You should also get coconut milk! Only one ingredient and grants resistance to heat, which you will need pretty soon after going to the winter town. Let me know if you get stuck again! I played before release so I had to struggle through some parts as well, haha.

The fishing pole in my game became bugged after it was upgraded. I can hook the fish, but the game won't let me reel them in anymore. Frustrating because there are parts of the story now that I can't complete. ☹
You need to complete all of the quests in the first town. The last quest require silver. After you complete it, the wall will disappear around the city.
Not at all! You can fully take this game at your own pace. There are even settings in the game to choose how long each day lasts and a setting to lower stamina requirements.
First you have to complete the first few quests in the first town. The last one requires you to get silver, then the walls around the town disappear. Then just walk up to the statues and they activate.
You literally just have to look around for the little sprites at this point. If you've already gotten one Tomatoe seed, search for it in the Dr Pad lol
In terms of putting off the main story line, i know theres quite a bit thats locked behind continuing the storyline, but is there anything thats time sensitivite locked behind the main story line? Like a special event that only happens once, etc?
Just found a glitch for the animal feed😂 make your bag full before you complete the barn, and when the tutorial teach you how to feed, just keep talking to Judy, she will keep giving you animal feed.😂

I know so little about this game because a lot of Harvest Moons haven't been as good as the name's legacy holds. But being able to tame a jaguar seems so cool. Sucks that it...sucks lol. Question though, is there a limit to how many animals you can tame? There's a DLC bundle adding new animals, but I don't see the point of adding ten more if you can't have them all.
I never considered the jaguar could have been a mount. I should have considered it though. Recently I was playing BOTW and hunting deer in the woods and one came running by right as I clicked the wrong button. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw Link mount and ride the deer. One of the first times I busted out laughing in a game. 😂😂😂
Hey when you mine can you exit it at anytime? Like if I go up a ladder, it'll take me to the entrance? And did I see sprinklers in the game too for your crops? That would definitely be a time saver. Wait, so even with a mount and regular walking you lose energy? I don't like that at all. I know you say to not worry about fainting and while I am happy there's no punishment for it, I still would hate wasting a whole day, so I am absolutely hoarding food lol. So there's no cooking right? I am fine if there isn't because it's one less thing to worry about lol.

Maybe double check everything? I’ve never heard of this bug before. Where are you and what is the specific item he won’t craft for you? Some of the items are a bit similar, so it could be that.
i noticed i still have the same old equipment that ive been using since i started the game, but do i have to progress the story line in order to get better tools? Like for an example, is there a better fishing rod later on? ALso great video!
Thanks! Actually you HAVE to upgrade your fishing rod when you get the beachside city. For the other equipment (like the hoe and the watering can) you can upgrade them at the Doc Jr’s lab. You can do that fairly early on.
Yes. There golden harvest sprites that appear and give you a special item. Trade three of them for an upgrade (stamina or 3 more spots in your backpack).
Go east out of providence along that path. It’s at the second intersection. Go directly south at the second intersection. It looks like a giant X on the map (southeast of Providence).

Hi there first off, this video helped me ALOT. I'm struggling trying to get silver right now having to start at level 1 everyday and never making it to level 10. Any tips for that? Also how did you unlock the map areas? The only one I can see is the starter village I'm in but everything else is blacked out.
You have to get silver and then the first town’s missions will be completed. Then you can start unlocking the map. To get silver, you need to get to level 11 of the mines. First, spend a day or two collecting apples and mushrooms. Then on day three, go to the mine. Push B and only use your pickaxe in the middle of the big circles. Don’t hit any of the stones or ores unless you have to. You should be able to get to level 11 relatively easily if you follow these tips. Good luck!

Two options: one restart your game. You have unlimited stamina for the first two days. Two, don’t hit the rocks, just use sonar to find the stairs down. Bring food to recover your stamina.
Cutting down wild grass and some fodder corn for early game for sure. Once you start having sprinklers then grass will be a better option because you can buy unlimited amount of seeds for it and fodder corn you'd need to hunt down wisps for seeds daily, not worth the time.
Actually, my mind was blown when I found out recently that… YOU DON’T HAVE TO WATER GRASS! That makes it slightly better, I guess. You can just throw the seeds down and then go back a little while later.
@@elithegaymerIt usually doesn't get cut down completely either, I wouldn't have thought it either. The farming is done... interestingly in this title, I wouldn't have been surprised at all if we had to water grass daily.
@@elithegaymer Dude it's not just grass, it's everything. Crops grow based on days planted not days watered. The watering is just for plant health, keep them from wilting and dying. Fences also slow this down a little bit. What is happening is the grass is right about to wilt and die but it finishes growing, while its fenced in. Without fences it will die without water. This is also true for crops, they can go a few days without water before they wilt then die, so if you are trying to stretch your stamina out, just water your plants when turn yellow and you should be good hahaha.
I guess I’m confused as to why the dungeons are as big as they are when you only mine within the circles. Why not just make a smaller room with more stuff in it?

Yeah, I talk about this in my tips and tricks video… You don’t have to water it spring through fall but in winter there’s a chance it will turn brown (in which case you should water them to save them).
I hate when marriage is locked until you finish the storyline. I always get bored after the marriage part of the game, so having a storyline to do is preferable. If marriage is locked behind it...then once married, I've got nothing left to work for. -_-
I agree… However there is still a lot to do after you complete the main storyline. I have been playing my one play file of this game for over 55 hours now.

I agree. They should let us get married earlier! That being said, in this game they have added lots of post marriage scenes, so we can look forward to those I guess. And the DLC storyline I suppose.

In the mine you can press O for radar and dig at center of the circle to find the material/stairs. No need to dig all plots.

Harvest Moon has always been about relationships, Storyline more than the actual farm and sell.
How do you switch between sections of your bag? Because I brush all the buttons on my switch, but it will always stay in the food section.

For the passing out. It depends on what time you pass out. My character passed out at 3 AM and it woke my character up at 9AM
It appears the way this game works is very similar but not identical to the DS story of seasons one and two (I've only played two but I think one is similar as well ) the graphics look quite nice and the foraging aspect is also a nice return, that's something the story of seasons guys seem to have forgotten about for the most part. I don't really like the character designs or cut scenes from what I've seen so far but that's kinda minor
Yeah, I actually really like foraging in these games and would love to see more future titles focus on the gathering aspect! I didn't like that in Olive Town you can't forage anywhere except on your farm. No reason to explore if you can't find a truffle hidden down a secret path somewhere. In the Winds of Anthos there are a lot of different types of mushrooms and a few rare ones.
Also if you get a bunch of lumber and refine it, that's easy money.

Also, does anyone else get the westher warning from the Goddess but not know where thats for? Is this where your hiuse is or you have to figure out the region? Right now im only using the crop plot in the first village and thats fenced off so im lost 😂

I struggled in the beginning as well! Complete the quests in the first town until you knock down the wall completely. Don’t leave the first town until you have completed the first set of quests.

No, you don’t have to worry about that at all in this game! “Waste” as many days as you would like. This game is pretty chill in that you can do whatever you want and there aren’t really consequences. Just take it at your pace.
I need help, I’m stuck for almost a day, i cleared 3 Towns and have the snow region left, i now need cold resistance and/or desert hibiscus for the bridge to repair, don’t know what to do
I still haven’t repaired that bridge that requires desert hibiscus. Go to the cold area the other way. Buy the recipe for coffee, it only requires one coffee bean. It restores one full heart and gives cold resistance. I believe coffee beans are just north of the Lalika village. You completed the fall town right? You should have four towns down before the cold one.

@@Larudantex1991 No problem! You should also get coconut milk! Only one ingredient and grants resistance to heat, which you will need pretty soon after going to the winter town. Let me know if you get stuck again! I played before release so I had to struggle through some parts as well, haha.
@@elithegaymer alright you got me with the coconut juice^^ so I found the vulcano peak and the 2 light seeds before it, how do I get the adamantit ? The peak is still behind a fairy wall and i got lost lol do i need to go back ? I made a break at that point haha

The fishing pole in my game became bugged after it was upgraded. I can hook the fish, but the game won't let me reel them in anymore. Frustrating because there are parts of the story now that I can't complete. ☹

You need to complete all of the quests in the first town. The last quest require silver. After you complete it, the wall will disappear around the city.

Do I need to feel rushed by the passing of days? Only one I played was 64 and everything felt like a time rush.
Not at all! You can fully take this game at your own pace. There are even settings in the game to choose how long each day lasts and a setting to lower stamina requirements.
Any further tips for mining? I spent all day and only managed to get to floor 3 or so 🙃
Smaller circles are mainly ores. Ladders and pitfalls are mainly medium or large circles. Dig in the middle of the circles.

First you have to complete the first few quests in the first town. The last one requires you to get silver, then the walls around the town disappear. Then just walk up to the statues and they activate.

Where do i find/get tomato seeds. Stuck in the story line because I havent been able to come across these yet.
You literally just have to look around for the little sprites at this point. If you've already gotten one Tomatoe seed, search for it in the Dr Pad lol
They are sometimes a gift from Rare Harvest Sprites. Crouch and approach them. Once unlocked, you should be able to track them in the map using Docpad
In terms of putting off the main story line, i know theres quite a bit thats locked behind continuing the storyline, but is there anything thats time sensitivite locked behind the main story line? Like a special event that only happens once, etc?
There’s nothing that is time sensitive, so you can take your time if you would like. The only things that only happen once are things like marriage.
GRASS tip. Plant it, water it and leave it. Come back after 4 days (not a day longer) and harvest. You don't have to water it every day,
Just found a glitch for the animal feed😂 make your bag full before you complete the barn, and when the tutorial teach you how to feed, just keep talking to Judy, she will keep giving you animal feed.😂

I know so little about this game because a lot of Harvest Moons haven't been as good as the name's legacy holds. But being able to tame a jaguar seems so cool. Sucks that it...sucks lol. Question though, is there a limit to how many animals you can tame? There's a DLC bundle adding new animals, but I don't see the point of adding ten more if you can't have them all.
I never considered the jaguar could have been a mount. I should have considered it though. Recently I was playing BOTW and hunting deer in the woods and one came running by right as I clicked the wrong button. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw Link mount and ride the deer. One of the first times I busted out laughing in a game. 😂😂😂
Hi do you know why i cant craft silver ore at docs lab? Theres no option in there. I just start the quest for fix the barn. Really need help :(
You have to find silver ore in the mine. It’s on level 11 and below.
Make sure your bag for the ores is not full when you craft silver
Hey when you mine can you exit it at anytime? Like if I go up a ladder, it'll take me to the entrance?
And did I see sprinklers in the game too for your crops? That would definitely be a time saver.
Wait, so even with a mount and regular walking you lose energy? I don't like that at all. I know you say to not worry about fainting and while I am happy there's no punishment for it, I still would hate wasting a whole day, so I am absolutely hoarding food lol.

There is cooking, but it’s very streamlined and easy. Yeah, you can leave the mine right away by going up a ladder.
Is it along the storyline to upgrade the barn? I've gone a decent way in and done alot of requests but still no barn upgrade.
I believe it’s related to town star level. Get the first town to 3 stars and you should be able to upgrade it

Maybe double check everything? I’ve never heard of this bug before. Where are you and what is the specific item he won’t craft for you? Some of the items are a bit similar, so it could be that.

i noticed i still have the same old equipment that ive been using since i started the game, but do i have to progress the story line in order to get better tools? Like for an example, is there a better fishing rod later on? ALso great video!
Thanks! Actually you HAVE to upgrade your fishing rod when you get the beachside city. For the other equipment (like the hoe and the watering can) you can upgrade them at the Doc Jr’s lab. You can do that fairly early on.
Can you upgrade your backpack?
Yes. There golden harvest sprites that appear and give you a special item. Trade three of them for an upgrade (stamina or 3 more spots in your backpack).

Go east out of providence along that path. It’s at the second intersection. Go directly south at the second intersection. It looks like a giant X on the map (southeast of Providence).

All animals eat the same thing… “Animal Feed” is what pets, cows, chickens, and all the rest eat. You can give it to them directly.

Your best bet would be to search for that animal in the Doc Pad and re-friend it 👍

Hi there first off, this video helped me ALOT. I'm struggling trying to get silver right now having to start at level 1 everyday and never making it to level 10. Any tips for that? Also how did you unlock the map areas? The only one I can see is the starter village I'm in but everything else is blacked out.
You have to get silver and then the first town’s missions will be completed. Then you can start unlocking the map. To get silver, you need to get to level 11 of the mines. First, spend a day or two collecting apples and mushrooms. Then on day three, go to the mine. Push B and only use your pickaxe in the middle of the big circles. Don’t hit any of the stones or ores unless you have to. You should be able to get to level 11 relatively easily if you follow these tips. Good luck!

Tips to getting silver in the mines? Ive been trying for days on days of in game play and cant get lower than level 8
Two options: one restart your game. You have unlimited stamina for the first two days. Two, don’t hit the rocks, just use sonar to find the stairs down. Bring food to recover your stamina.
Cutting down wild grass and some fodder corn for early game for sure. Once you start having sprinklers then grass will be a better option because you can buy unlimited amount of seeds for it and fodder corn you'd need to hunt down wisps for seeds daily, not worth the time.
Actually, my mind was blown when I found out recently that… YOU DON’T HAVE TO WATER GRASS! That makes it slightly better, I guess. You can just throw the seeds down and then go back a little while later.

@@elithegaymerIt usually doesn't get cut down completely either, I wouldn't have thought it either. The farming is done... interestingly in this title, I wouldn't have been surprised at all if we had to water grass daily.
@@elithegaymer Dude it's not just grass, it's everything. Crops grow based on days planted not days watered. The watering is just for plant health, keep them from wilting and dying. Fences also slow this down a little bit. What is happening is the grass is right about to wilt and die but it finishes growing, while its fenced in. Without fences it will die without water. This is also true for crops, they can go a few days without water before they wilt then die, so if you are trying to stretch your stamina out, just water your plants when turn yellow and you should be good hahaha.

I guess I’m confused as to why the dungeons are as big as they are when you only mine within the circles. Why not just make a smaller room with more stuff in it?
If the rooms were smaller, then there wouldn’t be much reason to have the sonar system.

I got all the way to level 10 in the mines before knowing about it! It was a struggle, let me tell ya. Fainted A LOT of times during failed attempts.
The only struggle I found were the Bugs. It seems if you try to leave the house when you're supposed to go to sleep the Game crashes :)

Yeah, I talk about this in my tips and tricks video… You don’t have to water it spring through fall but in winter there’s a chance it will turn brown (in which case you should water them to save them).

Main storyline
I hate when marriage is locked until you finish the storyline. I always get bored after the marriage part of the game, so having a storyline to do is preferable. If marriage is locked behind it...then once married, I've got nothing left to work for. -_-
I agree… However there is still a lot to do after you complete the main storyline. I have been playing my one play file of this game for over 55 hours now.

I agree. They should let us get married earlier! That being said, in this game they have added lots of post marriage scenes, so we can look forward to those I guess. And the DLC storyline I suppose.
