I've listened to so many shit live recordings that I was so surprised that I could actually hear all the instruments. Metallica did a few things on the Howard Stern Show where the mixing was just phenominal
He is a big fan of Rock and covers a lot of different songs at his live shows. Check some of the videos out here on UA-cam. Definitely worth a look. He and his band do a phenomenal job.
@Kommander Rahnn So did Ozzy a lot of times. Dude's a pretty good country musician (for what that means now), and if he forgets some lyrics every now and then, so what? Most people do it at one point or another.
@Kommander Rahnn I'd rather a technically proficient musician mess up a lyric a few times in a song than about anything played on modern pop radio stations
Even people who hate country music can respect what Zac brings to the table. I should know, I hate country music, but I have been in love with the Zac Brown Band forever because they don’t just do country, they’ve dived into rock music as well, not just with Dave and Foo Fighters, but with Chris Cornell on the song Heavy is the Head.
Or they could just have Toni Iomi playin the lead with Geezer Butler on base, Bill Ward on Drums with Ozzy's vocals and they'd be even better. I love these guys too though lol.
I gotta' give Zack Brown a lot of credit for stepping out of his comfort zone and doing this with the FOOS! Beautiful cold hard stop in the middle of the song. That's really hard to do.
Jack Black and Dave are pretty tight. He actually played the Devil in the Pick of Destiny Tenacious D movie. Pretty good movie with the final rock off music battle against the Devil (Dave Grohl) being the highlight.
lol sorry but the drummer is the weak link in this cover. Go look up Sabbaths version from 1970 in Paris if you want to see Bill Ward terrorizing the drum kit. He made the kit explode!

Wow, I am reading a lot of comments about it being over kill to have so many guitarists on stage playing together on a Black Sabbath tune. Hey these guy's are musicians and they like to play and the more the merrier. They did it on the show to have fun and sound good, which they did. I'm glad that they did their own version of War pigs instead of just copying the same notes that Tony played. We have all heard this tune a billion times, and to hear it played a little different was nice and refreshing, plus they were still high energy and never let it get too slow. War pigs can actually be a hard song to play live, even though it is pretty basic as far as the riff. I thought it sounded great.
Never been the biggest country fan although I do like a lot of it... I do love watching videos of Zac Brown covering rock hits like this or Metallica at his live shows. Awesome!!!
Just mind blowing, took me back to my teenage years in high school in the early to mid 70's. Just an outstanding cover song... Foo Fighters are still carrying the torch of true Rock and Roll. Any one that says Rock and Roll is dead missed the train and got thrown under the bus instead. I'd say Zach Brown can rock it hard, when he wants to. Even Chris Shiflett having a good time. Waiting for the day Foo Fighters does an album or two of their favorite R&R classic influence cover songs with surprise guests for each song. Think it would sell?
One of a billion reasons Taylor is great: He showed major restraint in this performance. If you know anything about music, this song is a perfect platform for miniature drum solos between each verse, and every drummer I've ever seen do this tune has taken the opportunity, but he didn't, he just played the song, and kept the drum sections almost exact to the record, when he could've easily torn that shit up. In fact he may have even simplified the parts more than the original.
very true he stuck to the original drum beat they all was having fun and their for the fans giving them a good show something memorable plus I think the way the covered this song and the way they did the song was really respectful they could of performed the song many different ways but stuck to the original way it was performed by B.Sabbath I've heard other bands I've not heard of before just butcher covers they performed not trying to judge other bands I respect musicians my grandfather was a jazz drummer after he served in the second war in the army he was a medic he was a very good drummer and taught me how to play the drums that was a job for him lol it was tough in the beginning he was proud he got to teach 1 of his grandchildren to play the drums I got about 13 learned how to play the guitar by the time I was 15 I learned the bass I love music and thank my grandfather for being a musician and teaching me to play the drums
