INGREDIENTS:
200g caster sugar
1 vanilla bean
6 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 nutmeg
6 star anise
1-2 oranges (depends how many garnishes you want)
1 lemon
1 lime
2 bottles of red wine
100ml spiced rum
can i use whiskey instead of rum for the finishing ? lol
How many cups would this make?
@@sophiamartins2483 approx. 6 tea cups
A good punch bowl would call for 4 times the ingredients, with half-again more for after-carolling.
My German Professor in college was from East Germany and served this to us in school during German club. I had one glass and was it snuck up on me. I am sure, there was more than wine and spices in that glass. Probably rum or some other spirits. From one glass, I went from being coherent, to not being able to walk in the space of two hours. Gotta love the late 80s
Probably brandy or something more traditional to Germany as rum isn't common there
@@KIJIKLIPS There is more rum than brandy in Germany 😂
@@ThomDeWit ? Maybe now with modern exchange. But historically rum was a foreign thing
The rum was brought to Germany trough The Netherlands. They had a lot of it because of their ‘trading’
But before that maybe it was brandy indeed
Very sexy camera work indeedy
This might be the sexiest food porn I've ever seen
The Craft Beer Channel just thinking the same thing
Never seen someone make a more sexy drink
Wow, I was just looking for a nice recipe for mulled wine and here it is! Perfect, I wish all recipes on all food channels were organized in such an awesome way! Thanks fore this recipe! :)
oh my gooodd, we drink mullled wine every single year here, its sold everywhere around the country, but i think this may be the absolute BEST version ive ever seen!
That’s some solid editing. Kept it super entertaining. Give the man a medal
i know right!?
It was pretty nice editing. The weird thing is that it makes the grammar mistakes all the more aggravating.
1:27 "Then bring to *_the_* boil".
I made this at the Christmas party and my boss told me that it was the best mulled wine he’s ever had. Thank you so much for the great recipe!!
Thank you! We made this in Kigali! When I've made it before, we just threw the wine, fruit and spices in and heated it, but that first step of dissolving the sugar before adding the rest of the wine makes a huge difference. It tastes really good.
Forget the pressies, Christmas is all about the foods and drinks for me! :)
I made this fantastic mulled wine with honey instead of sugar. Its absolutely delicious! Best I ever had. Thank you greatly!
Omg ... chairman rum is made in my island Saint Lucia. Its a big seller here. I love it on the rocks
Do you need to sieve it at the end?
You definitely sold me on this wine...very well put together video...Happy Holidays Jamie
The most lovely mulled wine eva! Will be making it for Christmas!

Great video editing and execution. Perfect camera work. Definitely worth trying!
Interesting recipe.
Amazing camera work.
a simply pleasure of a stroll along the outdoor Christmas market & Mulled wine.... not possible this year :(
trust me guys Glühwein is soooo awesome plus you get really really drunk after like 2-3 glasses ;)
It's called Quentão in southern Brazil!!! Amazing!!
delicious ! Hard to achieve the syrup if you put too much wine at first
Tried to make half the amount, but poured too much wine at first 😂
Damn this recipe was classy!
This is such an awesome video as like both recipe and the video itself!
Wow! This was amazing! I would absolutely try it!
please make more videos like this!
simlpe and effektive. I love it
Well made...

I loved the music
Now, that will warm you! Since my family is from Panama, we o a spicy Hibiscus drin called saril, which is also served with or without rum! It's the perfect drink for a mixed crowd- you can add the rum into the glass after it is made. Also, to go with, fried plantains with avocado dip, fried fish and plenty of cookies! :-)
Hisibiscus works as well!
Sounds amazing, gotta try a dinner like that.
Easy to follow Will make holidays 🇨🇦
Was amazing and looks so delicious. I make it for my dinner. Terrific
wait.. one WHOLE nutmeg?
nutmeg is a hallucinogenic at that level. congrats jamie oliver you have just made a bunch of people trip balls over a mug of mulled wine
Nice that spice rum chairmans spice is from my island Saint Lucia.
omg I so want to drink that cup right now!
Really enjoyed this style of filming
This was so classy.
Love the music!
Tks for the vid. Am abit confused with the no. of bottle of wine you are using. Is it just 1 or 2? The 2nd pour seems like 1.5 bottle as your indication was quite confusing. If its just one bottle, do I halve the amount of ingredients? Tks
Wow that looks gorgeous.
This is so visually appealing 😍
Man, that looks bad ass as f^*&. I'm going to make that next winter (I'm in Australia, it's forty degrees right now).
haha
I'm in Louisiana, and it's 40 degrees here, too, but I guess that's different!
Interesting. I'll try this! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Army!
Yummmm making this! But instead of sugar I will use maple syrup I think as my sweetener. I haven’t decided yet between honey or maple syrup! This looks sooooo magical. Cannot wait to make and serve to my guests.
Honey would be more traditional, maple or cane syrup would be too overpowering.
In Argentina we do sangria for christmas... This is more winter recipe for colds! Great vid!
Susazeu, I can understand that. Isn't it Summer during Christmas in Argentina?
Oh God, he s so pro. My new idolll 😃

looks great
The movie "It's a wonderful life" bought me here.
How? I don't remember any mulled wine in it. Was it in the "what if?" timeline in the bar where the new character orders a drink?
It's been a week or so since I saw the movie.
@@Thalanox Yes, it is exactly in the "what if?" scene. Clarence, the Angel orders that drink.
@@WWAHP Alright, thanks for letting me know, but I was trying to hide the spoiler for the movie.
Excellent presentation, concise and to the point, no chit chat or annoying music - looks great for a winters day
Looks yum!
Now to search the cupboard for ingredients...
W O W !!!! I'll definitely make it!
PERFECTION!
Delicious!
Fantastic video !!!
Love you so much :-*

Every time I see a video title atarting with "How To" I can't help but think of HowToBasic. haha
Wow what stylish camera work and editing ;) looks great!
Very cool music, who is the artist?
wow Incredible video style
awesome video!
Smooth..
🥰perfect
Thx
do you have to drink mulled wine warm??
yes
add orange juice: squeezes it on the table
Grate an entire nutmeg? Isn't that a bit much?
they probably know what theyre doing... its 2l of wine
*****
Yes, that's what I thought, too.
West Aust Rider, the nutmeg is spread throughout the wine. It's not like one person will get all 3 teaspoons in their one cup lol!
+Jinx313 10-12 gratings is enough for 2 bottles of wine. Just so you can compare the portions with this recipe.
My thoughts exactly. Two shavings should do the trick...
more cocktail recipes please!
Could you tell me the name of background music ?
Que fino , la classe
We want more video o that guy J..
very nice video but recipe its not clear, even in your site its not clear!!!! how many lemon and lime or orange juice???
please help!
I thought the twist was the orange peel 🍊 looks delicious
aweesssommee videoooo, like this video edit!
Do we have caster sugar
But there are so many types of red wine. Which do you use for mulled wine? I need recommendations
I came here after watching BTS Bon Voyage which Yoongi make Vin Chaud for the members😂
Me too
Same 😂😂😂
There's so many words I don't know in one sentence
So, quick question. What kind of red wine would you recommend for making Mulled wine?
Geoffrey Massey any dry red wine
It remind me of brazilian wine quentão, but instead of rum we use cachaça
Did he put the lime and lemon juice as well or just a peel ?
+Igor Stankovic seems like he didn't put it in, but I'm sure it will be good with the juices as well. you can probably add a little bit more sugar or honey, if it gets too sour
He did.
0:07 - "This is my twisted wine with a mull."
A mug of this might even pull Lord Mat away from a cuddle and a tickle with a pretty lass.
typical german "glühwein" which is drunk on every christmas market here, with or without alcohol.
Sanerah my thoughts exactly, adding rum (or other spirits) to mulled wine isn't a twist that's just how it's drunk...
He knows what's up
