I had TikTok as a viewer, I never posted videos. I was on it watching videos & didn't notice that an hour went by. After that, I was done and deleted the app.

Getting a hold of private information about someone is alot easier than one would think (I know, I've tested this shit out on myself and friends who gave me permission to do so).

I proved this to my daughter and you can do it yourself. go to google on your phone, type in the letters OC and look at the auto fill words it suggests. delete the letters and close the app. then start talking about ocotillo cactus using the word ocotillo about 10 times or so. then go to google and type in oc first autofill will be ocotillo plant. you can do this with other innocuous words too. use uncommon ones and you'll quickly learn that your phone is a spy for big tech companies. they and social media are ALWAYS collecting and trading your data and trying influence your behavior. if you think that's tinfoil hat theory, try another experiment: go to google images, type in happy white woman you will see that in any image depicting a woman with a man, it's a black man. cuz white women are only happy with black men. type in happy black woman you will not see any men. cuz black women are only happy without a man. do the same with happy white man or happy black man and see those trends for yourself.

This is a great video. I was a teacher for 4 years and I know that many parents don’t know how to use technology. So they need videos like this to educate them. My gf had a housemate who is 25 and she would still spend hours on the app. There were multiple kids at the school I taught at who were totally obsessed with it as well

I have no idea about personal messages because I dont talk to people, but from what I have seen when someone blocks someone all their comments on that person's content go away for everyone. Also challenges like that have been around for years, and are just an internet creation not specific to one application. Have you heard of the eraser challenge its rub yourself with an eraser as hard and as fast as you can and see how long you can do it, that leaves scars, or have you heard of the cinnamon challenge where you try to eat a spoonful of cinnamon without coughing or drinking anything people have died from that one, or the bannana Sprite challenge where you eat a whole banana and a two liter of Sprite and try not to puke. Those were challenges I heard while I was in middle and high school like 4 - 6 years ago. Now the security risks do seem kinda bad but in reality anything you put on your phone has the ability to do that. I mean any application or service that you get for free indicates that it is not the product YOU ARE. And do you remember the deal with the patriot act and how that's a whole invasion of privacy. I mean my whole childhood I was told dont put anything online that you dont want to be public we kinda had this idea that the internet was never private, now we carry around phones that have microphones that can hear everything and internal GPS devices and you dont expect some application to collect that data and store it.
We absolutely said NO to TicTok with both our kids. We pay the cell phone bills so we have their devices set up where they need permission in order to download. Neither one has tried and I’ve gin they their downloads on apple.

Yo, i'm 12 and i agree. I have seen other youtuber's opinions on tiktok and i agree with most of them. One of these youtubers being "Iamlucid" said that it takes away your focus from school couse it trains your brain to focus on somthing for about 15 secons then to change topics.
I installed it on a brand new phone that I hadnt yet transferred any data onto just to see what it did. Within the first 20 minutes, it turned on location services a grand total of 3 times, and kept turning on data sharing on its own despite me continuously turning it off. Immediately after uninstall, I factory reset the phone and have never touched the app again. And to think, my generation is obsessed with the damn thing.
I dont usually comment on videos, but everything said about the apps tracking... google does already, your browsing history, things you watch etc. thats why a lot of ads are tailored towards you, its why if I google video games, you are gonna get ads about video games, you arent private, even most apps you have on your phone do this not just tik tok. Also about the part being able to edit your age to be 18, if you let your child on the internet without restriction theres no reason to bat an eye, there are tons of adult websites that let minors in because theres only a yes/no prompt to enter the website, not much can be done about this besides parents who monitor their childrens internet, also at the end of the video you have a problem with sending information to a foreign nation. Apple, Google and major corporations in the USA at this point know everything about you through your technology, the difference is that you are giving your information to an American company rather than a company over seas.

I think having a home computer is good and fun. But personal computers and phones for kids can take them on some wild rabbit holes. Like preteen boys and girls posting what I think is called smut (may go by different names.) But I remember when I was younger using the computer to play games like Webkins and Club penguin and honestly watching youtube was fine too. But without accountability and a clear understanding by the kid then it can be real bad.

Yo, i'm 12 and i agree. I have seen other youtuber's opinions on tiktok and i agree with most of them. One of these youtubers being "Iamlucid" said that it takes away your focus from school couse it trains your brain to focus on somthing for about 15 secons then to change topics.

I installed it on a brand new phone that I hadnt yet transferred any data onto just to see what it did. Within the first 20 minutes, it turned on location services a grand total of 3 times, and kept turning on data sharing on its own despite me continuously turning it off. Immediately after uninstall, I factory reset the phone and have never touched the app again. And to think, my generation is obsessed with the damn thing.
Hell I know adults that have it.. I'm passing this information along. Thank you.

I dont usually comment on videos, but everything said about the apps tracking... google does already, your browsing history, things you watch etc. thats why a lot of ads are tailored towards you, its why if I google video games, you are gonna get ads about video games, you arent private, even most apps you have on your phone do this not just tik tok. Also about the part being able to edit your age to be 18, if you let your child on the internet without restriction theres no reason to bat an eye, there are tons of adult websites that let minors in because theres only a yes/no prompt to enter the website, not much can be done about this besides parents who monitor their childrens internet, also at the end of the video you have a problem with sending information to a foreign nation. Apple, Google and major corporations in the USA at this point know everything about you through your technology, the difference is that you are giving your information to an American company rather than a company over seas.
reldo - your phone is always listening to you. I proved this to my daughter and you can do it yourself. go to google on your phone, type in the letters OC and look at the auto fill words it suggests. delete the letters and close the app. then start talking about ocotillo cactus using the word ocotillo about 10 times or so. then go to google and type in oc first autofill will be ocotillo plant.
you can do this with other innocuous words too. use uncommon ones and you'll quickly learn that your phone is a spy for big tech companies. they and social media are ALWAYS collecting and trading your data and trying influence your behavior.
if you think that's tinfoil hat theory, try another experiment:
go to google images, type in happy white woman you will see that in any image depicting a woman with a man, it's a black man. cuz white women are only happy with black men.
type in happy black woman you will not see any men. cuz black women are only happy without a man.
do the same with happy white man or happy black man and see those trends for yourself.

401, last i checked tiktok sold to us company Oricle to avoid being banned. I dont like the app either but that is definitely a missing piece of info that should have been included
Yes TikTok collects that data to then show you similar videos that you like, exact same thing youtube does with recommended...

I think having a home computer is good and fun. But personal computers and phones for kids can take them on some wild rabbit holes. Like preteen boys and girls posting what I think is called smut (may go by different names.) But I remember when I was younger using the computer to play games like Webkins and Club penguin and honestly watching youtube was fine too. But without accountability and a clear understanding by the kid then it can be real bad.
