It was so crowded and it felt so overwhelming seeing so many crates of vinyl packed into one venue, I found it all a bit too much and if truth be told, a bit stressful!

The previous Reading fairs had been held at the Rivermead Leisure Centre, which is currently in the process of being demolished, near to the Festival grounds. Last time I was in the Students Union building was to see Mott and Lone Star in the mid 70s!
Nick, you did great at the fair mate. Top notch picks. Sham, Damned, B52's, the Judge. The last fair l was at l had a list, never bought a thing of it. Didn't stop me spending silly money on other stuff 😂
Hi Nick, The venue didn't look overcrowded like many shows. I like the look of that Reggae Tight album. Looks like a very nice copy of Machine Gun Etiquette.
I got there about 30mins or so after it started and it got busier during the time I was there. That was the main hall i showed and there was three other rooms too,so plenty to see. I still haven't played any of my purchases yet !!!
I saw Sham 69 in a pub made into a music venue about 10-12 years ago great gig but the venue lasted about a year and is now a block of flats. Good venue then hoping we can meet up there, plenty variety of sellers at Reading always. The guy that runs it is a little eccentric but nice guy. £4 to get in usually worth it because you come away with decent bargains. Cheers Nick, give us a lift next time 😉

Hey Nick Good seeing you. £4 is a bit steep for entrance fee, but that fair is reputably one of the best in the UK..( sadly, i've still never been). Some of those prices seemed pretty fair to be honest. I know what you mean about comparring records you already own, the prices can vary so much. These ' banned' artists must love the publicity, even if it's negative, it certainly doesn't tend to harm their careers, ie Pistols, MC5?..it virtually guarantees immortality. I'm yet to pick up an early pressing of Live at Leeds, because like you, i don't know what exactly you're supposed to get with all the inserts, also prices seem to vary massively depending on the pressing..bit of a minefield. I know the UK OGs on Track can go for a lot of money. Nice Machine Gun Ettiquette, that's one i need. All ths best Rob.

I'm definitely going to the next one and Mike/pc31 will hopefully be there and I might be picking up Martin/vinyl scavenger on the way down ??? I was earwigging some of the dealer chit chat and a good few of them did a London record fair the day before. One of them made £1,400 . Ref Live at Leeds.....Beatle Dave VC Channel showed an old live at leeds album he not long purchased with some inserts,not all of them I hasten to add. One of his subscribers in the comments let him know all about the pressings and what inserts etc... come with them. It was quite detailed/informative but I'd feel a bit more happy and confident if I could see exactly all the inserts in a VC video. I'm hoping Mike/PC31 might have said copy and will do a video showing every thing ??? Maybe see you at next Reading fair,all the best 👍👍👍
150 for Frankenchrist. It may be time for me to start selling records. That Sham 69 is a good find. I need the 3rd album by the Damned. I haven’t listened to Phantasmagoria since the 80’s. I should pull it out.

Judge Dread......£10 That's about right for that one. Reggae Tight was £5 I feel that's a fair price for that. B52s was £20....for a copy in that excellent condition,I thought was a good price. Phantasmagoria was £30 and I was more than happy to pay that 👍👍👍
Hi Nick, real shame I didn’t get to this one, but I will make big effort to get to next and hopefully team up. This venue looks much better than their last one and parking sounds a bit easier. Wild Planet fantastic, and it looks in wonderful condition. As you say everybody needs a bit of B-52’s, brilliant band. Those Damned records look great, you can’t be far off a studio album completist now? I’ve never seen the inner of the Hersham Boys record before, I love that artwork. Really pleased you had a great time. But I think you need to keep your hands of the nip nips 😂😂 Mike
I think I saw a woman at the fair!! Great sounding live Baggy Trousers upon entry too. I love Selecter, but I haven't heard Pauline Black's stuff. It's gotta be good if some Specials are on there too. I will buy anything of Judge Dread I see too. Would love to see your collection. Mind the nip nip sounds like the start of another Bishop/Nun joke 😂 There must be so many copies of Live At Leeds which are incomplete & beat to crap. I love Sham, but don't have any on vinyl. I still have the cassette a mate made that had Tell Us The Truth on one side & Hersham Boys on the other. I do have a lot of Damned records. They've become probably my favourite UK punk bands. I saw them in the 90's with Rat still on the kit. Shit they were good. I even lined up at Gaslight records & all of 'em except Rat signed my cd. He didn't bother to turn up to the signing. Dance This Mess Around is a banger that does it for me every time. I think that could be a thread in itself Nick. Great records you put down, couldn't find again and someone else beat you back to it 😂It's devastating, but hey first world problems. I reckon the Young Ones was the first time I saw the Damned & I think it was the Phantasmagoria era. Funny episode with Alexi Sayle as the South African vampire. Great Prince Buster poster mate. Ben....hope your covid recovery is going well and you're in fine fettle 👍👍👍 Paulines' solo stuff is ok not brilliant and that single I picked up is typical 80s happy clappy pop I suppose....she is the lead singer of The Selecter and will always be known for that. I know you're an Aussie and champion your countries bands and music etc... but it would be interesting to hear in a video how you got on with following and buying British bands records etc... especially as you've mentioned The Damned,which I'm presuming couldn't be easy to get hold of ??? I reckon you're right about The Who,plenty of tattered and torn copies of that about but all I want is a decent copy,with all the gumph that came with it at an affordable price....am I asking too much 😁 Watch out for the nip nips mate 👍👍👍
