DOOD, I watched your other tutorials years ago and I've been using the term "classic chord" all the time with my band to describe that chord. I've been wondering where I got it from and I only just realized watching this that I've been rippin ya off!
Thanks a lot for these lessons, Joey. I've learned Running Away & Game Winner over the past few months & I can really see an improvement in my piano skills. This will be the next one I learn. This is greedy of me to ask, but if you've got an off day could you teach us Competitive Streak? You played a version on NPR that was absolutely fantastic. Either way, thanks for taking the time to teach, brother. Have a good day!
"Classic" = 11 chord Ab classic = Ab 11 = 4x4322 on guitar It's also the same as saying Gb/Ab Joey loves this chord, it features prominently in Running Away too
You're a gentle teacher. I've been practicing this on and off for about 3 years and now I can finally play to the bridge!

I love Classic™ chords
The Auto generated captions are so funny
Also would be really awesome if you mentioned some of the ordinal relationships!
nolen ramminger Right on - do u mean the function tonely of the chords within a key?
Joey Dosik yeah exactly! Love the videos. Thanks!
FOREAL that would be awesome... such a great teacher, and I appreciate all the breakdowns!
I did the best I could to transpose something on guitar. It kind of works
I would probably call that "Ab classic" just Ab11 or maybe Ab11 (no3)
