Just did my 2nd fill-up after driving nearly 1,100 miles over 3.5 weeks. 75% of that was pure electric. I charge it overnight on a standard 110 outlet, and most days, stay within the 32 mile electric range. We took a couple longer trips on the weekends and got 30 MPG on the highway. The electric from plugging it in costs me about $1.40 per day. Since that gets about the same distance as a gallon of gas, I figure I save around $1.50 per day in gas cost, or $45 a month. So far, so good.
@@tomf429 yes, i was able to re-purpose a 240 line that (at one point) ran out the back of the garage to a hot tub. I wired in a NEMA 14 50 plug and it has been awesome!
I'm generally a fan of mine, the winter efficiency loss is pretty terrible though. Runs the engine every time you need defrost regardless of battery state, and when the battery is already full the transmission gets confused and starts jerking the car around. Definitely still the undisputed king of the intersection of practical people moving and efficiency.
this is perfect for me. i have a 21 Pinnacle. most of my daily driving is within the range of the electric. I miss the vacuum and the stow n go seats. the seats are removable but they are a bit heavy. After some practice they can be removed easily. the drivetrain is awesome. i love the instant torque. this vehicle is really smooth and quiet. My 17 had transmission issues and the build quality was poor. The 21 is quieter, better ride, and is well assembled and the uconnect and navi are much better.
To be honest, the only bad thing is the plunge-in, which is almost useless in highways. I drove from Ohio to Penn fully charged, and my e-mile was about 80 miles and 120 gas mileage. In return, which was not charged, the e-mile was 71 and 133 gas. Both ways were driven mostly using cruz control.
My 2018 is awesome to date Not to mention the $7500 actual fed tax credit. Also Getting a bit over 100 mpg fill ups are 6 to 8 weeks apart. I use factory 110 charger for over night and I also have ClipperCreek HCS-40P, 240V, 32A, EV Charging Station, with 14-50 plug, 25 ft cable,$600 for occasional quick charges
I have a 2018 Pacifica Hybrid Ltd with about 37,000 miles. I have been absolutely happy with the car EXCEPT for the previous recalls and now the most recent (issued 2/25) the Z11/NHTSA 22V-077 which tops them all and especially so occurring during the gas increases. I would like to hear your thoughts if you still have yours. I plan to sell mine as soon as the recall is fixed.
you can take the middle seats out. There are 2 bad things about the Hybrid. 1 No stow and go 2. No heated middle seats. beside that we love it. Over 100K now.
cant speak to the tesla.....but iknow that there is range anxiety with it. not so with the pacifica. best of both worlds. long trip no prob in pacifica...millions of gas stations. 30 mpg as regular hybrid aint so bad. not the greatest. but i make up for it around town on electric and i charge it from my 240v solar set up so now we are talkin somthin very different. green emissions and green backs. not the best hybrid, plugin or internal combustion.....but put em all together in a versatile roomy pacifica minivan with some options and i love it
It is still doing great. We had to replace a wheel baring, and the motor mount feels like it has gone out again but besides that it runs great. I will get about 30 miles to the charge.
@@moorecartalk3746 Thank you! Was trying to make up my mind whether to go with the pachy or sienna. I'm worried about the Pacifica's long term battery degradation.
We have not had really any problems. The backup camera glitched once but has never done it again. The passenger driver seat heater turns off faster then the driver. Besides that it has been a great van.
pacifica hybrid is a piece of junk! do not buy, the charging system will fail within 30k miles. chrysler changed the transmission on my friend's 2021 pacifica hybrid but 10k miles later it failed again.

That's awesome! I just got a 2021 PacHy and did my first fill-up at 1600 miles

Looking at the Pacifica Hybrids. It's been 3 years since you filmed this. Can we get an update?

My wife and I are going to order one today! I thing the Limited.Anyway thanks for the video, it helped in my decision!!
Just seeing this comment now. How have you enjoyed your Pacifica Hybrid thus far?

I do miss the Stow and Go that we had on our Dodge Grand Caravan.

we had a rental 2021 pacifica eHybrid, such a good car, the onboard GPS is amazing.

I was considering the 2022 plug-in. Are any of the recalls affecting the newer models? Would you buy a newer model?
I still have ours, and I am still charging it. 12 vans out of 20,000, that is less then 1%. I will roll the dice.
How’s the Pacifica doing? Thinking about getting one
Can you take the middle seats off . I know because of the battery you can’t store below but can you take it off and have same cargo capacity

I worry about the longevity of a battery with unmanaged thermals. I wish someone would just make an awesome EV van covered in solar.
Looks like solar EV cars are all went bankrupt
It may be more practical, but the the resale value and major repair reliability will likely be less.
I wouldnt say better than tesla because I own both a pacifica and model , but the pacifica is very comfortable and great value!
Better than a Tesla if you plan on hauling kids within a 30 mile range, but the Tesla is more of a true EV

Is it make any difference in cost between 110 to 220
Just the charging time is shorter. Most charge stations are in 220s

If you hit a pedestrian, the investigator will find it disconnected... and you will face additional criminal charges. Don't be stupid.

Try selling it when it is out of warranty…

Sorry to hear that. Mine has 105k on it and beside a electric motor mount and will hub bearing we have no problems with it.
Don’t forget to change the oil…
You said you got the best deal in America, but you didn’t talk about the number.
When I bought it in 2019 we payed about $28K for it. Most of the other Hybrid Vans were about $31k
It's a fossil fuel car with electric supplement.

The clue is that you need to periodically add "Fossil fuel"...
Rt, your rt! Thx.
Rented one of this and the hybrid part is just a gimmick. Charge 18 hours to get 20 miles 🥴🥴🥴
2.5 hours on level 2 charger
the video image is too poor, you need to fix it more
Haha!
