Just bought our first house recently and used a few of your videos to choose the appliances that we had to buy. Very informative. Thanks for making these
Perhaps you should have considered desiccant type dehumidifiers..... "Ambient Temperature - Desiccant dehumidifiers work well in ambient temperature range between 1 to 40 degrees Celsius. Compressor dehumidifiers only work well between 16 to 40 degree Celsius." In our home and use a compressor type dehumidifier was very much useless. The difference when using the desiccant type was amazing in the water extraction.
I use compressor DH to dry shipping storage container and it works well around 10C degrees or more. I don't bother to run it around 5C, because it is too cold and I don't want to waste solar power. Absorbtion DH heats the air and uses more power, so compressor could reach effectively the same performance, just ad some heating. At 20C it is the most efficient.
Great video! Just purchased a Meaco dehumidifier. Ive had it a couple of months now and the difference that it has made has been very significant. Even the house feels warmer. Just today ive ordered a smaller model from Meaco for the conservatory. Ive gone for a dessicant one this time. Apparently this type is better for rooms that get very cold. Hope it is as good as the other.
It depends on ventilation, but humidity will eventually equalise. You can also use a fan to stir the air. I would move it between floors. Also, put monitors in each room.
Good video, but the main thing you missed out is heat pump/refrigerant or desiccant type. Two different technologies for different uses and ambient temperatures.
I was just going to say the same, No1 the types of dehumidifier seems missing 😂. And would have been helpful as I didnt know dessicant existed and its pros and cons
Does your company have a small pump to drain the water and push it up to about 50 inches to drain in a normal kitchen sink. This feature is very important in my case. You probably have a tiny little pump that hooks up to your system. Your response is very important.
Fantastic video mate. Tell me something about the number of bedrooms and extraction rates that u mentioned please. You are using it in one bedroom at a time or placeing it in the hallway? Because there is a dehumidifier company that states that their dehumidifer will work on multiple rooms if placed in the central hallway. Will that actually work if the doors to multiple rooms are open? How will it switch off when a certain threshold is reached in such a case? In this case, it will take the humidity level in the hallway to switch off I am guessing?
Most dehumidifiers will work in a hallway rather than just in an individual room but will clearly not be as effective in each room as it is trying to dehumidify several rooms in 1 go. It can still switch off when it it reaches a certain threshold it is almost taking an average of all the rooms.
Hopefully it should work ok but leave it switched on all the time rather than on and off when it is needed as it will stand a better chance of getting all 3 bedrooms sorted for you
Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
I'm I the US which ones have a laundry mode thank you! I also need it to be 10 to 15 c I think for me it's 50f or 60f I'm in an apartment electric heat so doesn't do a good job on Dehumidifying
Hi I have just bought a Hangsun 12L. The power button hardly works & hard to understand am turning it on at the plug . Also can I use an extension lead? Perhaps I should have bought a bigger one . I have a Victorian house & all the rooms are about 11ft square . Thanks Ann
Peter I get very hot legs in the summer and especially when it’s raining is it Humidity and would a Dehumidifier help me? BTW I live in a small flat and have not mould as I always have my window open Hopefully you will see if after all this time Brilliant video as always 😋
Hi Andrew you might want to consider a portable air conditioning unit rather than a dehumidifier. I bought an AEG model from John Lewis and am very happy with it. Not cheap but on hot days significantly cools down my 20 foot long lounge where I work if very hot during the day. One thing though to be aware of... Out of the back of the unit is a 5 inch diameter hose which has to go out of the slightly open window to expel the hot air extracted via the compressor. I have made a plate that has a hole for the hose that goes in the window gap to reduce outside ambient hot air coming into the chilled room. I only use the unit around 10 days a year when temp is over 22 degrees but very thankful for it.
What size would you recommend for drying out moisture in car carpet underlay in ford focus mk3 hatch after having water leaks? I’ve wet vacuumed most water in carpets but need to dry properly
Which one do you recommend with a big tank please? Badly in need of one as we just had to throw practically everything in our house out due to damp permeating throughout the whole house! Furniture curtains everything! So we are in need of your recommendation for a really good one!
You didn't mention what a good DB noise rating is good for a 12 or 25l dehumidifier. I was thinking of just getting a 25L for the extra large water container, but if it will be noticably louder I"m not sure I would want it, Also because you were wearing a lapel Mic close to your mouth we probably weren't hearing how loud your demo unit was
Hi Thank you for the video. I'm in the US and I don't know what you mean by liters. I'm in a one-bedroom one-bath, but I only need to dehumidify the main area by the kitchen and living room. Could you tell me what would be a good size for that area. I think the whole apartment is like 700 square feet or something like that?
I live in a 3 bed and the humidity in home is 70 in every room will one of these do all my home or do I have to buy more than one a reply would be very grateful 👍
The most important choice I would say is “what type of dehumidifier technology is being used. Desiccant are generally more expensive to run, but are much more effective at temps below 18 degrees. Desiccants also tend to warm the atmosphere, where as compressors don’t.
I'm now looking at these 2 models, do you sell them and any good deals you can do please,? ebac 4250 with smart control and MeacoDry Arete One 20L Dehumidifier / Air Purifier Many thanks

The manufacturers usually state this for each model.

It's better to buy two medium size ones instead of a bigger one.
For continuous drainage you will need one with a pump for emptying the tank unless you are draining a very short distance on gravity.

Is it recommend to keep it on 24hrs a day?
If it's in an area that gets quite damp then yes it can help to have it on low all the time.
