would you recommend a water supply that drips on the blade for clearing debris before the debris gets embedded in the blade?

I've seen that most units available now have a water tank on them. But I can't see from the photos (and can't find any videos) to see what happens to the drips of water. Worried they will fly everywhere and cause rust etc on the machine.

No I wouldn't recommend it. The grinding wheel runs at quite hi rpm's and not knowing where the water would fly to and water and electricity close to one another not what I consider safe.

Better off grinding lightly going around twice keeping the heat down .

To get the rake angle right on my blade it fouls on the motor casing. I will have another go in the morning. Good job you made this video as the Chinese instructions were incomprehensible.

Hi! What's the size for the grinding wheel? and also what grit of grinding wheel is best for sharpening the blades?

Very informative video. Do you know of a source or vendor where you can purchase a replacement wheel if it ever becomes necessary to replace a wheel? I hope you answer your comments and I look forward to your reply. Thank You in advance

How can I buy this machine and how much is it?

I bought one off Ebay for £140 last week, including water tank and feed for lubrication/cooling. They come from China in about a week. I have stripped mine down to clear swarf and lubricate with decent grease, and smooth the slides a tad. The build of these are pretty good for what ya pay. I am still tweaking mine, to get the machine as slick as possible before I sharpen a blade.

@@briannewton3535 how do you find the water cooling? Where do the drips of water end up? Any issues of the machine getting covered in water spray and rusting? Is there a tray to collect the water? Thanks

@@onewood9543 Hi. I have sharpened four blades now, and to be honest I never set up for the water, well, I did, but found it just a little bulky, and I had the same concerns as yourself, so I tried it dry to avoid the hassle and mess. My blades were simply dull, and not chipped, so the amount taken off to sharpen was minimal. and things weren't getting hot, and there was absolutely no sign of burning, so I have never put water through it. It also stores a lot easier without the tank on.
I would suspect there would be spray, I suspect it could be messy, and collecting the water from the sump would need to be considered. It has paid for itself now, just on four blade sharpens.
I'm sorry I can't give you the feedback you wanted.

@@briannewton3535 That's really helpful, thank you. I will go ahead and buy one, and use without the tank. Got loads of blades that need a simple sharpen, and sending them off to be resharpened has become unviable for most blades as costs for this have increased.

Major information missing!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember that every other tooth is angled. one to the right and one to the left on most saw blades. you have to skip a tooth (do every other one) then re-set the angle for the other teeth, much like a chainsaw blade!!!!!!!

majority of blades on the market have flat faces with alternate tops. the alternate bevel face saws you are referring to are few and far between and considered specialist saws for particular specific tasks. this machine is capable of sharpening those saws and as you noted skip every other tooth just like you would on alternate bevel top saws. Also blades can come with a flat top as well as alternate bevel. just thought I would mention that so you dont comment to someone else sharpening one that they are doing it wrong 😊
