Idi Amin challenged Tanzania Prime Minister Julius Nyerere, who was a white haired and small elder, to a boxing match when he heard of Tanzania going on a counter offense. He also wanted Muhammad Ali to be the referee
Amin didn't make the boxing challenge on equal terms though. He offered to fight Nyerere with one hand tied behind his (Amin's) back to make it even. Nyerere was 5'3 while Amin was 6'4 and former heavy weight boxing champion of Uganda. Nyerere quietly chose to fight with his army instead. 😅

He: So, do think Idi wouldn't eat pork because it was prohibited in his religious belief, and would go on to eat humans? I: 😕😕
Please do fromer Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, who is likely the most important modern African leader. 1. As a young General his victories ended the Nigerian Civil War (1967 - 1970) 2. When people feared the end of the war would lead to ethnic massacres he turned around and defended the people he just conquered from his own army. 3. Twice he was persuaded to replace a dictator and both times handed the country back to democracy. Critically, he not only stepped down but refused to run in either election. 4. He spent 4 years in prison for opposing another military dictatorship, 5. When the dictator died he was released and this time ran for president and won in 1999 and was reelected in 2003 for his final term. 6. He somehow held together the nation that had every reason to implode, yet left the nation in 2007 in a state that has seen seven presidential elections and multiple peaceful transfers of power. The near exclusion of Obasanjo in these educational videos about African rulers on youtube, when he should have the most, is a confounding phenomenon. Yet it follows the pattern of ignoring the best of Africa and highlighting the worst

Idi Ammn had about 300-500.000 victims, where he had the right to kill anyone who did not like him or who did not want to obey. Do you like being someone's slave? People like him will declare human rights, your rights, the intrigues of enemies, and they will assert their unlimited power under the pretext of caring for the nation. But in this nation there will be no place for those who have their own opinions and who dare to argue with a stupefied idiot who has abou 4 grades of education.

"Big Daddy" was both reviled and admired by Uganda and other African nations today believe it or not...The man was something else, and a film was made about him [Idi Amin...The rise and fall/1981] enraged him very much, that he wanted the director and all involved killed. This newer film was decades before the latest one. Peace
I never expected such a comparison.
Idi Amin challenged Tanzania Prime Minister Julius Nyerere, who was a white haired and small elder, to a boxing match when he heard of Tanzania going on a counter offense. He also wanted Muhammad Ali to be the referee
Bro was insane lol
Amin didn't make the boxing challenge on equal terms though. He offered to fight Nyerere with one hand tied behind his (Amin's) back to make it even. Nyerere was 5'3 while Amin was 6'4 and former heavy weight boxing champion of Uganda. Nyerere quietly chose to fight with his army instead. 😅

I swear bro, Tanzania is probably one of or the most Chad African countries. During WW1, before Tanzania was independent, they held out against France, Belgium, Portuguese, and the British until Germany surrendered. And during Idi Amin offensive into Tanzania, they counter attacked and liberated Uganda.
There is no African country more Chad than Chad.
@@badgerattoadhall true. There was never any concrete evidence he took part in cannibalizing his enemies. However it is known he was personally responsible for the deaths of thousands if not hundreds of thousands.
I was not even aware of such accusations against Amin, as far as I recall that was Bokassa and not Amin.

I am from north western Uganda and I laughed at the fact that you just called my home village remote and unknown
My grandmother, who is a very nice woman by the way, absolutely hated him and earlier this year, they visited me and my family and when I brought Idi Amin up, she said that he would have spoken about everything that he did with a smile on his face. I also said that if Saudi Arabia had extradited him to Uganda to face trial, then I could guarantee that an angry mob would have descended upon the airport and killed him. Obviously, she was quick to agree and said that they would have dismembered him and honestly, I wouldn't blame them.
I met Idi Amin's minister of interior long time ago. I asked him about Idi Amin's rumored cannabalism. That man told me it was a "Western propaganda"! Here's part of our unforgettable conversation:
He: Do you know Idi was a Muslim, right?
I: Yes!

Do you understand that such love is a disaster? in fact, this is slavish loyalty to the propaganda of those who killed en masse people like you.
Good to see this monster is remembered for what he was. You might want to also do a video on Bokassa, the dictator of the Central African Republic who was another suspected cannibal and tried to make himself an emperor like Napoleon.

Wtf. If not him it could have been a normal /slightly corrupt or other just completely average leader. Like Kwame Nkrumah in Ghana. Building a feeling of nationality over tribalism and group/religious connections and creating the stability needed to slowly accostom the people to fully democracy. Even just the Switch to democracy needs decades in most countries, the turmoil after suddenly being de-occupied is massive. Especially since not being a colony anymore doesn't just magically split the country and what happened/continues to happen from the Former coloniser lmao. Just look at France and it's former colonies. Sadly many people don't care enough to actually educate themselves on literally anything further away than their Supermarked, let alone third world nations
