So this is processed raffia paper yarn correct? I am learning about raffia. Want to make some sun hats. Have made several with lion brand rewind yarn. The cleo fedora hat. I think the Raffia is probably the way to go unless u need to cram the hat in luggage.

Have you tried using the regular yarn ? I just found this and I’m thinking of using red heart yarn and making it stiff with glue or something like that.

I am pretty sure that is a 'knit' or 'waistcoat' or stich. Other videos specifically on that stitch will break it down better for you. Basically she's going through the middle of the post.

Not sure how to make sense of it. I’ve got
    Magic ring
    6 SC
    1 double in each = 12
    1 SC + 1 double = 18
    1 double + 2 SC = 24
    1 double + 3 SC = 30
And hen I get lost, honestly I don’t understand the 6 row. You move 1 stitch or something ?
    And then R7 = 5 SC + 1 double and you do that for row 8 and 9 ?
    Row 10 all SC that’s ok 😅
And after row 11 to 16 ? I don’t get how when you do the edges you start with 15 SC + 1 double crochet.
I’m sure I’m gonna figure this out buuuuut how long it’s gonna take me it’s another story 😂
But the hat is so beautiful it’s worth it 😁

It's rigilene boning. It is commonly used in corset and dress making but I'm sure it would work great in hats as well. Unlike wire it won't warp or bend.
