I freeze gallons of water (usually in milk jugs) and cut it out putting them in the water trough or hang them from trees. I've caught the horses hanging out under the dripping water (I hang them high since we have tall horses).
I made mini ice treats you mentioned in a icecube tray, my horse Loveddddd it - it gets really warm and hot early where i live
This helped a lot, but just only if I had a horse! 🐴😖
i feel the same! my step dad say if me and my siblings prove ourself worthy ,if you will, that he would lease a horse for us. i'm preparing. but i think that me and my two siblings should get outr own horse but thats just me!

Putting apples straight into their water bucket leaves them occupied and technically forces them to dring when trying to get the apples out
Emma Karjalainen yeah and it’s good for them to drink! To stay hydrated and it’s a good taste with the apple juice! Same way we eat popsicles.
I would be scared of my horse accidentally inhaling water, if that’s possible lol
Yea that’s why she puts the apples in there because if they don’t drink they can get sick
These are all great hacks to keep ponies comfortable! Just please be careful with the braids- I’ve heard horror stories of freak accidents where horses rub on fences or trees and get the braids caught, which causes them to panic and pull, and the braids will not pull out, so they can break bones and pull muscles! Usually it’s no big deal, and your fences look super safe and practical! Just be careful! Loved this video! Such great hacks!

I tried the Gatorade and the frozen apples and carrots and my horse, Prince absolutely LOVED it he wouldn’t go away from the water bucket and was always near the ice during turnout

I live in Florida I put a fan on my horse and I don’t ride in the heat but thank you about the popsicle idea that will help a lot I also make sure his water is real cool and not hot in the heat

Omg so handy! I’m not a rider *yet* and it get really hot here in Australia at times it can get to 40 degrees, maybe 41 (I know hot!) but it happens mainly in summer so always sunny! And when I own a horse and it’s hot. I know what to do!
For my two horses I put a fan in there stalls and I leave a hose on for 30 minuets in the morning and night. Hopefully you can find these helpful as well!

I loved the vid! :D another thing i do is because i have three dams on my property so in the hot summer i like to just ride the horses down there in a halter and bareback or they can just go in whenever they want :)

Here is a tip for you if you give your horses cold water many you should try diving them room temperature water because if you give them cold water there body will want to heat up that cold water up but with room temperature it will cool them also just wanted to let you know I love your channel
My pony has sweet itch so he has a fan in his stable as it keeps the air moving almost like wind and the flies hate that so they stay away. However, it's also useful as it cools down most the stable block and when you bring the horses in during the hottest period that would help
My Aunt has 3 geldings ( Duke,Doc,Dronamo) i tried the Popsicle and they loved it!

A horse summer hack that I do is where I live it gets like Inferno hot and when we have days like this in the summer I always bring my horse in and set a large fan in front of his stall and I also provide him with horse pop sickles,jolly balls,and hay to keep him occupied while in his stall all day then at night I'll let him out again

Omg! I have that exact same lighy up horse thing in the background(bg)! Also, ur horses look like some that I ride. Another thing is, that "hay string" is twine.
for my horses, once the sun starts to get bad, we put up shades on the sides of their stalls so they get more shade.
that makes no sense so i’ll try to explain better lmao
my horses have stalls that have a huge open slot on the side that the sun sits during the day. when that happens they only have a very small amount of shade in their stalls. my trainer and i have been putting up these large “sheets” that are super thick and block out the sun. we also have a horse with photo-sensitivity who requires a blacked out stall, and this works really well for them.
