    in the summer you can chop up apples and carrots, put them in a bowl with water and freeze them. then when it's frozen take it out of the bowl and give it to your horses

      Non horse related - I also use my old one to clean areas in my house (gas hobs, window frames, corners in the shower, sink holes)

    Good tip: if you give your horse a treat before the ride to me during the ride they know that you have more treats so they can stay calm. This worked with the horse I ride almost every time. Also give them more treats after the ride so they know they were a good boy/girl.

    • @ashtonsawesomeaussieanimal2133
      @ashtonsawesomeaussieanimal2133 2 роки тому +1

      Its not a good idea to give a horse some treats before a ride like if u give them a lot they can get frisky and spicy 😅

    FYI The first hack shown actually partially utilizes the flaps on a western saddle meant for this purpose. If you look to either side of your pommel you will see two flaps attached via a concho. The near side flap will have a horizontal slot meant to thread your latigo through when it is not in use. The off side flap will have a vertical slot meant for the cinch buckle the exact way she shows you. It's less a hack and more that most have forgotten the reason these flaps exist and that they aren't just decorative.

      I use Safe-T ties or something like that when I go to races and have to tie, but at home I don’t tie. (My horse tries to kill herself when she’s tied so I make it easier on both of us)

    • @kyleharris2506
      @kyleharris2506 7 років тому +2

      Yeah we were brought up to use twine as well cause if they pull back they can just break the twine instead of their neck

    • @andicarusfell8387
      @andicarusfell8387 6 років тому +1

      Niamh AndBentley Oh I have cross ties/ cross latches because they are like clips or latches. I think the horses can still breakaway. I don’t own a horse so I ride at a stable so I’m not entirely sure if they can breakaway

    I am interested in getting a horse, but i'm a beginner. I like watching your videos because they tell me everything i need to know about horse. I really want to know how you put your horses to sleep. Do you put them in their stall at night and let them out in the morning or do you keep them out in the pasture all night? I think you should make a video about your horses daily routine. Just a thought, because it would really help me out.
    P.S. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!

    Best cleaning Equestrian hack is if you use galvanized watering troughs and they get dirty, don't bother using a sponge or SOS pad use DIRT and a sponge! It works great. Also if you change you water frequently and live in a warm enough climate you can add fish to water to eat the mold and extra hay in your water troughs, always keeps your houses entertained! 😀

    very great video. but the water trough idea was okay. but for me since i own a really really big ranch with about 32 some acres and have tons of horses we like to use a heater for the winter just for our water trough and it keeps it from freezing up. we own about 28 some horses and there all in different parts of the ranch n im very busy teaching lessons so i wouldnt have time to do all that. but anyways that video was a very helpful idea for me i will show it to some of my beginner English Riders and see what they think. because that is what most of my table is are English Riders we do got some western riders but mostly English.
