in the summer you can chop up apples and carrots, put them in a bowl with water and freeze them. then when it's frozen take it out of the bowl and give it to your horses
Good tip: if you give your horse a treat before the ride to me during the ride they know that you have more treats so they can stay calm. This worked with the horse I ride almost every time. Also give them more treats after the ride so they know they were a good boy/girl.
Heyyy!! I ride western as well and I just started riding regularly your tips are really helpful and they help me become a better rider not just this video but every video thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️
HorseLover _2004 Idk either why you would but it's a good Idea to so you have all the knowledge possible! That's what I'm doing since my new house in Georgia has two horses! They will be my first :)
Love these hacks! Good tip for equestrians in the summer- Freeze apple slices, a teeny bit of organic apple juice, and water in a cup for a fun summer treat for your horse!
FYI The first hack shown actually partially utilizes the flaps on a western saddle meant for this purpose. If you look to either side of your pommel you will see two flaps attached via a concho. The near side flap will have a horizontal slot meant to thread your latigo through when it is not in use. The off side flap will have a vertical slot meant for the cinch buckle the exact way she shows you. It's less a hack and more that most have forgotten the reason these flaps exist and that they aren't just decorative.
I use Safe-T ties or something like that when I go to races and have to tie, but at home I don’t tie. (My horse tries to kill herself when she’s tied so I make it easier on both of us)
Niamh AndBentley Oh I have cross ties/ cross latches because they are like clips or latches. I think the horses can still breakaway. I don’t own a horse so I ride at a stable so I’m not entirely sure if they can breakaway
Hey! SimplyEquine27 I have a hack for cold water that has iced over! What you do is use a water bottle with salt and dip it in the trough so it doesn’t freeze forever!!! ❤️❤️ Also I love your channel!!!
Would love to see a video of just barn organisation hacks☺️ my yard is such a mess and everything goes missing. Loved the video - definitely subscribing☺️
I am interested in getting a horse, but i'm a beginner. I like watching your videos because they tell me everything i need to know about horse. I really want to know how you put your horses to sleep. Do you put them in their stall at night and let them out in the morning or do you keep them out in the pasture all night? I think you should make a video about your horses daily routine. Just a thought, because it would really help me out. P.S. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!
All your tips where sooooooooo, helpful, THANK YOU!!!! but the only thing is.....I don't have a horse.... aahahah anyway glad your all better an posting again, I missed you!!!!
I'm getting two mini horses next weekend!! I'm so excited! They will be my first horse until I get a riding horse. The most exciting thing is thy get to stay at my house like you! We're also getting baby pigs!
Also for taking water places u can get a gallon jug and bring that with a bucket that is Wht I do for shows. And to get horses to drink out apples ,carrots etc in water buckets and will encourage them to drink more
I use a certain type of mouth wash (it's safe for horses) to clean out their water troughs so that if they accidentally ingest some, it's not a big deal.
Best cleaning Equestrian hack is if you use galvanized watering troughs and they get dirty, don't bother using a sponge or SOS pad use DIRT and a sponge! It works great. Also if you change you water frequently and live in a warm enough climate you can add fish to water to eat the mold and extra hay in your water troughs, always keeps your houses entertained! 😀
i used the twine string one on the side of my trailer and it is a life saver, my horse just pulls back for no reason and with the twine she has never injered anyone or broken a halter or leadrope, thanks for the hack
very great video. but the water trough idea was okay. but for me since i own a really really big ranch with about 32 some acres and have tons of horses we like to use a heater for the winter just for our water trough and it keeps it from freezing up. we own about 28 some horses and there all in different parts of the ranch n im very busy teaching lessons so i wouldnt have time to do all that. but anyways that video was a very helpful idea for me i will show it to some of my beginner English Riders and see what they think. because that is what most of my table is are English Riders we do got some western riders but mostly English.
Once I was on the lunge and the lunge rope snapped XD and I had my hands out to the side, and I was ridding NO STYRUPS I had no control but lucky the horse stopped XD
my favorite horse tip is when my horses are in the pasture and I dont want to go get them so I grab the treat tub and put rocks or treats in it and they will come to the sound becuuase they think it is treats. even is it is not.
Hi!! I watch your videos all the time and I just got a new horse!!! Her name is Lola!! I have 1 question What type of conditioner did you use for the detangler spay?? Or does it matter?? Sorry I’m New to this stuff if u couldn’t tell 😂
in the summer you can chop up apples and carrots, put them in a bowl with water and freeze them. then when it's frozen take it out of the bowl and give it to your horses
Carla Schultz I'm so gonna try this 😂😂😂
Carla Schultz wow I'm going to do that!
Carla Schultz Great hack my horse loves it
Carla Schultz Yas popsicles for horses!!
I do that every summer lol
Here’s a hack!
1.Use a electric toothbrush to clean Spurs,Stirrups, and any small iron pieces
Itzdannythexposer so u can be prepared its never to early
Nice
Ty this will help so much lol
Non horse related - I also use my old one to clean areas in my house (gas hobs, window frames, corners in the shower, sink holes)
Woah! Digging all your hacks but your hay net hack is total gold!
Good tip: if you give your horse a treat before the ride to me during the ride they know that you have more treats so they can stay calm. This worked with the horse I ride almost every time. Also give them more treats after the ride so they know they were a good boy/girl.
Its not a good idea to give a horse some treats before a ride like if u give them a lot they can get frisky and spicy 😅
I'm a new western rider and watching you videos makes me so happy and helps me so much !
simply horse28 Awe I’m so glad!!♥️

Heyyy!! I ride western as well and I just started riding regularly your tips are really helpful and they help me become a better rider not just this video but every video thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️

... why am I looking at hacks if I don’t even have a horse... (btw I might get one next year). But yea why now ?!
HorseLover _2004 Idk either why you would but it's a good Idea to so you have all the knowledge possible! That's what I'm doing since my new house in Georgia has two horses! They will be my first :)
River of Chained Delusions- we have a page on AJCW *lucky*

Love these hacks! Good tip for equestrians in the summer- Freeze apple slices, a teeny bit of organic apple juice, and water in a cup for a fun summer treat for your horse!
I do that every summer lol
I have been riding for 6 months in English saddle and I'm learning to jump right now and your tips really help me out
I already knew all of these, but it is always good to have a refresher
FYI The first hack shown actually partially utilizes the flaps on a western saddle meant for this purpose. If you look to either side of your pommel you will see two flaps attached via a concho. My saddle now is dark like really dark i used to use them like that but it rubbed and now you can see it so i now try not to
I do that to it works really good that’s how I’ve always done it
Yup! But I did that too much, and it broke 😂 so now I only do that when I’m riding
wait, not everyone ties their horse onto twine?! literally how i’ve been brought up, so have literally all my family and horsey friends?!
Niamh AndBentley You don’t have to, it’s just safer because they can break free. ☺️
Me too!
I use Safe-T ties or something like that when I go to races and have to tie, but at home I don’t tie. (My horse tries to kill herself when she’s tied so I make it easier on both of us)
Yeah we were brought up to use twine as well cause if they pull back they can just break the twine instead of their neck

It's been a while since I watched one of your videos and I've never seen that saddle before lol... I like it!!!
Using the twine to open a hay bale = genius!! Also, you were cracking me up with the "poo noodle!" ;)
I have been riding for around 3 years and these helped me I do some of these things
I don’t ride western n I don’t think I’d start but the saddles are honestly so beautiful I can’t
I luv ur videos soo much! Can u plz do a video on stuff u need for ur first horse? (As what kind of rugs, tack and things u find really useful)

These hacks are SUPER helpful!! Make more videos like this!
For the twine thing, at my stable the majority of side hook things have twine on them so it’s very handy :D
I'm getting two mini horses next weekend!! I'm so excited! They will be my first horse until I get a riding horse. The most exciting thing is thy get to stay at my house like you! We're also getting baby pigs!
Emory Heider So exciting!!!♥️
What are you gonna name the pigs?
Keegan Harris ummm...I'm not sure. Got any suggestions?
Are they boys or girls
Keegan Harris 2 girls and 1 boy
Also for taking water places u can get a gallon jug and bring that with a bucket that is Wht I do for shows. And to get horses to drink out apples ,carrots etc in water buckets and will encourage them to drink more

I was always told that The part that goes under the belly is the girth and the strap that you tie to the girth is the cinch.
That saddle is gorgeous

Of course great video and gorgeous horses👍🐴
+Mikaela Silcock Thank you!

Can you do a tack hall or how to tell what tack size will fit your horse or somthing like that
It would be awesome if you did some tips on cantering and jumping, I’m just getting into that stuff.

OMG your saddle is soooo pretty!!!!!!!!!
+Lindsey Livingston Thank you so much!!!
What kind of conditioner do you use? How much should you put in there? Do you have to wash it out between applications?
oml these were so helpful even tho i'm not a beginner :O
goddamn the barrel method for hay is such a good idea
To stop our water freezing we put salt in a bottle and tighten it up really tight so no salt gets out and it stops it freezing we do it all the time
This is so helpful ☺️👍
THANK YOU THESE ARE LIFE SAVERS
you are amazing i tried some of the hacks and they are so helpful and they work
very great video. but the water trough idea was okay. but for me since i own a really really big ranch with about 32 some acres and have tons of horses we like to use a heater for the winter just for our water trough and it keeps it from freezing up. we own about 28 some horses and there all in different parts of the ranch n im very busy teaching lessons so i wouldnt have time to do all that. but anyways that video was a very helpful idea for me i will show it to some of my beginner English Riders and see what they think. because that is what most of my table is are English Riders we do got some western riders but mostly English.

Your saddle is so pretty
Jessi Vietz Thank you!!
Hi!! I watch your videos all the time and I just got a new horse!!! Her name is Lola!!
I have 1 question
What type of conditioner did you use for the detangler spay?? Or does it matter?? Sorry I’m New to this stuff if u couldn’t tell 😂
CheyVlogs you can go to Walgreens and get horse conditioner/shampoo or order it online! 😃🐴🐎🐎🐎🐎
Super helpful!!!💜😘
When you said go to Walmart or the dollar store, where do you go if you don't live somewhere that has Walmart or the dollar store
What saddle do you have? I’m looking for one and I love yours!
I have a double t barrel saddle ☺️
Not to be rude or anything but when u put the Latigo/cinch on the saddle that means your horses sweat is going onto the saddle
When you say conditioner do you mean like you can use the one that is for human hair??
the first life hack is called the 4 h knot (head hind horn hoof)
I showed the filling up hay hack to my friend and now she loves me hahaha
I know this is old but is the detangler spray cheaper then store bought?
Thanks I learned so much !
