There is someone out there who has a knitting pile of shame (and you know it exists) that could benefit from watching you. Your videos are fantastic! I can't wait for my weekly injection of positivity! Sincerely: A fellow Goonie!

The difference between opportunity and same I think varies between awareness of what you have. As you said, you felt shame for something that was primed but forgotten about. I get the same, nothing worse than digging up a miniature that you have forgotten you primed waiting to paint.
I like opportunity as it creates a level of anticipation and excitement, shame gives a feeling of dread and apathy.

  • @normanlennox4949

For me they really are a pile of opportunity. I do custom terrain for clients on the side. I deliberately build up things that I know I can use to make X or Y, and get them listed in my shop.
As for unfinished projects, they are a wonderful way for me to test ideas if I've lost enthusiasm for what the final result was supposed to be.
    Another great video, sir.

It's not mine, steal away!! 🤣😅
I forgot my cardinal rule, quote your sources, it's actually Bruce Lee, and there are few better men, no, PERSON who would love to have their words stolen in such a way.
Another source, more familiar to our generation would be "Magic is the art and science of causing change in conformity with will" (Alistair Crowley)
Is it a pile of shame, or a pile of opportunity?
What is our hobby, in all its myriad forms, but magic? Turning the mundane into the magical? The role of a die, the drawing of a card, chicken scrawls on a piece of paper, the sum process of injection moulded plastic being hand crafted and turned into art? Crafting stories?
Turning lead into gold, the literal meaning of alchemy?
Here is one you can steal, Reality is for those with no imagination.

You OWE me nothing Ignatius, but I appreciate the thought.
I had to look up Grant Morrison, and you are hitting a period where my kids where more front and centre in my mind rather than reading comics. I have heard of his works, (not by name), but the one that stuck out was Doom Patrol, which I HAVE seen the series adaption of on netflix.
THAT is some dark stuff, and I LOVED it.
Hmm, The Crow, Blade, V for Vendetta and Doom Patrol, I am noticing a theme here............

I LOVE the game, but assembling mini's and painting them is NOT my forte, in fact, I have screwed some of them up royally just trying to put them together. Sometimes I miss the time when mini's were pewter, or more likely lead.

My main two problems for my pile of shame is 1) I have too many hobbies and split my time up between RPG writing (I plan to release a horror game soon), running games, drawing for said games, painting minis, and playing games. The nature of the beast means some things get put on the back burner for a bit. The upside is I never get bored since I cycle through one hobby and another. But it can get annoying. And there is only so much time in a day.

    • @tabletopalchemy

When I look at my so call pile of shame. I just ask myself. Why the F$%& did I not finish that? Ok I can blame part of that on my ADD and some on just working on other projects. I sometimes work on three or more models at the same time. I know that sounds funny and my hobby table becomes full incredibly fast. Some times my audio projects get put off to the side when that happens. The funny part is I do get them done. I promise myself not to get so backed up on my hobbies and then just do it all over again. I am still working on some dialog for a Orc King. I have the stuff on paper.
