Getting to perform this piece in Japan with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Tokyo Band is the highlight of my 19-year trumpet playing career so far. I’ll never forget the amazing experience! Every time I hear this piece, it brings tears to my eyes.
Watching this anime makes me feel sad and dissapointed when I look back my school time. It wasn't so colorful like this and wasn't really focus on anything like characters in anime :( But.. past can't be changed, future can. Now as the second year college student, I've learned do everything with all my heart :3 By the way, after watching this series, I've deceided to learnt instrument and now I've had one-year experience on playing guitar :3 *What a great anime series :3
I'm 26 now... And those animes makes me feel a little sad, cause here in Brazil we don't have anything like those clubs in school where you can learn cool stuff and have a great time with some poeple that want to learn the same thing as you. I play Bass for 15 years now, but because my parents payd me a particular professor... And it is not as exciting as playing in a big band like in the anime
I learned the trumpet 1 week after watching this anime. Had a rocky start since I'm more of a string and keyboard player but doing fine right now I guess
As a trumpet player, it is always wonderful to by hear people say that! You can do it, and good luck! It will take a lot of work hitting those high notes and making it crisp, but it is never impossible!
I love how someone who hasn’t seen the anime would just hear a normal song but people who have know each individual sound and what it means it’s pretty fking cool
I really love the way that they show how everyone is passionate and play their hardest as an ensemble, not only main characters and all! Brings me to tears seeing everyone of them being part of an awesome team
I actually started learning trumpet cause of this haha. I'm in my schools marching band and we are headed to our second comp after we won first in our last one. I don't regret anything to be honest and the memories I've already made are amazing.
I was in concert band for 2 years and played percussion but now that I finally finished this anime, it really makes me want to play the trumpet. Something about the combination of the anime and the ethereal music makes me tear up everytime I listen to Reina's solo. I hope one day I will be able to get a trumpet and be able to learn this :))
I just became a fan of this series (I’m currently in the middle of season 2) and this piece immediately caught my ear... Both solos (Reina’s and Mizore’s) legit had me in tears, they’re as beautiful as Reina (yeah she’s my favorite girl) If I wasn’t a fan of wind instruments before, now I am!
Carlos Castor damn I used to think Reina was best girl, but after they took her teacher crush so seriously it took her down a peg or two. Her views on musicianship are also kind of toxic imo
@@iliyajavadian Would've been 2017 for me. I Didn't get on the sound euphonium train before it finished it's run, so I was so pumped when I got the see the last movie in theatres

Eli Ramer Thank you very much I posted this because I didn't find the right version of it anywhere on youtube it is either sped up or slowed down and didn't sound right
Found this off a whim and not typically my first go to as far as genres go, but I am genuinely enthralled by the classicality here and that is a rare occasion for me on the ujë.. this is sure worth a save
anybody else in concert band/wind ensemble thinks this song would be fun to perform? As a contrabass clarinet player, the low melody that happens from time to time makes me very happy
Hi I'm a year late but ua-cam.com/video/K0h2hKllDBY/v-deo.html Kansai stage competition version (and I agree, that makes the ending sound so much better)
why is this not a classic in concert band music? this shit is so much more enjoyable than the frank ticheli or robert w smith bs stuff we played in high school.

I used to play trumpet in high-school for 2 years. And as much as I like the trumpet and Reina and her solo. I've found myself longing for the eupho. I like that it's lower and not as high as the trumpet. Both are awesome instruments and this is an awesome anime and piece of music.
Hibike Euphonium is basically a high school wind band with lots of drama yet they play at a professional level. It’s terrifying how good they are at such a young age..
honestly, as much as this piece is legendary, im pretty sure the high notes in Reina's solo are a bit sharp. Especially the first A. The B after is a bit sketchy But the High C is absolutely nailed.
If I’m not mistaken, the band that recorded this for the anime/soundtrack was trying to sound like a typical Japanese high school band, so younger players are going to have a tougher time getting those notes slotted and will sometimes sound a bit pinched.
Can be those options but first, an observation before that, in the anime, we know Kitauji have only one oboe in the first year of Reina and Kumiko, so. 1. Can be a basson, and I pretty sure of that, 'cause that sound doesn't hear like a second oboe, and like I told, Is only one oboe, Mizore. But how we know they have bassons? Is simple, try to search the scene and look carefully, and search the basson. 2. In the CD soundtrack, U need to know they take sometimes a little change. 3. They dont have a english horn... Because any student learn and play that. So that sound is so singular and that's be a Basson :D I hope this be helpfully
@@saintorion3588 that doesnt sound like a bassoon, it sounds like an English horn which is why I said that, you could be right that it's a bassoon but as far as I know bassoons arent written that high.
