  • Our Epic Quest to Speedpaint all of Ragnarok begins here! The 1st Troop Unit of Einherjar is all painted in about 3 hours with my modified Slap Chop technique.
Also, my first test with The Army Painter Warpaints Fanatics Flexible Triad System is done on the tiny hands of these models - and it pays off!

Thanks! Getting better over time! I’m binging on painting classes next week, looking forward to sharing what I learned!

Mark, as a rule do you always thin down your speed paints to ensure the slap chop base coat underneath shows through to do its job or do you take it on a color by color basis? I know citadels contrast paints were notorious for being inconsistent with the viscosity between their colors. Great paint job as usual ! 👍

Thanks! Yes, we have to go color by color, as some are too weak, some are too strong, and some are just right, right out of the bottle.
Notice I use the really dark and heavy ones lower on the cloak, and underneath, as they are not catching any light anyway.
The colors that are too light and thin, I let dry and either reapply the same color or darker one, depending on where it is on the cloak.
Finish this project, in the interest of speed, I did not use any speedpaint medium. I probably could’ve used a little on the chest armor.

Could you please list the AP speed paint colour name (or show the paint bottle) used in future videos? Looking forward to the next model to be painted.

Thanks for watching! Yes normally I show the bottle but these guys can have wild color variations so I wanted to leave open to choices of wild imagination. The next units are on the way and are good for recipes with specific colors.
It’s a long journey we’re on, but we’re going to Speedpaint all of Ragnarok! On the way, we will grow and learn much 😎
