Off the top of my head I can think of three fairly good movies ( gallo162 took the best one, MISERY). 1. SHUTTER ISLAND 2.A PERFECT MURDER 3. An oldie from the 50s, DIAL M FOR MURDER.
The local cops looked at her like that for a couple of reasons. One is that local police generally don't like it so much when the federal types come in and take over one of their cases. Another is that they are a small town, and having the FBI show up would be kind of a big deal. Also, at this point in time, it was very unusual for women to be working in the field in most branches of law enforcement. Her character comes along just as women are starting to enter those fields.
@AirstripOne-nd4duthere is only one performance he was bad, playing Hitler :D ua-cam.com/video/ACHC-ARIpBo/v-deo.html but other than that he is brilliant actor and I like him very much too
I dont understand why people keep bringing that up as some remarkable thing. The movie is 118 minutes, so 15-20 minutes is still a significant portion of that, for a non-leading role. It is a supporting role after all, not a leading role. I mean Jodie Foster's screen time is "only" around 50 minutes, ie less than half of the movie, and she's the definitive main character. So why is it so bloody shocking to people that a supporting character is on the screen for half the time that the lead character has and still win an Oscar for best supporting role? There's nothing remarkable about that! This has to be the most annoying "omg did you know...??" fact that keeps popping up under every single fucking one of these reaction videos
Elena, Alfred Hitchcock's,1960 PSYCHO, is considered the first great slasher film. It stars Janet Leigh, the mother of Jamie Lee Curtis from the HOLLOWEEN horror films. Even though the film is black and white, British director Hitchcock was a genius at creating suspense. Hitchcock, a bald, pudgy little man always made a non-verbal cameo appearance in the beginning of his films. Look for him. Another fun fact.........Anthony Hopkins played him in 2012 HITCHCOCK, a film about the making of PSYCHO, with Helen Mirren as his wife. 🥰
Psychological profiles can be extremely accurate, and useful as a tool to get some indication about likely behavior. The downside is that misunderstanding key features of the psychology can lead to incorrect conclusions. Essentially to have the best profile, you have to really genuinely understand the individual. That's why some of Clarice's early predictions are incorrect, because Bill doesn't enjoy killing women. He does it as a means to an end.
this movie makes the FBi look so dumb, though! I knew all this stuff when I was a little kid & watched this! like when Hannibal says "Love your suit." it's a clue that Bill is making a suit from skin like Ed Gein, like, c'mon or the anagrams
@@Sarah_Gravydog316 But the FBI is pretty dumb. Perhaps a little more impressive than average cops, but that's not saying much. The smartest thing they do in the whole film is go to Lecter for help. They are limited by conventional thinking, and he is not.
You asked why Clarice didn't shoot Buffalo Bill right away: legally, she couldn't have shot him just because she saw a man with blonde hair and blue eyes, and who had a Death's Head Moth land on some thread. As an officer or a detective, you're only allowed to shoot someone if they are an IMMEDIATE danger to you, your partner(s), or a member of the public. For example, he would have to draw a weapon and make what's called a "furtive gesture" (a movement showing that the you are not surrendering, but instead about to attempt causing death or great bodily harm) toward the officer/detective or someone else. She wouldn't even be allowed to shoot him (if he was unarmed), after finding Catherine down that well in the basement. Again, that's not an immediate danger of life. He's not putting a gun to her head, he's not hitting her with an object, etc. Legally, Clarice would have to answer in court for shooting an unarmed man in the back and could end up in jail. It seems stupid when we look at a fictional story like this, but it works perfectly because if she was wrong and shot an innocent man just for having a moth in his house, that would be a serious danger to a person's civil rights. Bonus info: most smart detectives would have left the house and called for backup. But this smart detective had "screaming lambs" to silence in her nightmares. So, she had to save Catherine (the lamb). If she had left the house, more than likely he would have killed Catherine and then himself, to prevent Catherine from being able to speak about what he did to her in detail, and to prevent himself from facing any serious consequences. He's different from Hannibal: Buffalo Bill (that's the nickname of a real person in American history, by the way) is a coward. He would definitely have killed himself before backup officers arrived. Hannibal Lecter (not that I'm applauding him) is much more brave and willing to handle the consequences of his actions. Two serial killers, two completely different motives and personality types. Hannibal also didn't give Clarice the real name of Buffalo Bill because after their talks, he knew she was ready and able to find him and take him down. He was like a mentor to her. He knew she would save Catherine and if not kill, at least arrest Buffalo Bill. He wanted her to have that victory for herself. 😊❤
Hi Elena! This was a very good reaction. I actually didn't watch your "Ghost" video, yet. I watch alot of reaction channels & sometimes I just don't have the time for all the ones I want to watch. But another reason I didn't watch that one was because there were a couple other channels recently who did reactions of "Ghost", & I didn't feel like watching another one. It sometimes happens this way, all of a sudden, a few channels will release reactions of the same movie, as if the universe is telling everyone to watch that movie. Anyway, I will watch yours very soon. There are 2 movies I have in mind that, although they aren't thrillers, they ARE very psychological, & for some reason nobody does reactions to them. They are 'Magnolia' (1999), a drama, & 'Adaptation' (2002), a drama/comedy. I would love to see you experience these movies. They are 2 of my favorites. Take care & be well!🤗
In case you want to do sequels... This film is an adaptation of the second book in a series of novels. The first book was made into the film "Manhunter" in 1986, with someone else playing Lecter. Then, they made this. Then, book three was made into the film "Hannibal," with Hopkins as Lecter. Then, they filmed book one again, under the title "Red Dragon," with Hopkins de-aged and playing Lecter so there'd be a complete set with the same actor.
I'm a fairly new subscriber to your channel and just wanted to say thank you and I've really enjoyed the reactions that I've watched so far, especially The Fifth Element and the Terminator movies. Regarding Ghost, I only watch reactions to movies that I have watched myself and Ghost isn't really the type of movie I watch, i.e. movies where romance is the main genre. I'm a middle aged guy who is mostly into horror, thriller, scifi, fantasy, action. The Silence of the Lambs is an excellent movie and I've watched it several times over the past 30 years, and if you want something similar I would suggest the movie Seven.
Late to the party, but I can absolutely second what you said about Ghost. I'm pretty sure most people who watch reactions - no matter how much they like the reactors - only watch the ones with movies they a) have already seen (who would watch a 30 min. cut-down with commentary of a movie as the first touching point to that movie?) and probably b) also liked it. With some reactors I really like, if I haven't seen the movie yet and I think there is at least a chance I might like it, I go ahead, watch that movie first, and than the reaction afterwards. But Ghost was never my kind of movie. Saw it as a teen when it came out, but wasn't my kind of movie. Never watched it since and have no urge to do so. But tastes are different. I think it's good if reactors watch all kind of genres and a broad variety, even if some movies don't get that much views. There will still be some viewers who will be very happy to get a reaction to a movie they like.
Hope you realised what happened in the end? It was the creepy Dr Chilton who stepped out from the plane, and Dr Lecter was going to have him for dinner. (Doubt if he made a good roast, not so young and tender anymore, ha ha)
Some movies I just don’t care for, or just not interested in. I don’t hold it against anyone for watching what they want. I do enjoy watching your reactions to movies that I enjoy though. 😊😎also, I’ve been to several autopsies and no one puts anything under their nose in order to not smell the body. It doesn’t work. It gets into your clothes. Wash them immediately. Sniffing fresh Coffee grounds afterwards helps kill the smell out of your nose.
The tv series goes in a pretty different direction from the movies tbh and shows just how psychotic and insane hannibal really is. The movies really don't show how inclined he is to just mess with people for the sake of seeing what happens and because he can

Hi, happy belated birthday.🎉 You're awesome, fun, and charming and I enjoy watching your reactions but some movies I don't care too much about so those reactions fall low on my watch list. You can't please everyone all the time. 😊 Psychological Thrillers huh, good ones (I think) I haven't seen people react to are: Copycat (1995), Kiss the Girls (1997),The Bone Collector(1999) but this one is subjectively the best.
13:00 I know this is hard to watch. Consider this: The director is trying to set the mood, create a work of art, a masterpiece. He wants you to FEEL raw emotions. He wants you to hate and loathe Wild Bill. That way, later, when Agent Starling is in danger, you really, really feel the danger If you look away, you avoid that sense of horror, that dread, that mood, those raw emotions. You avoid looking at half of the art so your experience of the rest of it is reduced, lessened, diminished. Would you only look at the top half of the Mona Lisa, or the right side of The David? Deliberately avoiding the art that is being created here for you kind-of ruins it. I suggest learn to fight the urge to look away, experience the raw horror, the disgust, the way the director intended. Or, watch other movies. It's your channel. You do what you want. But we subscribers will respond to your real, true emotions so much better than we respond to seeing you avoid the movie.
It appears you didn't understand the ending. Lecter told Clarice "i'm having an old friend for dinner." Usually that means I'm inviting a friend to share my dinner. But when Lecter says it, it means he's eating an old friend. The double meaning was a joke. He said it as he watched Dr. Chilton walk past so now we know who Hannibal the Cannibal is going to eat for dinner. Which makes the ending both funny and karmic.
A psychologist said Hannibal is not a realistic representation of a psychopath serial killer. Mostly they look and act like normal people. Like Ten Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer. He said a realistic representation in film was the killer in Psycho.

21:00 "I can see the chemistry between Clarice and Dr. Lecter. It's so intriguing." Usually when people say that, they mean the two people are attracted to each other, often sexually or romantically, but at the very least, they really like each other. Lecter might like Clarice but I doubt he has any romantic inclinations toward her. Starling definitely doesn't even like lecter. She's repulsed by him. Disgusted. Frightened. She buries that to do her job, but she definitely does not like him. She clearly respects his intellect, but that doesn't count as attraction. This just isn't that kind of movie, and it would ruin it if it went that way.
So, only alcohol is consumed out of red Solo cups? That’s news to me. Look, I have problems with Fresh and Fit, but that’s a ridiculous thing to say. I also highly doubt they would give underage girls alcohol and risk their livelihoods and status. This is a dumb video. That guy thinks he’s funny and clever and he’s really not
Awesome Thriller/Suspense Movie..... Amazing Performance by Anthony Hopkins, On Screen approximately 16 minutes and won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar...... The Silence of the Lambs (1991) became the third film in Academy history to win the "Big Five" Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Actor (Anthony Hopkins), Best Actress (Jody Foster), Best Director, Best Writing/Screenplay. Was nominated but did not win: Best Sound, Best Editing.
1:22 I'm just giving my personal opinion, but science fiction movies seem more realistic to me than romantic movies, because in real life, events similar to science fiction movies can happen, but events like in romantic movies almost never happen.😝
@@tr3buh I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, I'm saying that I don't witness those events, that's why I'm not interested in those movies. Which was the question she asked at the beginning of the video.
The Bone Collector, Fallen, Copycat, Kiss the Girls, and Just Cause are some suggestions. BTW, winning an Oscar means absolutely nothing now because it's all rigged with politics.
As for Ghost, it's a bit boring so I didn't watch. To be clear, your reaction might be great but the movie itself is a bit boring. I think most reaction channels get huge hits for Action, Thriller, or Sci-Fi BLOCKBUSTERS or for horror movies. Do those, and you get 20k views like you did with Jurassic Park. Do Ghost, and you get 2k views instead. It's really about entertaining us, not you, which I'm sure you know, and if you pick OUR favorite movies, we will watch. Or if you scare yourself to tears we will watch. But just watching you go "Aww, he really loves her" to a fairly boring movie, we won't watch that as much. It's just science. :)
Elena. The majority of your fans are male. Males don’t want to watch love stories, they want to watch … Alien Aliens Alien 3 Terminator Terminator 2 Terminator Salvation Robocop Robocop 2 Predator Predator 2 TMNT The Movie 1990 LOTR The Hobbit Etc etc … You have to pander to your fan base.

what, events like in romantic movies happens all the time, people fell in love with each other quite often
never happen... to you...
@@FountainWeeper That's what I said
@@tr3buh I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, I'm saying that I don't witness those events, that's why I'm not interested in those movies. Which was the question she asked at the beginning of the video.
The Bone Collector, Fallen, Copycat, Kiss the Girls, and Just Cause are some suggestions. BTW, winning an Oscar means absolutely nothing now because it's all rigged with politics.
When I hit the like button on this video where will it tickle you?
By the way, love your sweatshirt
eww
Males don’t want to watch love stories, they want to watch …
Alien
Aliens
Alien 3
Terminator
Terminator 2
Terminator Salvation
Robocop
Robocop 2
Predator
Predator 2
TMNT The Movie 1990
LOTR
The Hobbit
Etc etc …
You have to pander to your fan base.
so you'd rather watch her be bored than see her light up and enjoy herself? Sounds entitled. Balance is key
so, you have Hannibal, who is supposed to be the worst person,
then you add Chilton, who is worse
its great
