I love the film of the water bird and its babies, but it is actually a coot. Similar bird to waterhen/moorhen and both members of the rail family. The coot is dark grey with a white beak and white shield on its head which is where 'As bald as a coot' comes from. Waterhen/moorhen are smaller with a dark brown back and blue grey chest and its beak is red with a yellow tip. Love the video.
I've got the mother of all for you Simon. I'm a roofer by trade. I shingle new homes but often reroofs older ones. So I bought a big magnet that kinda looks like a shop broom 2 1/2 ft wide to pick up any nails or sharp metal debris that may have fallen off the roof. The best part of it is it has little wheels to make it easy for pulling or pushing.👍😀
Three of the UA-cam channels I subscribe to in one show. Very cool. I wish I could've been there with you all! Nugget is such a nice and respectable young man! Thank you all for a great show!
Just missing Bill in the mix and 4 of my favorite people would have been all in 1 place, Great vid of the 3 of you. Better watch it Nicola, Magnet fishing is addictive and loads of fun. Good to see how much you all enjoyed your day.
Little Johan was adorable and a good thrower as well! You guys are good sports for letting him try magnet fishing! He is now “hooked” for life. Good Luck and Happy Hunting from Canada...👍🏼❤️🙏🏼🍀🇨🇦
Brilliant and that little lad did so well! Now I need to add a big magnet to my list along with metal detector, trowel and PLA permit!!! We have loads of rivers here in Northampton and that might keep me going until I book my London Mudlover holiday!!! X
Delightful! I have subbed. I love that Nugget Noggin ALWAYS has a grin -- he is just so enjoying EVERYTHING, Always! I am surprised how many coins y'all pulled. Everything here, stateside, is cupro-nickel, non-ferrous, not a candidate for magnet fishing. Very much enjoyed the video! Inspiring.
Hi Simon. Just watching this video and spied a camouflage bag with a name on the top by the bridge.I’m a descendant of the Fordyce family. My ancestor Andrew Bruce Fordyce was assistant Dock and Harbour master in Leigh. With his wife they sailed to New Zealand in 1885. Maybe whoever owns that bag is a distant relative. Love watching your adventures. Thanks 😊👍🏻
What a fine magnetic video Si Finds! Lots of fun to watch. One day I'll get over there, where over half of my heritage is from and play in the mud. Thanks Kindly Mudrats! Love, Light, Peace and Prizes in the Mud! DaveyJO in Pa.
Great fun! How gracious you both were to that young man, truly shows what wonderful character you possess. Had a wonderful time hanging with you all, too bad Nic had to leave early. Take care, til next time... xx ~Jen
What would be an asset is an extendable pole like a pool net and adapt a hook as well as the net and have it interchangeable. I have a surveyors measurement staff it’s aluminium and 1 meter long and extends to 6 meters. I also have made an adaption out of coat hanger wire for getting fruit out of my tall trees cheers keep up the good work 👍🇦🇺
That’s the ornamental canal, used to be part of a load of linked up docks which are all but gone, there’s still loads relics from the docks around to see if you have a keen eye though 👍🏼
I kept getting thrown off by Nugget Noggin's accent (which I'm very familiar with because I live in the southern US) and kept thinking "Look out for gators! Oh wait, they're in London, nevermind."
That was fun to watch.. Makes me laugh though.. I have been watching Nugget Noggin for many years and now there seems to be a small group of You Tubers that get together and do videos together.. You meet up with Nugget and Chill Bill in London for the garnet special along the Thames. .. That was bloody interesting.. Its really weird to be watching people I've watched in the States for a long time now teaming up with people I watch in the UK because you have the same interests .. Love it.. 👍😎👍..
Nice to see how this sport has been taking over from our country, I have a good tip for you magnet-fishers ; with dragging by a line you catch mostly todays stuff . If some water/ canal had never been dredged out many years ago, the old stuff lies beneath in the old sludge. That why we stepped over to magnet- poking. we attache the magnet on to a telescopic (Gardena) stick , and than we poke into the sludge on the bottom!
As always great video! Magnet fishing looks quite fun. :) BTW just put in an order for a Mudlovers hoodie. Really looking forward to wearing it. May not be able to mudlark on the Thames but am still a Mudlover in spirit. :)
@@Sifinds he looked a natural. He threw it so well n 2 think on his feet n use the chain was pretty clever. Im ashamed 2 say he has a much better throw technique than myself.
I remember the silver coins going to nickel in the 70's, could have cleaned up at the wishing well with a bicycle dynamo magnet before people realised, but Dad stopped me. He was right of course but I thought different then. Lost my magnet too, he handed it to the wishing well owner with the proof of my concept out of the well attached.
A good mornings entertainment watching 3 of my shortlist favorite mudlarker/treasure hunters! The small interlude with the swan reminded me of something. Si-have you shown Nicola the swan diving clay pipe you made? I thought you did a very nice job making it.
Great to see you finding those coins -- and great to see Nic there too. Do people throw the coins in like throwing coins into a fountain for good luck? Of course most people aren't going to throw their iPhone into the canal for good luck! What is the origin of these canals -- some of the stonework looks very old (Victorian, I'd say) but the area around the canals looks rather recently built up. Thanks you all!
Really kind of you to let that young boy try magnet fishing. :-) Love the short clip of the coots. Those are some scary-cute-ugly chicks... kinda remind me of Skeksis from The Dark Crystal. (O.O)
Question: Do the magnets erase the contents of the phone and Sim card? No way to ID the owner if that is the case. BIG magnets or electro magnets can be used to wipe hard drives.
Greetings from Clay Co. Missouri, USA! Thanks for taking me along! And, GOOD ON YOU for taking the time to teach one of the next generation of mudlovers!! Always good to see Nic, even for only 10 mins. Nugget's grin was infectious as ever. My face is hurting from using muscles I hadn't in a while. See ya next week, Si! 2 thumbs up,! as always I'm off to see what I can find BofL & HH !!!
none of those magnets ship to USA :( I bought a magnet for my mom to fish with, and it will stick to beams and cars like crazy, but it doesn't pick up coins at all. Was hoping to find something better.
*my favorite Sunday viewing* ... speaking of eeeasy money, did you know there's a new Terminator movie being released in November? James Cameron, Linda Hamilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger all in, should be good
Hiya..... Are you allowed to magnet fish the Thames or do you need some sort of licence? I'm asking as I've just bought a double sided magnet, and I have a pal who lives two minutes from the millennium bridge and I'm desperate to get started! Many thanks 👍🏻🤣
That water looks a little "iffy" in the video..... What were those canals used for in the past?transport? Or are they new, added for "aesthetic" value?
I don't know if you know this or not but Sterling silver doesn't stick to magnets, so tell your friend to dive into that water and get that coin !! It's most likely silver, so tell him to go back and go for it !!!
Inflation currency! After the coming Nuclear WW3 Apocalypse we will have to go back to silver and gold! 😁 Just kidding! I lost my magnet on the second cast! Great video.
Love from the old lady in Texas USA may God bless you always

Great video. So very nice of you two encouraging that young boy. He was having so much fun.
Thanks Syd!
I did a rescue 😂👍.. well done young man.
Johan's parents: "Great, now we have to buy him a huge magnet."
Yes they are!

Gabriel Boudreau blimey! Don’t wield it over any drain covers - you’ll never unstick it! Lol

OP 1000 Haha, yeah they were good phones back in day! Lol
Cut coins were a early way of making change, usually silver, might have great age to it, great video

@@Sifinds Absolutely will! :)
"easy money" is what John Connor says when using the stolen card in the ATM in Terminator 2; Judgement Day.
James Tite spot on!
Si-finds, Or....Easy Money (1983 or 84??)starring Rodney Dangerfield and title song by Billy Joel. Funny movie😂
I liked good luck brothers. Amazing,,, 😎
well.done chaps
GET AWAY FROM MY BABIES!! 🤣
Si has a cute giggle.
This was fun. Think I may try this in the Birmingham canals...should be lots of bike bits and dumped bank safes. 😀
Hope you get some 'Luck in the Muck'!
Very fun to watch!
Thanks Donna!
Great vid. Interesting as ever. The little chap will make a great future magnet fisher.

@@Sifinds he looked a natural. He threw it so well n 2 think on his feet n use the chain was pretty clever. Im ashamed 2 say he has a much better throw technique than myself.

Another great video. Lots of coins, laughs and a new recruit to magnet fishing. Did he get to take the shovel? As a souvenir?
Thanks!, no no, that was nuggets shovel, he hooked up on 😀
You a nice laugh
Love the coots
Not CO2 canisters, Nitrous Oxide, the new hipster high.
Not new very old...whippits
Hippie crack has been around for ages. He didn't say they were co2, he even mentions that people like to inhale them.
@12:19 Easy money, faithless women, redeye whiskey for the pain!!! Couldn't 'member the movie, but the Eagles ALWAYS jump to the front!! ;-D
Dueling Dalton
haha, loving the iphone, you either love it or you think its madness
Nugget noggin lovely to see you again always watch you
That little fisherman will have his own UA-cam channel by the end of the year 🤣🤣🤣
Hopefully! 😉
There’s a bit of gold in those old Nokia’s. They are worth scrapping.
Great video Si Fore Shore 😉
🙂🍻👍
Foreshore 😉
Nugget Noggin, can you catch any steelhead trout magnet fishing ? Just wondering, you'd have to trow them right back 😜
The small fisher was a sweet one! BarbroSweden

It originally went into the Thames, and would have linked the docks (basins) for smaller boats to travel between.
Really kind of you to let that young boy try magnet fishing. :-) Love the short clip of the coots. Those are some scary-cute-ugly chicks... kinda remind me of Skeksis from The Dark Crystal. (O.O)
Haha, I love their little wings!
Olá Nicole White ! Adoro ver os seus vídeos..linda família você tem.. beijinhos 💝🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
the water changed color. also those co2 cartridges were probably from paintball of bb guns
I might try this sometime. Im Glad you had a chance to do something different. 😊
Thanks Nora, always like to try new things to share with you guys!
Hilarious !!!!

Ron Smith they’ll find the collections literally everyone hoards in their garages though 🤷♀️
Good fishing! Simon may have the biggest catch in Ronette?
Chuck Carpenter haha 🥰

Marcel Audubon Yes, that rings a bell now you say it, gotta be better than the other sequels
Magnet fishing looks fun ,something different, nicola you gave up to soon,
You might want to invest in a 300Kg double sided magnet , Will be far better than the singles!
The aquachigger would have been in

Luke Mustafa No, not from bridges. If you plan to search you’ll need a permit from the PLA. Check my top ten tips for advice

Totally! Imagine looking back on this video when he's 18+ haha

Panasonic Camcorder, but now I use a Cannon camcorder
