WoW, what are the chances of finding those two coins ending up together like that! The Thames(and your eyes) never cease to amaze me!! Another great piece of entertainment...and history. You lucky devil you! 🐞🙌🏼Cheers from Canada.....🙏🏼🍀❤️👍🏼🍻
I'm always amazed at the history that lies in the mud of the Thames. Such an abundance. I've walked the beach on the East Coast of the US for many years and I know the ocean sorts things. Where you find one of something, you are much more likely to find similar. I love that the Thames leaves all the copper nails in that one spot!
Sure enjoy your videos. I'm in California but you and Nicola and others transport me to the Thames and elsewhere to have great adventures without ever getting my feet wet. I, too, appreciate that you research and share the history of your finds when you can. Thank you.
A fantastic day for a lark! Love the history. The Farthing, ball button and the amazing fastener are my favorites of this muckery. The dress fastener is like a hook and eye . It would have been sewn on. The opposite side would have had a round or D shaped bit to hook into.
Hello Simon, i am Tammy from Malaysia. I have been watch your videos for quite a while now and enjoyed everyone of them. Keep them coming. God bless, Tammy🌻
What a thrilling set of finds! I got Uber excited when I found two Indian head pennies in the dog yard of the kennel I worked for, and those were only a bit over 100 years old. Turns out it was built on the site of a very old (for the US) chicken farm, and the dog yard was over their dump. Well before organized garbage pickup...everyone just pitched their detritus onto a heap somewhere on their property. I also found a silver dime, but lost it when a overly playful Newfie knocked me flying. I would be over the moon to find anything as old as the coins you find regularly. Your channel is so much fun!
Catherine Moore Thanks Catherine! Glad u enjoy it. Your treasure hunting sounds fun too. It’s not the find that counts it’s the hunt! (The Find is the cherry on top)!
I love how you get so excited over some of your finds. You make me sit up at the edge of my seat. Today was no exception, wonderful. Could your clothes hook be for a cloak as it is too large for a dressI believe
Wow super finds thank you for sharing the history and the finds. I live in Oregon USA and have never heard about the plantation coins until watching your channel. Again thank you for all the work you do to bring this to us!!
Great finds on the foreshore this video.. I love the coins, so much history. The fastener is lovely, but looks like it would hurt if caught wrong. Great history lesson as well.
Thank you, Si, for sharing. Stunning button and fascinating token (coin). I just love the finds on the Thames. So full of character and history. Your work is much appreciated....even in America!
Hi Si, great finds once again. The coins are very interesting historically for sure. When you showed the clothes fastener I immediately thought that it was large enough to hook a cloak closed :) love it! guess we will never know. Looking forward to the next one!
Hi Si, how wonderful is that?! I just took a guess as to what I thought it may be and so pleased that I was right in the ball park :) thank you for letting me know. I am looking forward to this weeks video too!@@Sifinds
Made my day seeing this video. Fab finds Si. Especially love the button and clothes fastener. Just watched Nicola's vid. You both had a good week!! Glad you got to have a cuppa together from the ABC teapot. Great stuff!! X
Thanks for the share Si. Just love these uploads from yourself and Nicola. I need to get myself to the Thames and of course get myself a permit. Keep the finds coming
Cool finds. When you found the bottle it reminded me about some jars i had found in a friends garden. A few years ago he told me he was tilling his garden and found 2 jars with letters from the 1960s. I went over with my detector and found 15 or 16 more jars all with letters from a veteran. Sadly he had written all the letters but didn't send any of them. The house was located aross the railroad tracks from a veterans hospital. I never understood why they would be buried.
Great Finds Si Finds! What a great video! I'll have to email you some pics of the half pennies I found here in Pennsylvania metal detecting sometime from your neck of the woods. Thanks Kindly! Love, Light, Peace and Luck Inna Mud! DaveyJO in Pa.
Such a lovely lark with you today. Great finds! I see your Etsy shop is empty again! I can't catch a break...but I will, that I promise you! I love the bottles and jars too much to give up!!! Take care, til next time! xx ~Jen
Okay, Simon, this one has your best intro yet! triple exposure, if my eyes don't deceive me, color washes, too (we're not worthy haha)... Very creative and energetic start to the video. *And what a day you had* !! You must've had a premonition the way you charged down the steps rubbing your hands together like Ebenezer Scrooge; that did make me laugh! Great research and your always interesting running commentary make these videos a treasure.
haha! I see you're wearing a different hat on the steps ... I've been duped by stock footage! ... even so, doesn't change my opinion one bit :) great stuff ... I wish I worked for the BBC, I'd order up a season of these at an exorbitant price
Stunning finds. I will send you my address so as to facilitate the intended American journey of the plantation token. You know, for good karma and all. Glad to help out. Really, not a problem.
awrite si m8,how you doin,,,well you never fail to amaze si,cracking good finds as usual and loving the plantation coin man, great channel si and very informative too, cheers m8,keep them coming si,,we love em,cheers,kc,keith,uk,be safe bud,👍 ; )
Love your videos just found your sight, here in New Zealand, we don’t have the history that England has of course being such a young country, but you find the most crazy wonderful things love it
I enjoy watching your Si-finds Thames Mudlark videos. Do you ever phone the London Museum when you have found something so heavy or big you cannot take it to them? I know you have found skeletons of boats and a very big wooden wheel. Or do you ever report where the finds are to the museum?
1. Great video production 2. So sad that the moment I went looking for your bottle candle holders they were all gone! 3. Like so many others, can you show the garnet finds? 4. You and your channel are AMAZING!!!!
the small metal bulbous button is probably from a shoe, circa the early 20th C. , 1920s? A shoe hook would be used to fasten it...about 3 inches long, also of metal.
Awesome finding that bottle there with a note in it that's pretty cool sorry I'm a little late watching your video I've been busy my brother passed away Sunday I've been taking care of that are you stay blessed and I'll see you on the next one
Some more great finds Simon, enjoyed sharing your adventure. That ABC teapot you gave Nicola really cleaned up like new. Tell the truth how did the tea taste? Stay well mate and keep up your great videos. Al, USA.
Good video si I liked it because we could look forward to the reveal instead of washing it and telling us about it each find really enjoyed x
As a historian I am completely amazed at the finds. I just want to dig and look too. These little treasures make my heart so happy.

LuvBugCrafts Hi, it’s been recorded by academics as a clothes fastener, and used for cloaks etc (that’s where the diagram came from) 😉👍🏻❤️😊

Ah thanks for that - more lovely bottle candle holders on Etsy soon!
the small metal bulbous button is probably from a shoe, circa the early 20th C. , 1920s? A shoe hook would be used to fasten it...about 3 inches long, also of metal.
You need a soft toothbrush for the coins.
Simon -- tell me more about the garnets -- why so many in the Thames? Natural? Garnet farming upriver? :-) Thanks for taking us along!
Aengus MacNaughton I plan to do an episode on it soon
Awesome finding that bottle there with a note in it that's pretty cool sorry I'm a little late watching your video I've been busy my brother passed away Sunday I've been taking care of that are you stay blessed and I'll see you on the next one

@@Sifinds thank you so much appreciate that stay blessed and keep those videos coming out enjoy them a lot
Thanks lived that round button.
Excelente video, interesantes piezas encontraste !
Can scrap metal be sold in the UK? The Thames foreshore would be picked clean of all the copper nails if it was in the US.
Some more great finds Simon, enjoyed sharing your adventure. That ABC teapot you gave Nicola really cleaned up like new. Tell the truth how did the tea taste? Stay well mate and keep up your great videos. Al, USA.
I also want your viewers to check out your Etsy shop at SifindsMudlarkshop, to check out your upcycled bottles! Lovely!
Linda Odell Thanks for your support!
