I'm a 48 year old bass player in a hard rock cover band. Yet, I cry every time I hear you perform. I don't get it. It's an indescribable emotion, like angry and powerful, but still remains subtle and innocent. Your originals are so well written and relatable. I love your songs so keep doing your thing! It's working well.
This song sings to my heart in all the layered ways of music and spiritualism in a way that makes me want to defend it and praise it in such a holistic rarity of worship
One more time : thank you. Thank you again, for each song, for each of your words. Please keep on being on your own way of awesomeness. There's really so many people out there who truly love the freedom in your art, please keep on feeling free to do what you want. Thank you.
I play on the streets and subway of NYC a lot and often play your songs. Today, for the first time, a woman recognized "Berlin Blues" and sang along and danced! It was so much fun :D It is so amazing to watch you grow and your music spread throughout the world. I looove everything you do, and this video is no exception! Keep it up! Sending you lots and lots of love from NY
varyasmusic so proud of you for playing your music to the world!!that is such a beautiful thing to play in the streets and subways I love seeing people like you in the world ☮️
Epic. This song stops me, every time, whatever I may be doing and politely demands my attention. First her voice, then the guitar until you’re engulfed in this melodic struggle. To all the “She and He” in the world; EVERYONE DESERVES TO SEE THE STARS…. P.L.U.R.❤
Alice Phoebe Lou, I discovered you only a couple of months ago, and you have become a joyful obsession. Your talent is as mesmerizing whether you're busking on a street corner, or putting out a studio piece with one of your ethereal videos. Surely you sing with the voice of the ancient Sirens, and one would have to be chained to the ground to not be drawn in. Though, if your cunning were not pure and benevolent, as it surely is, what a beautiful demise it would be, anyway. Why the seemingly inverse relationship these days between breathtaking talent and popularity? Someone commented that were this the 70's, you would be "iconic". And though you are, of course, an icon to everyone you've touched, brilliance doesn't top the charts as it did a generation ago. The Beatles, Hendrix, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Pink Floyd, Marvin Gaye, the list is too long. Brilliance was the norm. No more. The democratization of music has been a great thing. You and others are stellar examples. But corporate monopolies now peddle the lowest common denominator "product" , with exceptions, sure, but "scalability" and commercial "brand" seem to trump all else. I sense, though, those illusory heights are not part of your plan. And I know your authenticity is not corruptible; and your soul not for sale. So glad you're soaring. And so glad you're taking your beautiful "fiery heart" , and your bewildering "fiery mind" along for the ride. Keep on being the icon that you are to those who love you, and those who have yet to discover you. You make the world such a better place.
The video is awesome but the raw energy of your performance is unique and you are one of the few artists that sound even better in live than in the studio version, "She (Live) FOR EVER"!
Alice I know you wrote the song from your own personal experience and it's great. Don't let nobody hold you down and always stay strong and in control of your life. Thank you for sharing your songs with us
"Gänsehaut!" (goose bumps!) ... every time I hear it, again, and again! ... So powerful ... and I could cry and dance and fly away ... all at the same time!
a soundtrack for depression. drowning in past indecision and present winces, sharp slivers of words that cut deep versus the words that were ignored, that were clues to eden.... the soundtrack keeps me afloat, soft tunes with jagged comforts to remind me, my soul is eternal and my mind is not unique and thus, I am not alone.
I remember seeing her at mauerpark busking, so much respect for that, this song is an amazing accomplishment. it's inclusion in the movie kakon added layers of emotion to the those scenes.
She, she She, she She caught a hole in the fence and she ran She left her troublesome prison behind She didn't wanna fuel the fire She didn't wanna lose her desire She, she She, she She looked out out to the horizon She didn't have much left to see Greed had taken the trees away She had taken the bees away She, she She, she She don't know where she gonna go now She looked up to and it should've been stars She said I wanna go to Mars This this planet, it ain't ours She said I wanna go to Mars And this this planet ain't ours
Alice's vocals on this are to me as near to perfect as it can get. Not 99.9 percent but 100.1 percent. Just bloody awesome. I do not have any other words how to describe the beauty of the performance or her.
This is stunning in every possible way! The song was given a videoclip it deserved, just as amazing as the song itself. Alice, you never cease to amaze me! What an unique artist ❤️
Honestly i prefer the live record (still this one is quite cool too), but you did a greeeaat job with the video. Continue like that Alice Phoebe Lou, you are an amazing artist !
I'm arrogant as hell but... this song somehow makes me feel we are connected in away that goes beyond anything I have ever believed throughout my life. This sing, makes me reflect upon myself and helpe to see that gender, sexual orientation, etc.. none of those labels are important to me. Only that we are somehow connected at the soul level.
Omg i've been waiting so long, finally , a music video for the best song I've ever heard 💖 your work is amazing, absolutely stunning This music video is an art work

True!
She IS an iconic figure for some ppl ;) :)
Cintia Rózsavölgyi okay, you're right :D
She had lots of Icons from the past to influence her.
Couldn't have said it better! Isn't she AMAZING!!!
This song sings to my heart in all the layered ways of music and spiritualism in a way that makes me want to defend it and praise it in such a holistic rarity of worship
I think this song and film are an understated masterpiece! Haunting and beautiful. Her live performance of this song is amazing.
x100 on all accounts.
Das Lied lief als Abspann zur Dokumentation "Geniale Göttin " über Hedy Lamarr. Das jagte mir einen wohligen Schauer über den Rücken.
Mir ging es genau so.

Might seem strange but if you ever have plans for a specific subway station or area, let me know! I'd love to hear you!
Charlotte oh you are sweet!
I usually play late nights (9pm+) on Union Square on the main platform up top! If you ever see me come say hi;)
maravillosa alice....gracias x tu talento tu belleza tu fuerza !
varyasmusic so proud of you for playing your music to the world!!that is such a beautiful thing to play in the streets and subways I love seeing people like you in the world ☮️
What a cool connection! That would be so fun to hear a different street musician playing Alice's songs. I hope you're still playing music!
I can't explain the feeling this song has in me, it's like a breath at the end of life, at the beginning of the dream.....
This woman's vocal range is spine tingling amazing....
That is breath-taking. I heard it this afternoon when I was driving to the monastery to have a quiet and lonely New Year's Eve. It was magical.
I caught only last 5 minutes of a documentary about Hedy Lamarr's life and this song was used during the credits. So fitting. So grateful ❤️
Same!!!!
She is absolutely wonderful - it gives me chills every time I listen to the lyrics
Ooo, Freakery! :P Dzięki za podlinkowanie tej artystki w najnowszym filmie : ) Jest naprawdę świetna

Yup.like how ya said that.

These are the people that should be winning VMA's.

"She (Live) FOR EVER"!

Yes, these recent APL love songs are pretty, but I miss her old warrior self.

tragic catharsis
Can’t even explain the feelings this song generates in me. Calmness, maybe? Something.
I remember seeing her at mauerpark busking, so much respect for that, this song is an amazing accomplishment. it's inclusion in the movie kakon added layers of emotion to the those scenes.
Perfect perfect perfect... such a “SHE” you are Phoebe!
Very special... Both strange and true... But really good... From France.
Heard this on Good Girls. The moment she sang “SHE...” I got goosebumps. Beautiful song
What Episode?
Me too! I was beyond eager to find this song when I heard it on Good Girls. It’s beautiful, chilling, haunting & everything in between.
Yess
She, she
She, she
She caught a hole in the fence and she ran
She left her troublesome prison behind
She didn't wanna fuel the fire
She didn't wanna lose her desire
She, she
She, she
She looked out out to the horizon
She didn't have much left to see

She looked up to and it should've been stars
She said I wanna go to Mars
This this planet, it ain't ours
She said I wanna go to Mars
And this this planet ain't ours
Gracias!
Is the lyric "she *caught* a hole in the fence..."or "... *cut* a hole...?"
@@matthewhoffman8575 I believe it's cut
check the lyrics as posted by Alice Phoebe Lou on her live video ua-cam.com/video/NPH9j0qVM3A/v-deo.html
Mel .W it’s cut. Edit your mistake. Posting inaccurate lyrics makes you sound pious and ignorant.
This song is a master piece
Drowning happily in this music. Irresistible.
Seeing this performed live at the Scala, London was enthralling and visceral at the same time... will live with me forever ❤️
Alice's vocals on this are to me as near to perfect as it can get. Not 99.9 percent but 100.1 percent. Just bloody awesome. I do not have any other words how to describe the beauty of the performance or her.
Can't stop listening to this rallying cry. APL - SHE - Garden of delights.
EXCELLENT SONG! GREAT PERFORMANCE!
Mágical, exceptional, fantastic

She is Everything!😘❤️✨🌎
This is stunning in every possible way! The song was given a videoclip it deserved, just as amazing as the song itself. Alice, you never cease to amaze me! What an unique artist ❤️

Beautiful song, graceful and cutting edge at the same time!
