Great to hear from Karl. I’m looking at buying an Escape in a year or two so it’s great to know there will be nothing but upgrades. I’m hoping they keep the prices reasonable.
Thanks for watching Brian! I think Escape will remain a super customer focused business.
Finally had a chance to watch your video. Very well done and informative. Thanks!
Thanks Sandy!
Great interview!! We live full time in our 5.0 TA 5th wheel , picked it up this year in April , we love it , never had any problems. Great to hear that they will build a service center in Texas .
Hi Wolfgang, that's awesome you live full time in your 5.0!! It's really cool to connect with other full timers!! I think having a US presence will help their customers exponentially!
Great interview. Looking forward to learn more on the 5TA. Thanks for hosting this. I learned a lot.
Thanks again for watching. Karl was both easy and fun to talk with!!
Good Interview, thanks, you ladies are awesome and fun
+Great Escape Thanks! Karl really was great to meet and talk with.
Awesome interview and Karl seems like a really nice and approachable person. Looking forward to the very exciting times ahead! 😊👍🏼
Very nice guy!
Thank you much appreciated!!
Thanks for watching August! Karl is a really nice guy and super fun to talk to!
Angie and Rhonda - It was great to meet you when you were filming at Escape! Great video and we are closer to getting our order put in.
Hi Lynn, it was really great meeting both of you!! I’m excited for you when you order your 5.0!
Sounds exciting!
Thanks for watching! Yes, very exciting stuff coming out!
Great interview with Karl. Thanks angie & Rhonda. Hope to catch up w you at dome rock.
We'll be there! See you then!
Add the new Greystokes cabinets and leather seats from the Northern Light LE truck campers!!! Also, add features that will make the trailers more useful for full-time living: 4 season, big solar and lithium battery banks, built-in and/or portable generator bays, internet/cell/Wi-Fi equipment, and off road packages for BLM and National Forest Land boondocking!
Ya know what would also be cool, build a shorter 5th wheel trailer model based off of your Northern Light truck campers. Why? This would address several problems with both trailers and truck campers. A 5th wheel trailer truck camper hybrid would reduce both length and height, making it more accessible in parks with length restrictions and on roads with height restrictions. Hooking up a 5th wheel would also be a lot easier and less dangerous than loading/unloading a truck camper. Just a thought. :)
I LOVE all your ideas and improvements for full time living and boondocking! We'll be adding Lithium ourselves at some point but having these things as options during the build process would be amazing!
We have the Escape 5th wheel, bought it 2nd hand but it had hardly been used. Its a 2008 version and we love it. We live on Vancouver Island and visited the shop in Chilliwack several times for repairs and updates. Will the location in Chilliwack be gone? As a Canadian we have been very proud of this company and hoping this doesn't completely change to the U.S. Thanks for this video.
+Trish Fougner Thanks for watching. No worries, the primary business location will still be Chilliwack.
I just brought my new Escape 19 home after picking it up in Chilliwack. Love my new vehicle, have issues to deal with because of minor damage that occurred during the drive home. GREAT PEOPLE TO WORK WITH, AND AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO, I FEEL ASSURED THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO GIVE ME THE AFTER-MARKET SUPPORT THAT I NOW NEED.
Hey Steve, sorry about the damage you received during your drive home. What a bummer!! Hope it gets fixed fast so you can enjoy your new trailer!!
What sort of damage? How did things work out for you?
@@shouldibehere Rock guard at front window damaged. They put me in touch with the aftermarket vendor to replace it. They want $160. + for the part. I'll fix it here locally if I can find the right plastics vendor...160 bucks too much for a piece of plastic with Escape 19 emblazoned on it...
@@stevemanelski1970 That's up pretty high. Good thing you have the guard or your window would be broken. The rock guard should be an easy fix. Any idea how it got damaged?
@@shouldibehere Soft tonneau I never liked because it did not fit right, blew off in a gust of wind after a dual semi passed me on the left side. Metal spine of that tonneau blew off, hit the rock guard. winched strap I had added to hold it in place kept it from coming off my truck completely, and saved it from creating more damage.End of story.
I want to know more I like seeing while hearing about it. I really like the floor plan you Angie and Rhona have.
Karl is a really nice guy and it was fun talking with him! They have such a great product and their sales are going through the roof! Thanks, we really love our floor plan too!!
Great interview! I agree 100% that Karl is genuinely a nice guy. He is respected and well liked by his team. I had a great experience with Melisa and Karl throughout the entire purchasing process. It was very nice to have interacted with Karl's lovely wife, Sharon, who also is part of the Escape team. Eventhough the company went through recent ownership transition, however, Escape retained that personal, family business feel that I really appreciates.
They are all a wonderful team up there!! Your name came up by the way when we were chatting with Karl. He asked if I had seen your mods and interacted with you. Karl thought you were super nice and we agreed!!
@@AdventuresInNoMadness Awwh, thanks for that.😊 So wonderful to know we have community of people like you and Rhonda sharing the same passion. The Escape team is the enabler of all this.
There goes the quality!
What do you mean? I think the quality at Escape will be better than ever with Karl at the helm!! He'a a great guy and it's an amazing company!
How does the Escape perform cold weather? Will the extra insulation options keep the tanks and water lines from freezing up? Is the Escape comfortable when it is cold outside without using large amounts of propane? How do you keep it warm?
Hi MIchael, thanks for asking! We are currently in Washington State and had some pretty cold temps the last few nights. It got down to 18F. The extra insulation and spray foam insulation under the belly have kept us warm. We filled up the fresh tank and disconnected the water hose from the outside spigot. and then turned on the fresh and gray tank heaters. No issues at all with anything freezing. We have been using some propane but have also used an electric space heater since we're hooked up to power right now. I'm not sure how much propane we would be going through if we were just using that for heat. We have an extra propane tank in case we run out but haven't needed it yet.
@@AdventuresInNoMadness Do the heated hoses with the electrical coils work?
The heated hose would totally work! We just don’t have one right now. They’re kind of expensive, take up space we don’t have a lot of, and we don’t intend on doing a lot of cold weather camping.
Please come to Texas soon!
Hopefully it will be soon!
Or Oklahoma. Tesla considered Tulsa. But it went to Austin.
Tulsa would be perfect in so many ways. We are more centrally located in the US on Route 66. We have trucking companies, bus manufacturing that might prove important to ETI.
It will be interesting to see how Casita responds to the increased competition
I agree it will be interesting. Casita has a definite niche in the smaller fiberglass market.
Would be great to have a dealership in southern Ontario. Huge potential here, including me in a couple years ;)
You never know where they'll go next
What are you having done? Curious minds want to know...
LOL, nothing major. We couldn't close the door with the new RV Lock we installed. Basically had to slam it. We had them adjust the door and now it closes perfectly!! They kind of bent the top and bottom of the door. We also had a 2nd PVC sewer hose container installed next to the first one. Had them double check the water pump since we've had to adjust it 4 times to keep it from running continuously. 5th time seems to be the charm.
This just showed up in my feed. What a difference a pandemic makes. The wait time when you made this video was probably 6-8 weeks or something like that and everyone one is still waiting for that 23. And how about those boats...
Hi Jeff! So true, the pandemic has made a HUGE difference. The wait time when we ordered our 21 was about 4 months, now it's almost 2 years!
What's the wait time for a 17a
You’ll have to call or email Escape to get their current production schedule
Yes! Yes! Yes? Texas much closer to me. Thank you Lord!!😀
I think it's super smart to put a facility in TX!! So much easier for so many people!
Only thing giving me pause is the bed. I’m 6’04” tall and really prefer a king bed. I’ve been swapping emails with Melisa about getting to see a 5.0. Waiting for a call back from the owner in an adjacent county to arrange a showing.
Come on Karl, cut a wide window up front to slide in a king mattress.
Melissa is awesome to work with!! I can say I feel lucky to be a short 5’2” ha ha. It’s tough to be tall in an rv. I love the 5.0 and it certainly gives you better headroom. I think you’ll like it despite not having the king bed.
Really want one will they stay as well made.
Very well made!!
15 ft. Would be great plus 1/2 - 1ft wider escape liveable for me, thank you. Newbie😃
Thanks for watching! Yes, the new models they will be out with sound really awesome! We love living in our 21'!
No questions about potential price changes.
Hi yafolla, at this moment they don't plan on changing prices. That could always change though
Dry baths.....YES.
The dry bath will definitely be a big hit with LOTS of people!
Angie I watched a video you did hooking up your trailer you had some bars that were different a easier way to hook the trailer up what are they called do you like her trim the top instead of the bottom with your sway bar is there a way I can talk to you personally on cell maybe you could give me your email so I could email you my phone number and you could get a hold of me I have a terrible time hooking my trailer many people have helped me and I was still having troubleI’d love to speak to you thank you Lisa
O did not write that well hope you can get with me some how I will look for message from you would not mind giving you my number
Would love to see a storage space all the way across underside
An a lift nice to Boondock
Hi Lisa, thanks so much for watching! Yes, the E2 by Fastway is much easier to use than the other chain type of sway bars. We love them! Our email is adventuresinnomadness@gmail.com
