As a saudi woman I respect your attuide and the time you took to research. I respect foreigners who respect us and respect our culture. Thank you 🎉that's shows your a honest caring person. May Allah bless your life.
Often we snuff a a lot of these etiquettes in the uk but upon reflection, respect is a big deal, and helps society to function in an orderly and peaceful way. This has diminished a lot in uk behaviour - respect for elders, doctors, dentists etc - and see where it has got us!!
I still think apart from eastern asia, uk is very modest compared to other countries without naming… I think this is because uk was the hub and the birthplace of many human advancements and prominent history which is something worthy of respect. I mean we are both kingdoms so we get along well 😁.
Thank you for sharing this. Saudis are genuine and they respect other people. Generally, they are understanding when it comes to these cultural traditions. I am fascinated that you spotted these small acts of respect. Keep up the good vidoes rolling! P.S. You should do a video on the best invention ever (Shattaf - the water pump) so much better and cleaner than toilet paper 😂😂
5:39 this one is actually not just for foreigners or guests .. we do it as a sign of respect with everyone, especially with elders or with women (if ur a man) and so on... and Yes the things u pointed about the right hand are completely true but also its mostly related to Islam since we're Muslims ofc. generally most of the stuff we do (respecting the elderly, not shaking hands with the opposite gender, using the right hand, welcoming and taking care of guests... etc) come from Islam... so I think the key for understanding the culture here is to have the bare minimum of understanding for the Islamic teachings.
I couldn’t agree more, and it’s always so interesting asking these sorts of questions to friends as the answers widely vary, all giving such different insights

Not only crazy but life threatening. Don’t know who taught you guys to drive because you don’t follow any rules and don’t care about other drivers’ lives. Allaahu musta’aan
Arabs since ancient times before the prophetic call to Islam have had great customs and traditions in honoring the guest, and after the prophetic call to Islam, this concept was reinforced with countless great things, including dealing with people and the importance of who is on the right.
Saudis are among the most respectful people I have ever known. They are an educated people who are open to other cultures. What I like most about them is their generosity. Their generosity is exceptional and they are always welcoming.
What you mentioned mate is absolutely spot on 👌🏽 If I may add, people in Saudi will not have big expectations of expats to understand the culture and adhere to it from day one. If you make one of these mistakes, rest assured it’s not going to be a big deal. When I’ve lived in the UK back in 2008, I was told not to wear perfume, otherwise I’d get strange looks, especially up north where I’ve resided, then I just went by that no problems at all.
Thank you for the love. I’m glad I got the information accurate too! I appreciate you sharing this 🫶🏼 I hope you enjoyed your time in the UK up north too!
Great job! That’s a sharp observation. 👍 The great thing about traveling is getting to know other cultures and traditions. As I am a Saudi, I can say that Saudis, in particular, show immense respect for others, especially those who respect our traditions and are eager to understand them. You’ll find volunteers from all over, ready to explain and help you learn! What can I say? Saudis truly are some of the most welcoming and generous people on earth. You will discover this during your stay in the Kingdom. 😊
I always wondered why Arab men in central London would cross their feet like that instead of the way British people do. So interesting. Thank you! P.s we have the right hand, firm hand shake in my culture too!
Saudi here, all good brother and the man in the 1st part who clicked to you to remove your feet is also understand that you're not familiar with those cultural stuff but telling you himself better than someone else (too extreme) in a bad way or getting wrong image of you. number 2 and 4 are quite right, meanwhile number 4 specially is serious for us and i do hope you read a bit more deeper into it, kindly.
Hi Pete. I was planning to move to Saudi from Europe. I have Muslim background. How is the current economy in KSA and what is your forecast for the next years? Maybe you can also do a video about this topic. Thanks
I’d love to help you, but unfortunately I wouldn’t be best places to go into accurate details on all of this, but what I can say, with the 2030 vision, the future looks incredibly bright!
Imagine growing up not knowing of all these things. I’m left-handed. Holding a spoon with my right hand has always been a struggle. I’m already a clumsy slow eater, and if I try using my right hand, I would be much slower and look like a 3 year-old struggling to eat. I hate going to weddings because whenever they serve food, I always use my left hand, and there’s always that random guy calling me out for “sharing my food with Satan". I sometimes avoid eating or drinking at all because of this. The worst thing is if I’m visiting someone and they randomly expect me to eat with my hands because I don’t know how to, and they usually find it funny for some reason. It never crosses my mind where someone’s feet is located (as long as it isn’t directly in front of my face), but I learned that there are actually some sick-minded, jealous individuals who hate you for whatever reason, and they would actually cross their legs towards you to offend you. I also never cared which hand someone is using to eat or to give me something. I don’t want to ever think of that. About women, It is very complicated and it depends on the family. I’ve had female friend, and both our families knew that we were friends, and it was fine because both of us are well-raised and we know our limits, but those friendships never last because they would all of a sudden cut me off after getting engaged..
@@ETSCrosswell you just don’t hang around outside during the summer - literally car to office, office to car… In the winter it’s beautiful outside and so lots of nice cafes to enjoy the outdoor weather etc. Or throughout the year you may have access to a pool or the sea 👌🏼
