As a top 200 racer, I do agree there are a lot of issues with the game and even up in unreal with all of us using all the mechanics and fundamentals the game has, getting wins is becoming more and more difficult because bumping and drafting is a big up/downside to the game. Can't really take your best route if everyone uses it to and you get pushed into a wall and die or the other way around which is don't worry about loosing a race when you can just save all 3 turbos by just drafting till lap 3 and pass everyone for a podium spot anyway.
We agree. Even as early as Plat 3 in some regions, routes get very contested to the point the race becomes a game of RNG or saving boosts. Glad you feel the same :)
Another issue is map variety. The maps look so similar, and sure, thats design. But Rocket League has courts that look very different, it just makes no sense, kinda feels rushed

The real problem- it's too bland rn. Need for Speed is a much better experience and can be had for $10. The physics of Rocket Racing are good. It's just that the same race, albeit different track, over and over just gets repetitive. It's fun to master tracks and get fast times. It's just there's nothing else to do.

The problem is, it's just a side mode with not a whole lot of love. I love racers, I grew up on them. Rocket Racing just doesn't do it for me. Especially since I can load up a couple different NFS, Burnout 3, or Mario Kart Wii.

That's an interesting take! I'll remember that when I'm developing new mechanics, that just because I put hours of time and research into creating a faster method of playing, that it doesn't make me skilled, even if it takes precise inputs and combinations. 😂😂
@Warthog2554 You really should have rephrased what you said. It absolutely does take skill to exploit certain glitches and precise button presses DOES also require skill. People choosing to play fair and not using ideal routes and shortcuts is a mistake.
I rly hope that they are planning on fixing this game now that they r back from their brake. I rly like the idea of the game (they didnt have to kill my favourite rocket league for it so i hope it wont be for nothing). Btw gr8 video❤
I think this mentality of they "killed" rocket league for rocket racing is another issue stunting the growth of the game. In reality, I think epic would have pulled the plug on trading regardless of the release of rocket racing. It makes more sense from a business standpoint.

i think it's fine being based in fort - it's got a more active players and logically will get more players than if it were in RL. that being said, at the start of the game, parts felt very rushed, and whilst that has changed - it's still not perfect. As for the other thing, the fact that it's an arcade racer somewhere between Mario Kart and TM is good in my opinion, as it's somewhat unique for a racing game, but more needs to be done to grow the player base.
Hey there! Yes - I agree that trackmania is in a far better spot than Rocket Racing - but it's also been around far longer. I think the game just needs time. Most of the problems discussed in this video have been addressed already, and the game is trending sharply upwards as of recently. It'll be interesting to see if this continues though

Yes there's a lot of glitches, but let's forget those for a sec. There's things they could've done that would make the game's ranked way more enjoyable, that doesn't require much tedious coding. For example: why tf do they have us playing the same track 3-4 times in a row?! If I wanted to play Speed Run I would, but no I want to play Ranked. Stupid oversights of the quality of life of the game like that shows me that they don't give af about the loyal players who chose to stick around, while everyone else already abandoned this crap heap.

Theres also huge inconsistency from track to track on what objects kill u or dont, some u can go straight through
