Father of 2 terrible twos with lego scars all over under feet here and I am going to make this a little bigger for their legos. Thank you for your great video!
Just got back from trip and my friend had a small around jewelry holder. I found my cosmetic bag a nightmare. I'm going to make myself one of these, thanks for posting this very clear video.
I've already made one of these as a dice bag and it's amazing and has lasted me nearly 2 years. Making another one as a birthday present for my friend, hope she loves it 😍
@@abooie No worries, thanks for responding. I've found another tutorial that tells me the diameter of the bag is roughly (diameter of circle + 1 inch) ÷ 2, which makes sense.
Brilliant!! I will be making one of these as a make up bag to take on holiday, saves me having to empty the contents of my regular one on the bed to try and find what I’m looking for. Thank you!!
Love this! I just made one, with a little trial and error. I used an old men's dress shirt that was going to be tossed and a water resistant sling bag that was also going to be tossed. It came out great! Now I'll be able to set it down on a damp counter and not have it get wet! Thanks for the video!!
Any black girls watching this and thinking it would also make a great sleep bonnet? 😂😂😴 Mine are elastic and would always get stretched out after a couple of months, however this one is drawstring so could last a lot longer. Thanks so much for the great video! I think I also have your blog.
Instructions were great! I just made one. 90 minutes is about right. I cut a 19-inch diameter circle...1/2-inch seam. So 18 inches. Not sure if you really need the notches...they are just for orientation. Two marks would suffice. Thank you. I used quilting fabric. You can use interface in between the fabric, but I think it would stiffen it too much.
X4 of 1/4 the circle would just be the circumference:) C= 2πr where r is the radius. So if you have the diameter of the circle you've already cut out (say 28cm) then halve that to find the radius (14cm) the circumference of the circle then would be =2π(14) or about 87.96 which you could round to 88cm. Much easier than trying to literally take a measurer around the fabric! And more precise
Thanks for the video. Question...I cut my two circles the exact same size. I know because I cut the fabrics together lol, wrong-side to wrong-side. I secure the circles with pins, but when I start to sew the top fabric starts to overlap the bottom fabric! The math (or physics) makes no sense to me lol. What am I doing wrong?!
Candice Oglesby hi. Yes. The finished strip (cord casing) has to be long enough to go around the circle. Whatever your circle measures around, you make your strip long enough to to go all the way around. She doesn't give you a measurement because you can make different sizes of your choice. Hope I helped!
Carol, que peça mais linda!! Amei! Só um detalhe: O comprimento que você mede logo no início não é o diâmetro e sim o comprimento da circunferência. O diâmetro seria o tamanho atravessando o círculo de ponta a ponta. Beijos!
Is the outside measurement of the folded circle a diameter or a circumference? I thought diameter is a straight line that runs thru the center of a circle and ends on the line of the circle on either side.
Dimension would be whatever you want, or whatever fabric you have on hand. The number of strips for the drawstring casing would depend on the diameter of the circle, you can substitute bias tape for that, I believe.
Hi Carolina! I'm about as new as one can be to sewing as I'm about to unpack my new machine. Can you provide some info on the type of fabric you used? Do you prewash the fabric? Could you share general tips on fabric selection for bags? I prefer something sturdy by also soft to the touch. So many cute prints out there but I want to make sure I choose something right for application. Thanks!
Oi Carol! Gosto demais dos vídeos. Parabéns pelo canal. Qual o diâmetro do círculo? Passa pra gente! Alguns seguidores são iniciantes na costura, assim como eu... e vc sabe pra quem tá iniciando é bom ter as medidas. Bjos e fica com Deus! 😘
@@motorhomingwithourkidsnz it didn't state if it's 100% or what type of cotton. Idk about you but where I live if you ask for cotton fabric you're getting half the store
The word you are looking for is perimeter. Perimeter or circumference. Those are both the distance around the outside of the circle. Diameter is across the middle.

I've had this video saved for ages and I'm finally ready to make it!! Thank you for the video.
Thank you for showing the math and I have NEVER thought of using a bobby pin!! Thank you!!
This was the easiest project ever. ANY beginner can take it on. Thank you sooooo much for sharing!! It's incredibly useful.
I made this today! So pleased with how well it turned out.

What size did you use for a dice bag?
@@b28mathstutor it was a massive plate I measured around. Sorry I don't know the exact size

This is an incredibly clear instructional. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for the tutorial of this bag. You did great explaining without a voice. Loved it ❣️
Dislike the music, found it distracting!

Made one today for my daughter, what a great size and so easy to follow along!! Thank you so much 💖
I wasn't aware she provided a size? Must of missed it.
If you make a huge circle and use a larger cord its great for kids and lego toys.
Can’t wait to try this! Thank you for sharing all your creativity ☺️💕
You just taught me how to fix the drawstring on half my hoodies and pajama pants
Amazing tutorial... Will definitely do this pouch for my baby's toys.. thank you.😍

This is fantastic! Thank you Carolina, I just have to make one - or several - of these. Thank you for sharing. Clever Lady!

Adorei, Carolina! Bem simplificado, até mesmo para quem nunca usou uma máquina de costura, assim como eu... Vou começar!

I wish i was that good in maths🥲😂

Awesome ... Made one. Thanks for the great idea

You show it so simply going to have a go at this thank you
Could interface be used in between fabric for extra sturdiness?
Is the outside measurement of the folded circle a diameter or a circumference? I thought diameter is a straight line that runs thru the center of a circle and ends on the line of the circle on either side.
you are totally correct, whats being measured is the circumference not the diameter
Parabéns pelo trabalho muito bem feito!
Thanks! To easily get the circumference double the radius and multiply by 3.1416 (π)
This is awesome! What are the ends called that you put on the silk cord to open and shut?
i need 3 of those . one for myself two for my daughters
¡Me encantó! Muy bien explicado.
What are the dimensions of the two circles? I love how big this bag is.
I Dream of Crafting your choice of circle...
Then measure for your binding.....
Sorry, but I don't get it?
Thanks, I'll use this.
BTW, the distance around the outside of a circle is called "circumference". Diameter is the distance from side to side 😊
Great bag, thank you!
Fantastic can't wait to try
I am assuming you sew the long and short strips together?
Thank you for video! ❣️ Do i not need to zigzag the cottonpieces before i ser them together?
You are welcome! No, you do not need to zigzag before. 😁
What size is the round fabric
Thank you
I love it! ❤️
I am a bit confused what is the dimension of the Circle? also a total of 4 strips cut?
Dimension would be whatever you want, or whatever fabric you have on hand. The number of strips for the drawstring casing would depend on the diameter of the circle, you can substitute bias tape for that, I believe.
Why do the edging pieces need to be cut on the diagonal please?
When you say diameter at the beginning I believe you mean circumference. Excellent tutorial
Genial!! Eu vi um tapete pra bebê que vira saco pra brinquedo, com o mesmo conceito, é super prático.
+Keera Moon isso aí para legos é 10!

Hi! You can use any quilting cotton fabric. You can buy by the yard or get a fat quarter. I usually don’t prewash those types.
@@CarolinaStefano Thank you!
What is the diameter of the circle?
amei com certeza vou fazer aqui em casa

How much fabric did you use?
Great tutorial! thanks a lot. Just did mine bag and its great.
Carol, você faz pra vender? Está no Etsy? Obrigada.
I'm a total newb but I don't understand why I just sewed the 2 strips together and now I am cutting them apart right where I sewed them...
¿Que medida tiene la circunferencia?
Great tutorial but one little error at the start - what you are measuring is not the diameter, it’s the circumference 😊
thank you for this video!
Really helpful, thanks - except that you say diameter (distance straight across the circle) when you mean circumference (distance round the outside).
I subscribed 😍
Wow👍👍👍👍👍
Eu amei essa peça. Só acho o vídeo muito rápido mas eu sei que dá pra ir pausando

Sensacional!!
Great video, but lose the music. Could you show how to put a zipper in the top instead of string closure?
Beth Bilous it wouldn’t work with a zipper and still open flat.
Thank you 👏🏼👏🏼
