Kinesiology Taping - supraspinatus muscle

  • Supraspinatus tendonosis is a chronic pain condition where the tendon fibres attaching to the upper arm bone (humerus) become worn and frayed, from overuse or just use! The tendon goes under the acromion arch and so can be the most vulnerable 'rotator cuff' muscle. Although this muscles doesn't actually rotate the arm 🙄 it raises the arm upwards from the side of the body. A diagnosis of 'frozen shoulder' is likely to involve supraspinatus tendonosis.
    Kinesiology taping isn't an exact science...a few golden rules...
    💪 if the tape causes irritation or pain take it off!
    💪 tape isn't a wax strip to take it off carefully!
    💪 adhesive glue is heat sensitive so don't apply heat to the tape as it will tack down even more!
    💪 tape already has stretch in it, so don't pull the tape too tight when applying.
    💪 the tape on between 24-48 hours.
    💪 can get the tape wet but do wash any soap off of the tape.
    💪 a good quality tape like Tiger Tape or Rock Tape

      You are so welcome. I hope that you find a practitioner in your home down that can guide you with rehabilitation. Your body is set to heal. You just need to be kind to yourself and give your shoulder the time it needs to heal.
