This is sad how accurate it is. I've never downloaded tik tok, that wanna-be vine. It's stupid and literal spyware and breeds Idiocracy, which is exactly where we're all heading as a society if things keep going as they are.
I don't mean to dump this here but I feel you're a person who understands and well, frankly you can at least voice it better than I can if you agree and understand what I'm getting at. I think people are forgetting what matters in favor of convenience and lack of pride in what we're capable of as humans. Not many have that "fight" in em anymore and it's just like a slow depressed drawn out suicide watching events unfold.
I will remain hopeful and not let my resolve dissolve in the face of despair. You make excellent content, Toons. Don't let your flame die out like most.
yup tiktok has ruined our lives, and our generation.
THIS COMMENT HAS 404 LIKES SO IF YOU LIKE IT, YOU WILL GET 404 ERRORED IRL
TikTok is literally the 8th circle of hell, being damned to forever scroll through literal sensory deprivation baby stimulation videos
TikTok is karma for not pushing the button when we had the chance.
@@cocacola4blood365 Tik Tok is revenge for the opium wars.
Even Slaanesh wont touch that
That's social media in general, exept when everyone is a piece of shit
I keep getting pulled into shorts, but I get out when I realise im mindlessly scrolling through rubbish
As someone with Autism, and therefore a God awful attention span, I'm glad that TikTok is rotting people's brains so badly that, even with a mental condition, I still have a higher functioning brain than TikTok users.
Same dude, I have as much attention span as (I actually can’t think of anything to relate to.) But the amount of stuff TilTok has done makes me glad I’ve never downloaded once.
Same but with adhd
@@Lady_of_the_Land same here, but with both autism(aspergers specifically) AND adhd... it's astounding to see what social media has done to the average person's mental functionality.
Same honestly

That is so accurate and it's not just TikTok, that also applies to Instagram and Twitter.
and yt shorts
And UA-cam, something we all use.
Hell, it applies to this very video
@@timmyvdb3 jokes on you idiot, I don't
Wait fuck
All this actually started with MTV videos. All real fast cut-shots constantly. That's why between the terrible music and videos I always called it: MushTV.
My attention span on UA-cam is bad enough. I don't even know what how bad I'd be if I needed a content boost every second.
Lmao I’ve been watching every UA-cam video on 2x speed for years before tiktok came out and honestly i feel like I’ve fried my brain worse than tiktok could’ve
If you check the shorts tab it'll get worse. trust me
I couldn't even finish reading your comment.
Me too, I stay far away from Tiktok
If you accidentally burn your bagels with this kind of attention span, then it is a sign
I don't know what's more horrifying...
The fact the grandson finds joy in mockingly using his recently deceased grandfather's image on social media, or that the grandfather's final proof of living is forever cemented as a dancing hotdog next to a clip from Family Guy.
And subway surfers
Neither. It's the fact that none of this was even a surprising twist.
The vertical format and text-to-speech bot is a close tie for second, though.
I think its the way his grandpa died
I’m sorry I couldn’t finish this video it was too long for me

I would explain it but i was only focused on the subway surfer, sorry

The cycle of Tiktok is having fun for 10 seconds then be bored for a second and then repeat, it really is a vicious cycle
More being bored 10 seconds and having fun, maybe, 1 second

A few years ago, I got myself to a point where I could sit still for way longer UA-cam videos. I'm talking about video essays over 30-40 minutes, sometimes pushing an hour. This felt like an achievement after my old attention span brain rot had me feeling like >5 minutes was pushing it. I truly hate that TikTok, UA-cam and everyone else that hosts content™️ keep pushing things hard the other way
What timing, I had my grandpas funeral today. This actually cheered me up a decent bit, thanks!

As a high school teacher, I can confirm this is accurate.
I'm in highschool and literally any adult profesional talking to me tries to make small talk about tiktok or instagram. Like "you seen anything new on tiktok?". It's especially annoying cuz i only use ifunny
@@Sruf. so what you mean to say is you use tiktok just a month later than everyone else
@@Sruf. Wtf is ifunny
Nuh uh
@@Level_ElevenMan, have we reached that point in time where some people don't know the hellplace that ifunny is?
I like how we're at a point in social media and technology that parodying them isn't the "Old man complains about kids these days" trope we used to roll our eyes at. The internet has legitimately become this absurd, and the consequences of it is starting to feel tangible.
Bonus points that the threat of some sites risking/threatening shutting down feels more like a sweet release than a crying shame.
Facts 🤓👍
are you sure we’re not just the old man now
@@thatoneguy9582 Oh, we absolutely are... But what sets us apart from the generations before and after us is that we're the last generation that had a childhood before the internet was in everyone's pockets. We had front row seats to experience the ups and downs of an ever-changing online space, so we have some grounds to argue the positive and negatives of the state of social media (and the internet as a whole).
That's not to say kids these days wont have some say, but the pendulum seems to be swinging back towards a desire to break free from being terminally online.
It's not just the old man trope anymore. Passed a certain point the more you understand technology the more wary of it you become.
@@wesnohathas1993 P-much yeah. Though it's not the technology itself that frightens me so much as what other humans are doing with that technology. For instance, Facebook actively antagonizing and stressing out their users to drive 'engagement' or spreading misinformation because letting an algo sort things automatically is tad bit cheaper and faster than vetting breaking news.
As Frank Herbert wrote - "Machines are dangerous because they multiply the number of tasks we can do without thinking."
I hate how accurate this is
Social media in general has done this. Even though I don't use TikTok, I noticed that the more time I spend on social media sites, the shorter my memory and attention span becomes.
funny how tiktok affected alot of people's attention spans, and yet depsite some of us not using it, only now i realize other social media apps is just as bad, even youtube has this problem, they got shorts for crying out loud
Id also rather use yt shorts or instagrams version of shorts than tiktok. Lets not forget all the data tiktok is sucking out its users
UA-cam shorts do be dangerous to my attention span

The sooner TikTok ceases to exist the better off we’ll all be
Edit: I’m aware that shorts will continue to exist elsewhere, that’s not my point. TikTok itself as a culture and a platform suddenly disappearing will be a collective net positive
Agreed
Agreed
I mean; youtube shorts, we still have the same issue and are short little snippets of content to consume really going to go away since everyone knows how effective it is now?
when tik tok ceases to exist it is because it was replaced with something even worse.
Agreed
What’s worse is this is definitely something that will/already has happened. Tik Tok is such a plague
The split screen with family guy AND whatever that god awful run-and-jump game is... Perfect 😂
I never understand what goes through anyone's head when they make a video where there are so many different random things going on at the same time. I'm always significantly more confused than I am entertained.
@@nezuko4590 you dont need to censor cocaine lmao, afraid of police or something?
Its chasing clout that I have a problem with. Some people always doing trends to milk the most likes outta strangers, they do it like a drug.
It's a result of what I call the "Look at me!!, pay attention to me!!" generation. There's nobody else on the planet but me...and my viewers.
Tiktok is a drug in my eyes
I mean, come on just look around you
I'm SO glad that a lot of people are aware of this problem! and it happens with other social media platforms as well
Youve activated my trap card! Funerals are so boring theses days, especially for kids who didn't even know the person very well. That's why many funeral traditions include a party to honor the deceased life and it's an open door policy to come and go. People always had shit to do, take care of the farm or whatever. This concept of a completely sober event is a result of trying to "honor" the dead by denying it as much as possible. Open caskets are prettied up, make up, flowers everywhere, they treat it like you are visiting someone in the hospital and not a celebration of life.
The living these days don't know how to process death so they follow the cookie cutter over priced mold set out by most funeral directors.
Anyway, funerals today are a nightmare for anyone that wasn't super close to the dead.
Agreed, I wish people didn’t feel like it’s such a necessity to go to a funeral of someone you only seen for 30 minutes.
Not to mention it seems kind of selfish to morn over someone leaving you when you should be celebrating about all the good moments that you had with said person.
Also funerals have better food than weddings
@@themushroommonarch ofc, eat away the stress and sorrows.
@@ionic7777 I don’t think its selfish at all to mourn. It’s part of the process of letting go and celebrating
Speaking as someone who has lost a loved one, if you’re going to a funeral to someone who you barely know, at LEAST be respectful for the family and friends of those WERE close to the person being honored.
I know that if I saw someone watching tiktok during my mom’s funeral, I’d never talk to them again.
People gotta watch 3 videos at once while washing dishes
At this point, do people even grasp what the videos are about?
@Oprator is it?
I just play music maybe listen to something funny. Videos are too distracting
I think it is actually great human civilization is getting to the point where we can multithread and get too much different informations and at once. It means our neural network is getting way active and fast years by years
ngl i low key admire how much expression you can get just panning a face around a head. big kudos.
Tiktok has learned to prey on people with ADHD
OH MY GOSH, YOURE RIGHT
I was mid watching another video when i saw this and just clicked this video. Good work you literally showed me what it does without me even watching the video
I quit tiktok 2 years ago and have actually been mentally so much better and happier (might not be related but I still don't regret it)
It didn't start with TikTok, it started with vine, was cemented with Snapchat, and fate sealed with TikTok. Now it continues with every other short form content platform, and would not die even if TikTok did.
vine was more just extremely short, funny skits, but they weren't edited in the same retention style editing format used in tiktok. It was pretty much like watching a meme complilation but more inconvenient. Also, I dont think there was much of an algorithm.
TikTok is the first ever app to make me feel like I'm "not with it" anymore and also kind of scared for the future of humanity, AKA what every generation ever eventually does
This is literally me. I got tiktok just cuz and my attention actually grew shorter. I started watching more UA-cam shorts and didn't watch to the end of 10 min videos. I have now deleted it and I have recovered but I don't think I'll ever be the same. I still feel the pull to watch something else when I reach more than 10 min.
The fact that this is under a minute long makes it even better
Shorts too, but it’s kinda a double edged sword.
I’ve managed to grow my channel almost entirely from shorts, which helps my normal videos reach more people, but also gives the looming threat of the original people leaving because they found out I’m just a normal dude using that side of the platform as a way to grow, and not to dedicate myself to craposts and edits
its scary how accurate this is
The first time I heard the tiktok text to speech, that didn't make me want to rip out my ear drums.
I swear, I hate hearing that dumbass thing all the time. I'd do anything to stop hearing it, even if death is on the table
Kids these days have it easy. Back in my day, we had Vine and couldn’t last even seven seconds without swiping.
TikTok figured out I was gay in like 2 minutes.
And I don't know how to feel about that.
This is pure FACTS
As a person in school I can say that this is incredibly accurate people need to take their phones the second that the teacher stops lecturing
Being in college, I get on my phone when the professor just straight up bores me with irrelevant info. I dont have tiktok but sometimes attention has nothing to do with being done with a lecture 😭
This isn't even a joke, this is just what people actually do
"Huh what are you talking about I was looking at my tiktok"
twitter, reddit, and tiktok prove theres a such thing as too much freedom
It's actually slavery. That's the beauty of it.
Agree
Internet Addiction
Not exactly sure you can post what you want without getting heavy fire in twitter or reddit. As for the too much freedom segment, well we can all agree that sending the most fucked up pieces of media in Discord, ranging from unhinged dark humor, "thuggery", CP, leaked/classified documents and many more that can be easily shared around servers clearly fits thy statements. Discord - Its in the name, but i personally think the most unhinged aspects of well, us, are just free to act accordingly and is usually left unchecked. Thats too much freedom.
Just had my grandfather’s funeral so this video is both hilarious and emotionally damaging

I am *never* getting TikTok.

It hurts my soul to see how far we've fallen
There I times when I doubt my decisions in life but then I remember I've never gone near tic tok or Twitter. Good job me!
Why I as a teacher hate TikTok summarized in 41 seconds.
The worst part is this will probably re-uploaded to Tik Tok with another Family Guy video around it.
I was watching one of those as soon as you uploaded it
Yup, truly describes society...
100%, indefinitely, cannot deny, straight up, facts
The clock is ticking
We all wait for the day for it all to end

tiktok has melted so many peoples brains into mush this past year
The man died with a smile on his face, he knows he went out on top.
I never downloaded tiktok, and my attention span is normal. SOOOOOO glad.
You even added in the 50 over-used sound effects, accurate.
this is the most true video I've seen all day
Not only did I just watch this 40 second video (shocker, I know) not only did I sit for 15 minutes listening to some random guy talk about the Nintendo Direct or something, I ALSO don't use TikTok. So luckily, my attention span is just fine.
The worst part is, we all know damn well something like this has probably happened in real life.
I’m a long form content enthusiast myself. Short videos are a nice little break every now and again, but they usually don’t have much substance to them
How true some people do act like that’s the case
I expected the kid to be the one to turn the grandfather into a hot dog.
That went even DARKER than what I was expecting,
Imagine someone who has ADHD and watches TikTok. Their attention span will be more dead then grandpa.
i feel like their attention span time will reach a negative number
w- wait how would that even work
This just reminds me of the 'Showing Grandma My Shiny Dusknoir' post from 4Chan.
Good to know the human race is continuing to evolve in such an admirable direction.
This is why I dont use any kind of social media other then youtube discord and whatsup
Remember how parents would say staring at a screen all day will rot your brain? Well they're the ones doing it now thanks to Tiktok.
I think those parents are right. I think people's brains are rotting
The sound of the tiktok robot voice will forever be one of the most insufferable things to have ever plagued my ears.
Well at least it's only available on Tik Tok so that means not as many creators have access to it
Fr tik tok has litterly destroyed my attention span
"60 second videos will ruin people's attention spans 😭"

ON POINT MAN...sadly
Absolute YIKES moment right there XD
What’s crazier is that TikTok in China is actually educational
wait WHAT?!
you just gave me one reason to go there!!
but i still couldn't because learning that language is near impossible
I GENUINELY think that Tiktok has users in the range of 10-30, if anyone is above 30 I'm inclined to believe that they're doing something ACTUALLY productive like animal education videos or cooking videos or tech videos or such instead of "pranks" and challenges and dances.
Seeing someone in their late 20s watching pranks on tiktok would depress the shit out of me
Nah even the older folks at my workplace just browse the same old shit everyone else is browsing. It's so annoying. Like, I put in headphones for break and they're all just full blasting tiktok. I absolutely despise tiktok.
@@hamsterman1995 I relate, but I'm a high schooler. Every time someone is doing a Tiktok in the hall, I find a way to go completely around, if not, turn around in disgust
