That doctor is wrong about a few things:
    1. If Lyme can cross the blood brain barrier, then it is possible for a pregnant Mom to pass the disease to her unborn child.
    2. It’s up to 20% of people that do not fully recover. It’s not 10%
    3. Not all people get the classic bulls eye rash nor do they remember if they got bit.
    4. Even if you are positive, the tests aren’t accurate. And the basic Lyme tests only cover certain strains of borrelia.
    5. By the time the antibodies have shown up in your system, it’s already reached a chronic state.

Great comment. Such stories like this get me so irritated, due to the nitwit media thinking the CDC and the IDSA are the only sources of information. (Or, God-forbid, a "celebrity.") Even before losing our jobs, homes, savings, family, friends, and sanity (largely due to gaslighting by most conventional healthcare practitioners), most of us can't afford to jet around the country or the world to get exotic, expensive, and experimental tests, treatments, medications, and supplements. It's such a larger, complicated mess than most understand, unless they or their family/friend are going through it.

What test can you do that is accurate? What do you suggest? Thanks 💞

@@ParisMadridLondon I'm not sure if you were asking me or the original commenter. But, I'll offer a couple of comments, as it's a complicated mess that cannot be easily conveyed in a few UA-cam comments.
      1. "Lyme Disease" is technically one bacteria named Borrelia Burgdorferi.
      2. However, those of us in the chronic illness community often use the term "Lyme" to also include any of the many possible co-infections like Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Ehrlichiosis, Babesiosis, Tularemia, Colorado Tick Fever, Powassan Virus, Borrelia Miyamotoi, Anaplasmosis, Bartonellosis, and others that ticks can carry.
      3. Ticks are not the only vector capable of spreading Lyme.
      4. Lyme Disease is a clinical diagnosis, based on a qualified Lyme-literate doctor examining the patient, taking a detailed history, and considering exposure, symptoms, lab tests, and other information.
      5. If a person presents with a "bulls eye" rash (called "Erythema Migrans"), that alone is sufficient to diagnose Lyme Disease, as no other condition is currently known to cause that rash.
      6. Testing for "Lyme" and co-infections is often difficult, contentious, and uncertain, for a variety of reasons too complex to summarize here. Some reasons, though, have to do with the sensitivity and specificity of tests, as well as cross-reactivity.
      7. Because of many items mentioned above, a provider may forgo testing to save the patient's money (any testing that may be worthwhile is rarely covered by insurance) and simply begin treating them based on their history, exposure, and symptoms.
      8. With all this in mind, I'll list some labs that offer a variety of testing. Again, testing isn't perfect and there are a variety of tests available. They're not all created equal. Sometimes, multiple or repeated tests may be ordered to look for one pathogen.
      *Tests*
      ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immunoassay)
      Western Blot
      ImmunoBlot
      PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction)
      Lyme DOT-BLOT
      Reverse Western Blot
      IFA (Immunofluorescence Assay)
Babesia FISH (Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization)
Bartonella FISH (Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization)
      CD57
      LTT-MELISA
      Lyme IGXSpot
      Borrelia EliSpot
      Candida
      Chlamydia
      Mycoplasma
      *Labs*
      IGeneX
      Fry Laboratories
      Clongen
      MELISA
      Galaxy Diagnostics
      ImmunoSciences Lab

@@karlhungus5554 Thank you for taking the time to add your comments. I sure hope anybody reading this will benefit from it. I plan on using IGenX cause I really just want to know which coinfections I have. I am guessing, but I believe this will give me more clarity and give me peace of mind knowing. Plus, I still do believe that I have Lyme in my system even though I had an IV treatment for one month. I still feel like crap warmed over.😂💀😭

We hope Bella gets well soon! I enjoy watching the fashion shows on the internet. Lyme disease is caused by a tick desease. A lot of the deer in this area carry Lyme Disease. You aren't going to believe this but Iron Tonic ( SSS Tonic or Getitol) will help your symtoms go away. Just take 1 spoon a day for the first week. Children under 12 should not take it.

    • @karlhungus5554
      @karlhungus5554 9 місяців тому +3

@@NicholleChristineEdwards - That's good that she's aware of ILADS. Eventually, after we've been ignored and marginalized long enough, we usually end up finding other avenues for help. As you and her both know, even the term "Lyme" is problematic, because it's limiting. Lyme Disease is one condition caused by one bacteria. Of course, ticks and other vectors can carry a multitude of different bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. That's why "Lyme" should probably be called "Lyme and Co-Infections," unless the person ONLY has the ONE bacteria associated with Lyme Disease. That one bacteria is Borrelia burgdorferi.
Anyway, with that stated, the path to healing is different for everyone, since each of us is usually dealing with a different mixture of infections that the next person. People can heal with oral antibiotics, intravenous antibiotics, herbal therapy, or some combination of these. Other therapies that may potentially help include hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), bee venom therapy (BVT), Rife therapy, 10-pass ozone, homeopathy (personally, I think this is baloney), and many others.
Other factors like diet, sleep, sunlight exposure, blue light, circadian rhythms, grounding, electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs) from cell phones and WiFi, and other things can have varying impacts. Many people do things in combination, so we can't always be sure what's helping, what's hurting, or what's doing nothing.
Some people/resources to investigate and consider:
      Stephen Harrod Buhner
      RawlsMD/Bill Rawls, MD
Vital Plan (Bill Rawls, MD is co-owner)
Treat Lyme by Marty Ross MD
      CanGetBetter/Richard I. Horowitz, MD
Jemsek Speciality Clinic/Joseph G. Jemsek, MD
      NutraMedix/Cowden Support Program
      Real Food Rebel
      Green Dragon Botanicals
      Woodland Essence
      LymeCore Botanicals
      Elk Mountain Herbs
      Dynamic Neural Retraining System (DNRS)
      Gupta Program
There's so many resources that could potentially help. This disease is a mess, much like many chronic illnesses. This doesn't even get into discussions about many other things that could be a factor, such as mold exposure, dental infections, chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS), and numerous other possibilities. Again, it's a big jumble.
I hope maybe something in this list will either prove useful or lead you and your cousin to something useful. God bless you both. ❤
