In this shopping video we get our weekly food shop from Morrisons for the first time and see what is actually like, and whether or not it is cheap or expensive. We loved exploring the store, using the More Card which is Morrisons loyalty scheme, checking out their offers and deals, and checking out the Morrison vegan food, and get ourselves a great no budget vegan food haul!
This is the first time we have done this challenge. This video is good for anyone looking for money saving tips, shopping on a budget, looking for Morrisons vegan food plant revolution range, also for anyone conscious of the cost of living or their financial situation, or anyone just trying to save money, as it will help with making money! Morrisons has been around as a shop since the 1950's they took over safeway about 20 years ago.
Who remembers good old kwik save? I use to love that place. Pile it high sell it cheap lol
i do but also Fine Fare was another where they jus opened the boxes and sold things cheep

23:50 I would rather spend 49p on chocolate than not have any chocolate at all and I’ve tried that chocolate before and it’s not bad at all and it’s cheaper than Lidl
I love Morrisons I find it has very good quality food I'm surprised that you didn't think they had organic items and that they were expensive which granted they are in some things but the quality is so good xx
One more thing yes organic don't have as many pesticides but they are still allowed two which for me is not good so as a pensioner I don't buy organic xx Morrisons ha e always been Morrisons but I believe they bought out Safeway years ago xx

It's so nice to see you both excited about the deals. I will forewarn you that the More Card is pretty poor in comparison to other loyalty cards.
I've had it for 4 years (I shop there 3x a week) and still only have 500 out of 5,000 points.
I got the cotton candy grapes from Morrison's the other week there soooo good 😊 and the wonky Veg nothing wrong with them great video guys ❤ xx

Morrisons used to be called Safeway, I remember it as a kid😊
Another great video! Morrisons was established in 1899 - been around a while but i think they didn't have many stores down south until more recently.

My local Morrisons have an incredible salad bar with loads of vegan options! Highly recommend if you’re travelling and need lunch!

Refried beans are so easy! It’s pinto beans. Canned are easy, but dried are super cheap (easy in the instant pot). I boil them, add some garlic and onion powder, salt. Blitz them up or smash them. They freeze very well too. Love your videos (Katie, I think you are the sweetest person)- jealous of the prices watching from the US.
Yeah but making them without the lard is just not right.

Christmas always starts after the kids go back to school at Morrisons. I have done my shopping in lidls, aldi, Asda, Tescos,M&S ,Waitrose as well as Morrisons and I find that Morrison is cheaper for my weekly shop compared to the others

William Morrison was founded in Bradford in 1899 and has always been big in Yorkshire and the North generally. 20 years ago they took over Safeway who were mainly bases in the South. A couple of years back they were taken over by CDR of America.
Really enjoyed this video and was really surprised at the price of your shopping, thought it would be much dearer for that amount of shopping. Morrisons have also taken over some of the Mc Coll shops. They have a great range of gluten free products xx
Morrisons has always been called Morrisons if you are from West Yorkshire like me - or Wm. Morrison as it said on the outside. At some point about 20 years ago they bought out Safeway, so Morrisons appeared where there used to be a Safeway. Maybe that's why you think they were called something else.

It was Wm. Morrisons. Morrisons bought out Safeway - many of the old Safeway stores then became Morrisons. Unless you lived in West Yorkshire, you probably didn't see a Morrisons until 2000, but they were all over the place before Safeway even existed in the UK

Morrison's was a northern supermarket chain it always existed.... based in Leeds.... back in the 90s Safeway (use to be Gateway) nearly went bust and Morrison's bought them.... then they scrapped the Safeway name. That is why Morrison's appeared elsewhere in Uk.

Katie: read the back of the olive oil to see ingredients and where they are getting their olives. Use dark glass and one kind of olives from one country only! Some can be from multiple farms and combining. I just learned that. Go figure!!
Very good advice. I will only buy Extra Virgin olive oil in dark glass that comes from one country. I get mine from Costco.

@@FamilyFreedom I was shocked when I read that. Apparently, they get the lower grade olives from different farms and put together. When buying, look for a single farm and the dark glass helps keep the light out to maintain quality. I used to buy Bertoli at one but no good as in plastic.
I wish our stores had lovely produce like yours. The prices are so high that people on a budget are really struggling. Your lettuces and fresh berries are so cheap!!! I always stock up a bit on sale items to save long term. Most only do shopping twice a month or once a month and then buy emergencies to backfill.

Thank you for doing Morrisons .it's the only supermarket apart from a wee co op that's available to me . I rely on son doing my shopping or occasionally a home delivery . I can't eat much due to health reasons and lack motivation as cant physically see what's available in store and online doesn't show everything . I basically eat one slice of toast a day and some fruit and occasionally oats 😢 I seen this and was glad to see the flax seed mix which I always forget to order and as I need to up my iron I'm happy to see it on offer 😊 so i ordered a couple .. also got bags of raisins and sultanas on offer came up as suggestion . I also got giant avocado that I was unaware they sold and the bag of chic peas .. so thank you ☺️ Would you ever consider doing some easy non spicy meal ideas that can also be frozen ? I'm a bowel cancer survivor and recovery affected my stomach too and eating etc is painful but I'm trying to eat small . I'm desperate for iron ,and protein at moment . Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ❤ I've been vegan for 5 years after a lifetime of being Vegetarian and it was you guys that suggested conspiracy I think that made me stop consuming milk therefore became vegan ( I never ate eggs etc anyway ) oh sorry for long comment .. are refried beans spicy ? I'm intrigued by them always 😂
I use the refried beans to make a nice vegan "meat"loaf. 😋

Morrisons has always been Morrisons, it’s an old Yorkshire based supermarket, William Morrisons. Not connected to the American supper market chains. I have shopped at Morrisons for 30 years plus. It has always been a fair priced supermarket. British based and British produce mostly.
Where I live, Morrisons is the best online supermarket. The delivery is cheap or free and you can mostly get a slot whenever you want. Also, I rarely get a substitution with them unlike Tesco!
And my dad loves there doughnuts literally would go there just for doughnuts…he had to cut down doctors orders…seriously

Some shops closed down like Safeway and morisons moved into some of their stores. Where i lived there was a shop called William low and that closed and Tesco took over the shop building
The stores in America are already getting ready for Halloween nice grocery shop
The company was founded in June 1899 by William Morrison.. it started as a normal shop but then grew into the supermarkets we have today.. its very old..x

One recommendation I do have is their Savers dark chocolate that you passed by, it tastes really nice and in my opinion better than Lidl's version, you have to try it next time! 🍫😋🌱

My local Heron are selling Violife slices for 79p. They recently stocked Violife Chedderton for only 49p for a 200g block, stuff that was nearing it's sell by date.

Most current Morrisons in the south of the uk, used to be Safeway or Kwick save, when the latters went out of business Morrisons expanded
I love morrisons. There bit more expensive than e.g.i but amazing range of products and fresh items are very good quality.
For beans and lentils etc get to wing yip. They sell a vast selection of tofu too
A lot of Morrisons stuff is cheaper than the others , i do a big shop on whats on offer .I had 5% offer on the app for pet food , with my staff 15% discount and spending £100 , i also got 9000 points on my more card , win win 🙂

It used to be called safeway ,morrisons has always been a greengrocers till they bought over safeway.
A lot of our Morrisons in the northwest used to be Safeway.

I've worked retail my whole career, so I have seen Christmas stock come in to the back warehouse in June ie large chocolate tubs, wrapping paper etc

Morrisons used to be Safeway or they wete here in Cannock in Staffordshire. Morrisons do seem to have dropped their prices recently, as quite a few of my friends have st 17:23 arted going there. Enjoy!!!

Morrison's festival called Safeway when I was a small child. I believe it changed sometime in the '90s but don't quote me on the exact time
😊Morrisons is a bit different as they have their own factories for quite a few things e.g. meat (butchery not slaughter), bakery, with some in store bake off of specific product.
Other supermarkets outsource.
Also quality is more important often
I like morrisons but haven't been for a few years as my husband doesn't like driving far

Morrisons have been around for 125 years. They are based in Bradford ad untill 1998 we're based in the North. The first two shops in the South were Chingford and Erith. They then took over Safeway. Their online shopping is good and you can get your points and deals.if you are in a hurray and have a Prime account and aren't bothered about points or deals Amazon will pick and deliver within 2 hrs.
I did not realise you have never been to morrisons you can get some great cheap things there some great bakery items
Morrisons first started off as Internationals then it changed to Gateways then to Somerfields.
I would like for you to show the ingredients in bread, and processed food that you purchase sometime. Compared to the U.S. , I’ve heard that the U.K. doesn’t allow certain things to be added to your food.❤

Wrong. Morrison’s has always been Morrison’s since 1899. Safeway was taken over by Morrison’s, that’s why some Safeways changed to a Morrisons.

Safeway is American, they had a bit of a collaboration with UK supermarkets ( sainsburys) but never really took.off here.

You should try their cauliflower cheese grills in the plant range they are delicious. I am a meat eater but Friday I did buy their spicy bean burgers and their cauli grills for the days I just want to keep away from meat. I never used to shop at Morrisons but lately the majority of my food is from there as we tend to keep away from alot of pre made stuff (frozen) and go for fresh. We love their fresh noodles make quite a few stir frys and they do some bags of fresh stir fry veg to go with them so check them out next time x
