Teles are my favourite. I own 4 of them and I may get another one for my 60th birthday in september. It's a proven fact that a man can never have too many Teles. Nice playing Jake, keep on rocking.

Fender did a great job. i tweaked the action a little on mine that that I can go completely nuts on it. hahaha That Texas Tea finish is beyond awesome. Play often, play with passion! peace.

Congrats my Musical Brother.!! I know that you'll be picking that axe like a mojo tornado! The white axe is super beautiful. It has a very mello sparkle in the finish that dosen't show up in my video. You're going to love the neck too. I can't say enough good things about it. The weight is perfect too. Balance lets you play for hours without a back ache. I use strap locks on mine. Make certain to get a cool strap. (like a rock star...hahahaha) I like the straps made by the Lakota tribe but there are many. This is kind of like buying a nice neck tie for an expensive suit. hahaha. At any rate.....the only REAL advice I can give you is to PLAY WITH PASSION !!!!! peace.🎵
Try finding a lefthand around this area. G.C., forget it. At least Huber Breese carries some. Loved the rockin' out with that funky bass and drum track. Awesome.
Hello my friend. Thank you for the shout out. Yeah , Hueber and Breese is great. I've purchased a bunch of stuff from them. They have excellent, fair pricing too. Their knowledge of the products they sell is absolutely superb. As for lefty stuff.... Overall it suffers throughout the music world. On the other hand, some of my fave players are lefties. Like Tony Iommi, Jimi, Paul McCartney, Doyle Brammel, Kurt Cobain, Joe Perry (plays right handed), joan Jett (plays right handed) and a few others. Keep playing your music...right or left handed ! Rock steady and stay safe.

The video doesn't really show the brilliance of the slight sparkle in the finish, but I love what fender has done with the modern design. I originally wanted the Texas TEA finish, but it was nowhere to be found at the time. It all worked out well and I am happy. Hello my friend! Thank you for the shout out. Congrats on your Tele too. You're going to love it. So many big hits are played on a Telecaster. They are versatile too. Any style can be played on them. The simplicity is also quite amazing. an idea from the 50's that's still very relevant to today's music. Doesn't matter if you're in the swamp or on Broadway, the Tele has you covered. So.. the only real advice I can give you about your guitar is to PLAY WITH PASSION!!!! 😀 PEACE!

I always thought that the theme from the 'MONKEES' TV show was played on a Gretsch. It was actually a tele. ( ua-cam.com/video/7L6Vin-5188/v-deo.htmlsi=J56jx0gX9evDEm_F ) These things can produce so many sounds and are capable of all kinds of styles. hello my friend. Thanks for hanging in there with me. Yes, this tele is great. fender did a great job. I love having 6 saddles and the truss rod is accessible from the headstock, a feature that I wasn't too crazy about on the Tele Elite. So, it's all goo now. Fender builds great guitars. Keep on pickin' my friend.

Great work Jake! Would probably go with a black pick guard on that. Almost too clean in appearance but sounds really good. Leaning toward the Ultra Tele. Wish they had it in Sonic Gray.
Hello my friend. This axe is great. I originally wanted the Texas Tea version but that color was sold out for months in advance. Oh well, this thing still gets the job done. Even the case is cool. Fender does have a limited choice in colors for this model but regardless the color....it rocks! I think that you would really enjoy this Tele. But....the main thing to remember is to >>>PLAY WITH PASSION! peace.

I really love the way they paid attention to detail. it's a really fun instrument to play. I tweaked the string height a little lower than what came out of the box and I was blown away. WOW. BOOM BOOM out go the lights. hahaha. it's a real smacker of a sound. Rock on my friend. Keep your music HOT!

I love this thing. it's got all the torch and twang you need. Jimmy Page used one on the first Zep LP and beyond. It was even used on the opening theme for the MONKEES TV series theme song. just picked one of these up in Texas Tea color. LOVE IT. amazing guitar. have a MIM Strat that is not getting much use anymore... wish I could play 1% as good as you - wow!
Hello T Hoff. Congrats on the new axe. Yeah....I know that feeling when you bring another source of joy into your life. hahaha. Well, Texas Tea is an amazing color. That was my first choice too but somehow they sold out of that color so I ended up with the white one. It's ALL GOOD! Now.....play play play and play some more. As for the Strat....hang on to it. Those MIM's are still cool. Throw a different pick guard on it to dress it up. Later on put a different set of pickups in it. I've got some MIM's too and they are still useful. But....overall I have just one piece of advice for you.................................PLAY WITH PASSION!!!! peace and good health be with you!

I love the way Fender took care of the fret edges and the beautiful paint job. i have a sparkle white finish. It's stunning to the naked eye. Videos don't show the beautiful of this instrument. It’s hard to see that finish in the video but I’ve seen pictures of it where it’s in just the right light and you are 100% correct, it is absolutely stunning! It’s like a white metallic finish… and that it’s got that black binding around it, WOW! I notice you play with a lot of thumb over the top technique, I do that as well. How does that neck feel when you use your thumb over the top like that? Anyway… congratulations on a fantastic telecaster! I would love to get one just like it!
Hello jlr22159, Thank you for visiting my channel. Yeah, this Tele Ultra is really something special. The camera doesn't pick up the stunning finish of the body but when you see this thing in person it's a knock out. The neck is perfect for my hand. I have always played with my thumb over the 6th string. hahha, Yep, just clumsy I suppose but it helps me to get to those whacky notes on the 6th string much quicker. ha. I have to say that the pickups on this Telecaster model are perfectly balanced and tonally right where I personally like it. I play through Mesa Boogie amps but....ANY good amp is going to help you deliver the sonic goods to your ears. Geeez, Fender totally got it right. So, be safe and stay healthy. the world needs musicians! above all.....PLAY WITH PASSION! peace.

Hi Marc. hahaha. I'm no rock star. But I love to play. This Tele Ultra has a very good feel. Not exactly vintage but it lets you go to twang town or metalsville when ever you want. haha. Fender did a great job with updating the pickups too. Their noiseless pickups make a big difference when you want to go with a high gain sound. No problem. Well, be safe and play more guitar!! Telecasters are an entity all it's own. It's like the space aliens landed at Leo Fender's house and passed magic scrolls to him. Hello Francis LaLonde ! Well, as always, there are a million factors about why something is liked or not. I love the Fender noiseless pickups in this Tele. I like to play through Mesa Boogie amps and I use an Eventide H9 for effects from time to time. needless to say, my set up is different from the next person so the pickup choices are affected by the other items that might be in the signal chain. ohhh.....what the heck....JUST PLAY what you want to play and enjoy it. That's what it comes down to. If you get enjoyment out of something that is just cause to go with it. So....the only real advice I can give you is to PLAY WITH PASSION! peace! I have to admit that the Telecaster is a very versatile instrument and can be used in many different styles of music. It's really MAGICAL in my opinion. Hello and congrats on your Tele !! Butterscotch blonde is awesome. The body binding looks soooooo good with that color. No open tuning for me. I should probably do some stuff with different tunings. It's all good stuff to learn. I hope that you are safe and healthy and of course playing that tele like crazy. Yeah, you did good. From what I can see there is a shortage of guitars out there. At least you snagged a good one at the right time. I think fender hit the ball out of the park with the ULTRA series. So....keep on picking and be safe!
@@jakesmith4506 Yeah. On a second viewing I can see. I was half asleep when I watched this initially. They are great guitars. Although mine had a tone knob defect and I had to exchange it. Rare for Fender's quality control to let that slip past. The post under the knob was almost frozen, so the knob would just strip and go loose. Disappointing. But I've got a new one on the way. You be well also.

Yes I do! and Thank you David, for visiting my channel. Man.....the Tele Ultra is so cool. I think it's a better deal than the Strat Ultra. The Tele Ultra is cosmetically beautiful. Of course the tone of the instrument rocks. Everyone has different tastes. That's what makes all of this so much fun. Ever hear of a guy named 'John 5' ? He's a Tele guy too and he's is really a blaze on the Tele. he's playing for Rob Zombie now but his solo stuff is hot. Check him out. Another hot Fender guy is Johnny Hilliard. wow. jake smith thanks for the reply. I dig your content! I got the ultra telecaster yesterday.. I had it set up with 10-46s because I am new to electric (played mostly acoustic to date).. was curious what you play for string gauge on your telecasters and if you had a point of view ? I find even 10-46s seem light to me I am trying To learn to adapt to lighter strings and electric.. jam on! And thanks for the great content

Hello Progjsa, Thank you for watching my channel. The Tele ULTRA is pretty sweet indeed. I think that this Tele can twang. It is definitely modern. But, if you really need serious Tele Twang there are other Fender Telecasters that will take you deeper into twang. Don't get me wrong, You would definitely love the ULTRA but ask yourself how much TWANG you need. It's not going to sound like early Merle Haggard. Keep that in mind while you are making a decision. But if you play other styles this Tele can get you there. Either way, I think you will make a good choice. I love this Tele. I also have a 1995 Tele standard. It's very cool. So, keep on pickin' and never stop. peace.

Hello Tom. Thanks for checking out my channel. YES, the Tele Ultra is worth every dime. The quality and sound are fabulous. Everyone has a preference on styles and sounds. the Tele is a surprising instrument. Country, blues, jazz and even metal can be played on one. Check out John 5 sometime. Everyone has a different budget too. One thing to remember is that american made Fenders, and Gibsons tend to keep their value over time. Just try buying a 1964 Strat today. hahahaha. I'm certainly not a fortune teller but in my opinion your american made Telecaster should increase in value over the years. Keep in mind that any item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. But in the case of american made guitars the willingness could be greater than an import from China or Indonesia. Rock on my friend. Play with PASSION!

I actually went down to check out the fender stratocaster player series, but I didn't like it..so I checked out som other guitars, and were floored by the ultra telecaster..way over my budget for now, but I bought a squier 50's vibe strat, which surprised me! Hi Sid, thank you for looking at my channel. YES, I still love my Tele Ultra. It's great. I don't think color matters because Fender did such a great job on the finishes. First, I wanted the Texas Tea, then I saw a clean photo of the white one. I was immediately swayed in that direction. But.... at the time Texas tea was sold out so.....it all worked out well. You will love the new pickups they put in this thing. The sound is great because it sounds like a Tele should sound. Happy hunting. You will be just fine with your selection. Your best guitar is always the one you have in your hands at the moment!! haha. BE SAFE !!!! peace.

Hi Steve, nope, no straps but that's ok. Fender does give you the Schaller strap lock system. To me, that's more useful than a strap I will never use. In the meantime, this is a great guitar to play. Hello David, thanks for tuning in. YES, that click takes the tone control out of the circuit, so, you're running raw. It's a nice feature. As you roll back down out of the click it's just a normal tone control. It's fun to click in when you're going with a high gain burst. Geez, Fender really put a lot of options into the Ultra tele. I have a Gibson that has a push pull in the second tone knob that takes all of the tone circuit out of the instrument. It's great when I do high gain. These days there are so many cool options with guitars. but....the best option is to PLAY! Be safe and healthy my friend!
