You know you're watching a high quality comic book haul when you hear names like Joe Kubert, Curt Swan, Walt Simonson, Michael Golden, John Byrne, Neal Adams, Jim Aparo, Steve Ditko, Alan Moore, George Wilson, etc... And you say you had to cut short your hunt because you were out of gas? That is an awesome haul Shannon! Can't imagine this getting even better! I LOVE the Atomic Knights (post-apocalyptic goodness before it became a thing) and if I'm not mistaken, this cool issue of Strange Adventures is the only time they appeared on the cover of the original run which is weird because it seemed like a very popular feature. That Gold Key Star Trek cover looks absolutely groovy psychedelic man!
Hey Ranger ! I felt really fortunate to find all those great comics and to see all the variety that was there.. I would have stayed longer and probably brought home twice as many goodies but my legs were beginning to go 😣 Lol Had such a great time and so many wonderful people there.. Thanks for coming by buddy ! 😊
Hey Jacob! Those Wilson covers get to be more enjoyable every time I see them.. The last time I checked the George Wilson art book wasn’t coming out till next Feb, and I’ll be surprised if it comes out THEN 😒 Appreciate you watching and commenting!😊
Incredible haul, brother, holy cow! I was just marking out book after book! We share SO many of the same collecting series/characters as we've discussed many many times and this haul is just filled with great stuff; Time Tunnel, Mighty Samson, Unexpected, Marvel Triple Action, plus books featuring JLA, Etrigan, Atomic Knights, Captain Atom, Adam Strange...just tremendous stuff, Shannon! Go Go Checks, Jonah Hex, Dr Druid, I LOVE IT! Thanks so much for shout-out, as well brother, I appreciate the kind sentiments more than you know, amigo. I've mentioned to our good friend Erik K that I want to get back to doing haul videos and this video is just another reason why, just a fantastic variety that puts the FUN in FUNNYBOOKS😉 Awesome brother congrats!🎉
Hey Rod! I was kinda thinking to myself after I got home with all these goodies that Hmmm.. This looks real similar to a Doctor Silverage haul! 😁 I could have pulled so many more books from there but I was just kinda toasted from working Saturday lol It was a great show.. Thanks for stopping by brother! 😊
Hey Damian! Funny you should say that.. I must have had at least 10 people that made a comment about the shirt and asked me where I got it lol Thanks for coming by buddy ! 😊
Nice pick ups Shannon. We do seem to collect a lot of the same books. I'm loving the Detective Comics and the Ditko Charlton comics for sure. Nice haul from the con, my friend
First off! I love your Gold Key Shirt! And I learned a new book- The Time Tunnel- nice cover on that! Strange Adventure pick ups and Sci-Fi are always sweet! Beautiful Batman books- superb covers! Great haul, I must say!
Leo! Thank you for stopping by! I had at least 10 people comment and ask me where I got that shirt lol Those smaller shows are always fun and great dealers at this one .😊 Appreciate you stopping by !
hi Shannon. Yeah I know CBM was canceled, I hope Rod is OK. Whenever I hear that someone went to a comic convention, I get envious, I hope to go to one within the next ten years😂. Fantastic books every single one of them, too many to comment on. I know it's not, but that Dinosaur in the background of World's Finest#262, reminds me a bit of Godzilla. Very cool Gold Key Star Treks, Space Family Robinson, Time Tunnel those titles have Fantastic painted covers.
Hey Michael.. I dont get to go to a whole lot of cons/shows anymore because of my schedule but I really enjoy them when I do. This one was great because it was only 10 minutes from home and had a great time with my son. Am planning on going to HeroesCon In Charlotte NC next June and meeting up with Erik K and Allen from Afta comics .. Should be fun. Thanks so much for watching and commenting my friend! 😊
😎FUN indeed My Brother ; so much enjoyment to entertain you. A fine mixture of Ages , genres and companies to reminisce about. What adds to the fun IMO of those early SA titles from anyone of those "worth-the-price-of- admission" publications is seeing the in house ads ; reading the in house checklists ; letter columns ( for those who included them) and seeing what we had to look forward to as kids when now seeing material that was published before we were either born or still to young to appreciate. What makes it even more "feel good" is having the chance to go to a local con after a long work week and having a day or two off to return to youthful comforts.
Hey brother Anthony! It absolutely was a fun show and what made it even better was that all the people there were great ! I was completely in my element and was really happy with all the books I was able to find. Thank as always for stopping by with a great comment my friend! 😊
Curt Swan doing a horror book? I gotta see that 😎 Good to see you Shannon 👊 I hope you are doing well my friend - there's a whole bag of nuts out here that are always happy to see you and brother Rod 😊 Good gosh - what a stack of books Amigo 😍😍😍 Wishing you and your family nothing but the best 🙏 See you on the next one 🫡
Hey Mike ! Great to hear from you .. I certainly enjoyed that show.. And it hurt me to leave all those comics there, but the old man just didn’t have the energy! 😂 I thought that was cool and strange about Swan doing a horror story .. Who knew ? 😮 Appreciate you watching and commenting brother! 😊
Nice haul Shannon! That Space Family Robinson #1 can be a hard book to find. You also got a couple of peak period Eerie magazines, especially that #64 which has story art by Corben and Toth as well as one of those infamous Bernie Wrightson one pagers! Excellent!
Hey Greg..I agree with you on the Eerie mags.. I just started reading one of them the other night.. Fantastic art and stories, right? And as a side note.. The ads in them led me to purchase a copy of The Spirit #1 mag which I received in the mail yesterday. I have very few of those Eisner classics and always want to collect that magazine . Thank you for coming by my friend! 😊
I know what you will be doing today. Reading all those great pick ups. Like Rod, I was marking out as well. So much good stuff I wouldn't even know where to begin. Let's just say this was a great haul indeed.
Hey Erik.. I certainly wasn’t disappointed with what I pulled out of there, that’s for sure! I would have stayed a lot longer if I’d had the energy. To say I’m an eclectic collector would be an understatement 😂. Thanks so much for stopping by brother 😊
Hey Jackson! Believe me, I would have been happy with just half of those too lol And it hurt me to leave all those long boxes full of great stuff when I left ! 😂 Thanks so much for watching and commenting my friend 😊
Cool cover on that Star Trek 30. My wife likes the cover art on those so I pick them up in dollar bins when I find them. They're usually pretty beat up for that price but still cool. The bags you use present well. What kind are they? They look like Comic Pro Line OPP.
Always a great haul when you add Neal Adams to the collection!
Always ! Thanks for watching Sara! 😊

Also, with that Gold Key tee shirt you are the coolest man in town…probably the whole state.

I love that stuff too and was so glad to find that stuff at the show. Thanks for watching 😊
