24RuLeS24RuLeS I don’t agree. This episode was decent but lost me when the Nazis didn’t kill all of them and take all the money. Then it was PLOT ARMOR.
1:23 In season 3 Hank almost died, and just before that scene, he was celebrating that Jesse wasn't going to sue him, he had bought flowers for Marie and told her on the phone that everything was going to be okay. And yet he didn't die after all that. So I wouldn't say that you can always tell in this show who is going to die by that sort of thing.
Something bad still happened to him though. He managed to save his own life there sure but not with out severe damage to his body. And this time they obviously weren't going to pull that trick again cause it was redundant. So yeah predictably he was going to die.
Yeah, strange reaction. I’ve never seen a viewer watch this episode and smile and laugh during it. But hey, everyone is different even though she doesn’t seem to have the kind of emotion most have with this episode and the whole series.
The transition from Walter White to Heisenberg over 5 and a half seasons is what the creators of Games of Thrones tried to do with Danny's character. Except they messed it up and did it over the course of 20 minutes. Putting aside the fantasy element of GOT for a second, Breaking Bad shows what great writing and fantastic character development is. It's about taking your time and slowly descending your characters into bad, rather than rushing and expecting lame foreshadowing to do that for the audience, which is what GOT in later seasons tried to do. This episode in particular is a prime example of the fantastic writing on this show. It doesn't insult the intelligence of its viewers. Nothing is black and white in Breaking Bad. It deals with nuance perfectly. Just like real life.
@Джон Таргариен They messed up Danny's character development from the very first season. If you read the books, her character is a lot more like Walter White, starts off with good intentions, but you can sense that she is descending into a power trip. In the tv show, it's almost as if they (the writers) didn't really know how to handle her character. Such a shame because she is one of the more interesting characters in the books. A lot more interesting than most of the Starks- dare i say it.
I can never say it enough how incredible the acting is in Breaking Bad. Whether Jesse is with Walter or against him, the outcome has always been the same. Jesse has always brought in elements of chaos to disrupt Heisenberg's evil plans.

@Джон Таргариен OK, I know you're a complete troll, but could you at least attempt to explain how Skyler had any part in killing Hank? It's like the ravings of a mad man with you.
You are right. The show ia about choices and decisions made. Its not so much good versus evil (Hank vs Walt e.g.) but bad decisions or good ones. Walt has even said this throughout the series i recall his convo with Junior on his birthday after Jesse had beat him up. There are very few characters who are truly innocent in the show(exceptio s are Holly and Jnr). Skylar is compicit, Jesse is complicit and of course Walt. He is one of the greatest anti heroes

It's always bothered me that at the end of the last episode Walter's glasses fall off when he dives for cover in the back of the truck, but, when he sits back up at the beginning of this episode, they're back on his face even though his hands are cuffed behind his back. LOL.

I genuinely don’t understand your criticisms of Skyler at this point. Early seasons, sure. But at this point, you can’t empathize or understand her defending her family? Jesus. Edit: To be clear, I’m not saying she’s without fault. She’s made bad choices too, but to not be on her side in any way when she’s protecting her children from the man who she believes killed her brother-in-law is baffling and y’all are making me question the empathy in people.
I don't know, I think back when she'd kicked him out of the house and was seeing the divorce lawyer (with the exception of banging Ted which certainly didn't paint her in the best light), you'd have had a point. But once she made the decision to not totally shop Walt into the feds and go down the protective custody route (okay coming clean with Walt Jnr would've been tough, but as we've seen, it was always going to happen) once she made the decision to go along with Walt and start laundering THEIR money, she's hardly a saint now is she? So in fact, the early seasons were when I was _more_ inclined to be sympathetic of her situation, basically around the time I mentioned, pretty much everything she did up to him coming clean about the Meth (pretty much) was understandable, then somewhat for maybe a little bit longer, but the fact that she again and again didn't take her lawyers very sage advice essentially showed that her morals were too weak for her greed, she certainly isn't stupid enough to not know how much blood was on that money after all.

Trying to understand your reaction, emotionally. The show is about moral greyness, and is made to make people empathise with those who do terrible things. Saying you don't feel sorry - even for Skyler? Strange. You do you tho
I don't hold Jesse totally blameless in this. If he had just left town and started a new life like he was about to do, things would not have escalated to this point. But he is careless, reckless and emotional. He doesn't think things through logically like Walt does. He's a loose cannon. So instead he just tries to burn down Walt's house -- knowing that Walt has a wife and 2 kids that could be impacted by that -- and then spills all the details about everything to Hank. Brock did not die. He came out of it fine. It's not like Walt was going to poison him again. Jesse should have just left well enough alone and left town. I mean... I can see why there are reasons to like Jesse, but I don't think he is totally innocent all the time. He can be mouthy and belligerent when it's unnecessary. Walt did save Jesse's life once or twice, so I can see how he would feel betrayed by Jesse.
