- In this video, I review the 2024 BMW xDrive40i! The X5 is one of my favorite SUV's. I just love the look and comfort you get with one. Oh yeah, and the stance in the back is money.. I've always loved the fat tires you get at the rear of the X5.. The X5 in this video is probably one of my favorite spec's that I've seen on an xDrive40....

@@mohamedomar2367 B58 engine is incredibly reliable. This is well documented. I have a B58 in a 2018 440i and has been as good as any other brand I have ever owned in terms of reliabilty.
Its a great car, but I wouldn't go as far as say that it outdrives a Cayenne.
@@johanlittorin2765it doesn’t. You can make a great argument the X5 is the most well-rounded vehicle in this segment, but there are other great choices depending on what the buyer really values - performance or soft-riding luxury, or whatever.
Love the color and this BMW X5 is my dream.

You are able to use your two fingers gesture and pause the music. I also think you are able to pause it with the button on the wheel or the center console, you can pause the music there also.

Everything is an option package to get it right. Love the look not a fan of the price. Most detailed video I have seen. You really know this vehicle

I agree I have the same exact spec in Manhattan green but 23. Honestly I’m not mad I missed most of these updates especially that screen all the way across looks cheap and no button option to override the screen. My dash is all a digital screen but there is a separation between cockpit and infotainment. 23 interior feels more personalized. Also I hate the new shifter I like having a real shift knob. Just my opinion.

Where did you get your X5 from?
@@703Speed I bought it at BMW of Silver Spring. I only live 5 minutes away from BMW of Sterling but Silver Spring had the exact options and color combo I was looking for.(Brooklyn Grey, 21 inch wheels and the M Sports package to name a few)

I am in the like buttons camp! I am thinking about trading in my 2017 X5 35I AWD but hate the all touch screen controls! I may purchase a 2023 that has the buttons instead. I hate the button shifter and prefer the older style shift control.

That is a nice looking car but I don't like the infortaincenter being on a screen. I've had a couple of cars as loaners with screen controls and you wind out taking your eyes off the road just to adjust the heat or radio.
Agreed.. I think the lack of physical controls *could* be a safety hazard
I don’t remember needing to do anything on the central infotainment screen while driving my 2024 M340i. The climate control is always on the front page and there is still physical vent control gear
Could you tell if there was any "added" engine sound through the speakers ?

I fuking hate doing all the controls through the screen, this is the perfect scenario whoever approved the design didn't even bother to test it himselves and have no idea what practicality means
Agreed. But seems like all manufactures are moving the controls throughout the screen. I don’t get it

What do you think of the AC? We test drove one over the weekend (it didn't have the climate package) and I felt like it was just sub par. Salesperson said just keep it on max. I felt like my Mercedes GLE was better
How does the suspension in comfort compare to comfort mode in the X5 M60i??

Do these come with the spare tire as standard now? I had a 2016 model X5 but it was only an option so I had to order it. I hope the spare comes standard now.
I never use my key fob. They are in my safe. My phone is set up to automatically unlock when I go near, lock when I walk away and of course start the car. One less thing to carry around.

The 48V hybrid came out in 2021, my 2022 X5 has it. The LCI for 24 did get a HP bump.
I can get a 2023 for cheap. Should I get? Will not have the fancy new screen.
I have this Tanzanite color with MSport Pro, but I added the 22 inch all-black wheels, so there is virtually no chrome on the car except for the appliqués on the back. Looks amazing; I have the ivory white leather interior. I did test drive an M60 and the engine is a beast, but IMO unnecessary. The six is a great engine and sounds incredible. Sweet spot of power and decent mileage. Fantastic car.

Do you think that 60i versions of X5 and X6 is too much? Same fuel tank but bad mileage? 6 cyl and x6 is a good combination? Is it too slow compared to AMG 53 SUV?

All car makers have made the same mistake of taking away to many buttons that you need for quick settings.
Nice color, but hate the LCI. That interior is worse than the pre LCI, and all that black area around the front looks hideous. Would much rather go with the chrome trim
Everything is an option. For 50k, you can buy this BMW. But wait! you can now add these 4 options for the low price of 40k. The cost to you is now a very low 90k. I really can't believe all of the options you need to add just to get what is really needed for the vehicle to look great and have fun with.
Hey BMW, why don't you simply make 3 versions of this vehicle? Base, limited, platinum? Make things easier for the buyer instead of teasing them with better materials and better exterior looks if they added 30k in option packages.

What you are advocating is the approach the Japanese take. Personally, I like to order and spec my cars the way I want them, which I just did with a 2024 X5, but I admit it can be confusing.
Do Apple CarPlay direction show up on HUD or just the BMW nav?

That's a tough question because the B&W is amazing. Depends how much $ you have to spend. If you have the money for the M60, then I'd definitely get that for the additional power and optional features. A loaded M60 is like $12-15,000 more than this@@abpakdeep

The dirty floor and no car mats in this nice car makes me cry.
The seat and steering heating is very weak . They hardly heat up ? Is there any fix . ? I did try thru the climate thingy , but nothing . Is anyone having a similar problem?
You can just about get the M60i X5 for this money. I’d trade the the extraneous appearance stuff for more giddy-up, thanks
For another $7k you can get a decently spec’d M60. I don’t disagree with you
I drove both and picked a very highly optioned 40i for just under $90k. You are right, and the M60 is a kick, but the B58 is now a very reliable engine. And, coming out of a Mercedes GL (now a GLS) with an 8, I was kind of tired with the low gas mileage. I think you would be happy with either.
I’m tossing up between the m60i and xdrive40i. The hardest decision ever. Help?
If you have the $ for the M60, go with that.. Much more power. What’re you looking to get out of the car?

@@haroldnguyen1876drive them both. I did. M60 is great but at the end of the day the 40i was fast enough for my needs, and the highway mileage is pushing 30.

@@scooter5940you absolutely cannot turn it off. You could pre-LCI, but you definitely cannot with this version.
That said, most people on Bimmerpost and other forums say that the batteries are good enough now that you don't think about it, and don't have to experience the annoying "engine rumble" on restart. It's seamless now.
Hope I never get so old and boring that I think a station wagon (yes, that is what they are) seem exciting.

Overpriced for you, you mean. Now, i personally am not a big enough jerk to drive a BMW. That said, if you can afford it, why not? I’m sure a large proportion of expensive car owners live with mom or in an apartment or trailer home. But, that’s consumerism! I recently got a new 2023 SQ5 for $10k off MSRP and am enjoying it quite a bit. Ya’ only live once and can’t take it with you…..

Just took delivery on my 5th X5 with M package. Best SAV ever. I don’t care about supposed depreciation. All vehicles depreciate once you drive them off off the lot.
@@lexuslicata you obviously did not pay attention to my statement. BMW has 3 vehicles in the top 10 depreciation after 5 years. My Camaro depreciates at half that rate. BMW is a great auto….way overpriced IMO
