4 months ago God took my husband of 61years home to heaven. We called this song our song . Every day each morning since his funeral I have listened to your beautiful voice . God blessed you with such talent thanks to God. Keep singing .

My husband told me that he was "gifting" this song to me to play when he was gone. It has been a blessing so many days and nights when I needed to hear him and be near him again. Our Lord and Savior has him in his hands until then. Darling I miss you so much!
Played this at my Dad's funeral. He loved this version. Brought a lot of tears and peace.
My Dad passed away in April of this year, and this was one of the songs we had played at at his funeral. My Mom chose this song. The other song we had played was "God Bless The USA" by Lee Greenwood. I chose that song, because my Dad was in the Navy during the Korean War. His funeral was a military funeral. He and My Mom celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary last December. Everybody who knew my Dad and who loves him misses him so much! He was one of those people who never seemed to have any enemies - very few, if any at all. My Dad was a Christian, and I know he's in Heaven with Jesus.
We all love you and miss you, Dad. We'll see you again when the Lord says it's time.
I just lost my husband of 41 years New Years Eve. (41 years married, 43 years together) I can't think of anything that could be more shocking than to find a loved one on the bedroom floor......gone. I'm still in shock. It was just so unexpected. The coroner said it was a massive heart attack and at the age of only 63! That may sound old to some of you youngsters out there but believe me, it's not. My prayer is that you will come running through the shallow waters, reaching for my hand........ when my time comes! I love and miss you Jim! Until we meet again....keep drawing those pictures in the sand! Fly high angel!
My mate died way too young after 22 years with him. He visits me in dreams. We hugged for a long time in the last dream this week. He was with his brothers. No one spoke. I still can feel that long hug.

Get some help with your grief. It is a shock and 63 years is way to young. You lose so much - a liver, a best friend, a confidant, a provider of many things and I’m sure he filled countless other roles in your life and heart! God bless you!

Almost 2 months God took my husband of almost 60 years. This song I had played at his funeral and I have played it every day since. It is so beautiful and I thank Jimmie Fortune and his beautiful voice for singing this song. It brings comfort to my grieving heart.
No dpubt God lead me to this song while listening on youtube. It just popped up and I had never heard it before. I lost my husband suddenly and have found comfort in my deep grief from this marvelous performance. Rather than cry like many slow sad songs, I smile all the way thru it picturing my husbands joy. When you lose your soul mate you have a constant tie to the promises of God which my loving Ernie is now experiencing. Thank you Jimmy Fortune for offering your gift back to the Lord. My husband heard this song one night when Jimmy Fortune was on Larry's Country Diner. He wanted it played at his funeral when the time came. Well he passed back in January and I has it played at his funeral. We were married 56 years and he had been really sick the past 3 years, and I know he is in a better place but I sure do miss him. That is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard and it will always be special to me .
My husband had cancer and died a month ago. He has been playing this for me for 2 or 3 years. He said recently “ I will be waiting”.

I recently lost my wife of nearly 52 years after a 7-8 year journey with Alzheimer's Disease. And a dear friend, "Chappy", who is a retired Baptist minister (and retired as a Lt. Col. in the Army after serving two tours in 'Nam!) and who plays the dobro, while I play the guitar and sing bluegrass myself, sent me this video. I had seen it before and had actually performed it. But it so struck home under these recent circumstances. No one does it like Jimmy Fortune!
