Thanks very much for watching, don't forget to subscribe, and give the video a thumbs up if you enjoyed!!!
I love your way of teaching ! It's really fresh and student-friendly. Language teachers should all take example
you genuinely look like you teach so so well omg
You talking through how you teach the students made me smile ridiculously throughout - dude you’d make such a good teacher
This seems like such an interesting and fun experience! (Your personality is so captivating, I always look forward to your videos)
Bruh you seem more qualified to teach English than my 85 year old witch of a teacher
@@xy1784 they were being sarcastic ig
moonlight child oh I definitely wasn’t
I cant believe how much extracurricular stuff you take on, honestly an inspiration
So true
Jack you honestly are one of the most likeable UA-camrs ever, you seem like such a lovely person! I just want to be your friend 😂😂
Same.🙆 y do I not have people like him in my life?
Genuinely you are so useful to me, you are just living my life for me before I do it and feeding back. I am considering an English degree so you help me see what it's actually like in your videos and I'm planning on taking a gap year to go and teach English in another country (probably China!). I find it absolutely hilarious that everything you do is so relevant to my life and look forward to you creating more content specifically tailored to me. Thanks lol :)
I was literally shaking when I clicked into this video... I live in Shenzhen and personally know some of the people in 大朋友 (printed on your shirt). No way! What are the odds! We even have the same juice box choice lol. I could have showed you around.
You’re the best teacher ever oh my gosh, please please go onto teach English full time! You’d be amazing at it, your teaching style is exactly what we need more of in British schools at the moment. If any of my teachers had been a bit more like you I’d have done so much better in school ❤️
Suprised you even went to Shenzhen, a modern city with a large number of IT companies where I grew up as well. Hope you have a good summer experience!
You have such great ideas to support all the children. You seem to be such a great teacher so this is such an interesting and nice thing to watch.
Jack, you are the best! Not many people would go so out of their way to make everyone feel welcome! I'd love to hear about the interview process for being picked to go to China - as I'm thinking I may do this sort of thing as part of my gap year 🙌🏼 x
lol ok if anyone is wondering what he ate for the second day: the very right looks like pork with carrots and cucumbers flavoured with thick soy sauce & other sauces, red chill. The centre dish is som esort of meat slices (its hard to tell) with these vegetables named “white water snowflake”??? i can’t find a better translation but I’ll put the mandarin characters 水蓮菜 if anyone wants to google it. The white stuff on the very left is lotus roots with cliantro and more carrots i believe?
I love watching these videos, it just makes me excited for uni !!
we stan an english teacher
How do you communicate with the students, you don't speak mandarin right? What english level were the students?
Emil Öberg I was thinking this too x
Emil Öberg not sure it works the same on this programme but for people who teach English abroad they usually have a co-teacher who speaks the students’ language and helps the English teacher communicate
Emil Öberg When I went to China their English is amazing.. they have 9 lessons a day with different interventions before and after school
Hey! Just wanna give my answer, usually students get an english class just for the basics of it (during 1st to 3rd grade probably since the School is a bit high end looking). Like the writing and reading (making the audio part a bonus for them) so maybe Jack was teaching a class older than 3rd grade students maybe 5th or 6th grade. Maybe. Not sure about it, but that’s my perspective.
Big Mikey usually, the child starts to go to proper schooling by 4-5 years old. I’m not sure with America’s policy. I’m from the Philippines tho.
It looks like such a great experience, and so much fun as well!!
Oh my god, I saw that you were in China teaching on the scamming video and wondered if you have made a vlog, so I went all the way back to here to find this, and knowing that you were in Shenzhen, my hometown, I am so happy! I hope you have enjoyed my city although this may be too late coming from 2021. I wish I had followed you during that time! 🥰
I signed up to do this about 3 years ago at my uni through the mandarin class I was taking, I got a Skype interview but ended up turning it down because I just felt I was not confident enough to do it! Although it looks like you had an amazing time, watching your video confirmed that it wasn’t for me and I made the right choice at the time - no regrets!!
This is amazing, it is such a honour to watch this video. I love all your videos, congratulations on this🍀📙
Doing great things jack .. Such a proud moment this is.
I am from China and I’ve been to Shenzhen before. I am really excited that I will be studying in Durham this October 😛
I'm always really looking forward to your videos :)
They're informational yet funny and interesting. I feel like you're talking to your friends instead of a camera.
Also kind of amazing how much you're doing and achieving - Very inspirational :)
i must say we are all impressed to see you teaching Jack!
Honestly you seem like you’d make such a good primary school teacher! You remind me of my year 6 teacher, he was amazing because when I was in year 6 he was in his first year of teaching so he was young, and you actually look a lot like him 😂 Love the idea of telling children that you’re going to choose them, I also have a fear to being picked on and that would have genuinely made my life so much better 😂
he protecc
he attacc
but most importantly... he comes bacc
I love how you helped the kids that were quiet. The thought of maybe getting picked when you dont know the answer was always so stressful for me, so I love how you helped those kids feel less stressed and scared :)
EXCUSE MEEE!!!!!!!! I just did that!!! I got back 2 days ago!!! I was teaching English in Anshun! I’m also a college student! My major is Teaching English as a Second Language and I used it for my internship! wow this is amazing love u!🌸💞
HHAHAH, You are such a lovely person and it is an amazing experience!!! and I am from China, doing PhD in the UK. I feel so familiar with these things, the food packages, classroom, canteen, and accommodation ( we usually four share one room considering it is a populated country). Feel sorry for you about the door, but I would say this accommodation is still not bad in China. It is so funny the Chinese characters on these kids' T-shirt is "Study Monster" if it is translated literally. I really have lots of thoughts about this programme. These kids are so lucky or even privileged to get in the camp and learn English in an immersing environment, while some kids may just waste their time on computer games simply because they come from different family background. All in all, I hope you have a wonderful time in China.
哈哈哈。当然可以,中国应该蛮开心!不难的。
OMG Jack!!! Can’t believe you just secretly came to SHENZHEN!! My hometown!! Hope you enjoy your summer in Shenzhen teaching!!! Please do more vlogs of this lovely city! BTW try VITA lemon tea it’s legit!
The school you’re at is doing a choral course for the kids w some of my conductors in Shenzhen teaching it it seems like such a nice place & the kids are so cuteeee 💕
I leave in two weeks to go and teach in Hangzhou for almost a year and you have just made me so calm about the experience. Thank you so much. Will definitely be stealing some ideas if the school will let me put them into practice
I’m currently in China on holiday!!
Aw this is bringing back memories of my China trip, can’t wait to see more of the vlogs!!
You’re just a cute ray of sunshine💛🌞 the kids are lucky to have you, I’m sure you must be an amazing teacher ! Oh btw, the weird food that you’ve never seen anything like it before is lotus root😉
I was supposed to be doing this project in Hangzhou but decided to travel around China by myself instead! Currently in Nanjing and I plan to do the project next summer.
Yes share your experience afterward !
look at the planner thriving can’t wait to finally get one
Best start to the weekend possible! Thanks Jack!!!
You would seem like an absolute amazing teacher! That bit about hating being picked on is so creative and just, nice! Also... You are soooo aDOORable ahaha
yo the editing in this is so slick and what you're doing sounds so cool! great experience for you and also for them!!
Such an interesting video. Can't wait to see more travel vlogs :) Have fun at SitC!
my literal god i literally live in Shenzhen and i am obsessed with you right now and im dying because i literally could have seen you on the street and didn't recognise you 😭😭
Yes omg beds in China are so hard. I went for 10 days and when I got home, my back was hurting so much. I love China so much though. 我非常喜欢中国!
It is what it looks like in dormitory LOL We don't sleep on this kind of bed at home. This kind of bed also made my back pain.
you're such a great teacher!
love this video! it seems like an amazing opportunity and looks so cool😱🤩🤩 x
YES ! A good day by Jack & So British to China < SUMMER 2019 >
Hi Jack, I've lived in China (more specifically Shanghai) for over 15 years before moving back to the UK. If you need any help getting used to Chinese customs and culture (especially in Chinese schools which I had attended since I was a child) definitely contact me.
you went to china for the summer and i went to england for the summer 😂 it's weird that you're so close to where i live!
You seem to be such a good teacher, Jack! 👏🏻
Did the same kind of thing in Beijing for 6 months. Was pretty sweet!!
Amazingggg video and experience jack!
OMG🙀 welcome to China! And that thing with holes are the stem of lotus.
this is was so cool!! i think i want to do something like this when i go to uni
I’m doing something like this Next Summer and I cannot wait!!🤩
Loved the video!! Can you upload your overall experience? I'm actually thinking of going after the whole Covid situation gets better. Will love to hear your experience!!(:
I was gonna sign up for this because I also saw the stall at freshers, but I didn’t realise you’d teach an entire class to yourself?! Thats mad!
hope you had a wonderful time teaching in Shenzhen.
The white food you had was lotus root which they boil and then cook like anyother veg kindof xx
The white vegetable thing is lotus root. I love it
This reminds me of tefl which is something ive always wanted to do
That’s so cool I’ve always wanted to teach abroad !! 💖
I could wish that next you come to India for teaching the children. And also thanks for all tips and tricks you shared for university students
Cool English Teacher 😀
So adorable 😍😍😍
Looks like you had a great time 😊 ✌
Mango mangoing mangone.so good at this
Lunch looks good.
omg I could really use a teacher like you
LOL. I am so familiar with your background, 100% the dormitory in China. We live in this type of room at the university.
what a cool experience!
Hi, Jack! Please go Shanghai!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love ur videos ..worth watching
Jack u r great.
Hi Jack ^_^, nice seeing you in Hong Kong, I hope the journey back wasn't too long.
Martin
WOW You really sounded like a good teacher :)
welcome to China! love from Shanghai❤️
Please come to Hong Kong again ! We love you!
Wooden bunk bed in student dorms is a thing for literally ALL Chinese schools lol. Not my personal favorite but i can still sleep pretty well on it :)
god i wish u were my teacher 😂😂 ur lessons sound so productive! r u considering going into teaching after uni??
It is whats traditional Chinese students’ dorm like hahaha, anyway enjoy ur time in Shenzhen!!!
I desperately need an English teacher like you because I've just started studying English lit.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍😍😢omg you're the best ❤❤❤❤
Omg the bed has me laughing. I'm Chinese and grew up in Canada, but I'm still used to ultra firm beds. I get the worst back pain on Western mattresses, they're way too soft! Growing up my dad would just sleep on the floor in hotel rooms because he couldn't fall asleep on the hotel mattresses.
😂 It's such a funny cultural difference.
Why do teacher never understand how uncomfortable it is to be put on the spot, especially when you dont know the answer. Good on you for getting the struggle.
Whats it like working with students when you dont also speak their language?
This is so cool I am thinking about going to China this summer to teach with Gotoco. Did you have to know Mandarin?
ideal teacher for quiet kids haha nice work jack!
when I first came to the uk as an international student in 2015. I couldn’t stand how soft the mattress was! I felt like I was sinking into the bed😂😂 We say that hard beds are better for ya since they are more supportive of your spine etc but a blank of wood is a step too far.
*Jack realising he isn’t qualified for 10 minutes straight*
i did gotoco too!
Pleaseeeeeee do a tips on solo travelling video ✌🏽🥺🥺🥺
Hope you can come to China teach English someday again maybe in Beijing? I wish to meet you 💕
WOAH! THAT WAS DOPE!!!!!!
5:26 this is so relatable haha
good work
omg me in Shenzhen too, hope you enjoy China!
Students who know more should teach the ones who need help because teacher don't really relate to the students in the present. When they talk about their student experience it's usually 2 3 decades ago and there's this big gap that makes teaching and learning ineffective
Well that is my internship decision complete. Thanks Jack.
OMG U ARE IN CHINA!!!! OMG WELCOME QwQ
Much love from Hong Kong xxxx
