That unit sounds super smooth. Almost like it needs some presence it something. It is very pleasing tone and easy on the ears, not shrill in the least. I like it.
Ola has an aversion to an amp's treble control, he likes his tone very dark.

A friend of mine is using a presence and depth pedal to make the bass shine better with this amp..sounds great with it.

First,I'm a drummer,but love guitar,Ola is freaking awsome,talent,tone,just badass. For this amp,it's crunchy but,for me needs more low end to get the chug effect that ola usually gets.
I love the kraken on the thing. wish there were more illustrations like that on instruments and equipment. Cause I would love to have big ass cthulhu on my guitar.
I thought I was the only one !!!! I believe Walrus Audio have a compressor pedal with a huge octopus on it (on some versions). It was later replaced by a diver but you can still find the giant oc around. Beautiful stuff
@@leah77 Yeah man, I feel ya. I appreciate a "blank slate" look and less definitly is more when it comes to instruments in my opinion. However there is a huge lack of artistry on instruments. The flower decals on the soundbox Ola uses in the vid are also beautiful.

Great video, suggestion for next gear review would be the fender bass breaker amps, I think you’ll be surprised how good it chugs
I love victory preamp pedals... I personally use the sherriff and it turns my 2 channel mesa boogie fillmore 50 into a 4 channel with 4 different tones and gain... I always get asked about my tone & that pedal at gigs... definitely would recommend having one
I have the the Kraken preamp pedal on my grandmeister 40 for the same effect. It really is a great line of products. Worked well on my Katana mk1 too, in fact became my gain channels of choice on that rig.
Yeah, i have the kraken vx and the copper v4 preamp pedal. And people from other bands ask me about the kraken all the time when playing live. It just has a really likeable sound.
@@toerti9589 I personally cant stand the sound lol. And it's not just the Kraken. I've tried for years to get into Victory stuff, but there's just something about the sound especially with lots of gain that I can't like. It almost has like a hollow, airy fizziness, something about the low mids maybe? I actually thought it sounded pretty good when Ola played clean though.
@@disco4535 the Victory stuff definitely has a distinctive sound. Personaly i like it but i know what you mean.
What's up Ola I've been playing the shi* out of Starzinger it'sreally is good 👍 I just wanted to tell you man you bring Joy to peoples life, in a world 🌎 that's gone mad it's nice to just chill after a long day and click on one of your videos have a laugh or two.

This and the KSR power lunchbox amp with Ceres are two best small format pedal sized amps now.
Just an idea, if you want an overdrive with bass try the Nobles ODR-1. There is so much bass they have a bass cut switch inside the battery compartment.

I use the preamp Kraken V4 with an Orange Pedalbaby for recording ... and wondering some times that there is no boost switched on ;)

Not sure whether the preamp version is just different, but I run bass at around 9 o'clock and gain at around 10-11 o'clock and it sounds good to me :D I'm boosting with a Joyo Tauren though, so maybe that is giving me all that bass and gain.

Not sure if it's the settings or that particular setup but it doesn't sound as nice as I expected it to. I have the foot pedal/pre-amp version of it and it sounds great going into the front of most amps I've tried with it so far. The EQs are quite sensative though so you have to be quite precise.

Do you use it with the 4 cable method?
I just use the preamp like a preamp.
I guess just to confirm, can you simultaneously use the amp in a cab AND run the simulated cab at the same time?
say i wanted on stage mic'd up cab but also run the cab out to my in ears, would this work?

Let's be honest, the real hero that makes anything chug is that Solar guitar.
Can u run this through the Cab Sim only or does it need a speaker load?
we can see how much ola in love with fuckin chuggin distortion by turning down the reverb level like that and by speeding up the clean sound section
