To improve efficiency hot side temperature stability and heat transfer, I’d highly recommend upgrading to a water cooling setup. Makes about a 33% efficiency difference.
It's more efficient to spread the amps across more coolers instead of trying to max them out. The more current you give them, the more waste heat they generate. So it *is* better that you're only using them to 30% capacity. But they're not very efficient in any case... fun project. ❤ to you and your dad.
this is the best explanation of this peltier system and the best use case... i will try one for my apartment in Miami! 35 degree C in summer with 90% humidity! lets test and see if it will work!
Thank you!! Now I'm thinking of a hybrid AC unit utilizing peltiers heat to create low pressured Vodka liquid (to replace freon gas complicacy) to expand through the cooling grills :)

I'm going to build something like this, but I'm going with water cooling, but also, I'm putting Multiple modules in-line with each other for 1 radiator. Conserves space and the necessity for a strong centrifugal fan.
Its wasted on energy and efficientsy. For me the best way is used second home split invester 5000btu unit. Modified the pcb board to start it at lowest watts of the compressor. 5000btu inverter unit can go low as 150watt of power

Do it oposite with pelitier.. make the cold side with fans indoors and the medal heated part outside so that way no electrical problems with weather.. that would work the same. Also realize the pelitier does not require power only..l you can heat one side with fire and the other would become cold.. so if you put this in window during winter.. cold side with cold side and turn on.. it would be hotter .. think of it at creating 1 sqaure inch a second of heat in winter or oposite in summer
I would be interested in trying this out in my car, I see 5-7 different Peltier devices and most of them are 30-50 watts I recently discovered a 135watt Peltier and I ordered a few I figure 700-900 watts of cooling should be more then noticeable in a car.
Instead of PC coolers I would have used a second long heatsink and tunnel (duplicate). Then you can mount fans on one side, and two hoses on the other side to direct the cold and exhaust air separately. You could also use one big fan as well.
Nice experiment 👍🏼. I was wondering, suppose I build this, but with only 1 peltier module. Could I put the hot side inside a pvc pipe with the fan installed the other way (sucking instead of blowing on the heatsink). Then attaching a hose to the pvc pipe, such as the ones used on clothes dryers, then the other end of the hose out the window. Could it effectively remove the heat produced by the peltier?
@@iTechnologyReviews Peltier is very inefficient. You could make better result ( watt/btu ) from diy-ing a small 200 watt fridge compressor. You just need a knowledge on how to take care of compressor safety like max running time, evacuating oxygen from copper piping and how to connect copper pipe with tin and butane welder.
@@era7928 sure you could do that as well as many other variations. However, early in the video, he says clearly he wanted to avoid using any refrigerant such as freon. Having a compressor, Schrader values, brazing and evacuating the lines and connectors, then adding freon is a lot more work than putting four Peltiers in a row. Not to mention the need for a vacuum pump and pressure gauges and, most important, the very expensive freon itself, which, in the USA at least, no company will sell to you unless you have an EPA certification for handling such refrigerants. Granted, the Peltier method is less efficient, I think the whole point of this video is precisely to avoid refrigerants.
There are a couple aspects to keep in mind. If you are exhausting out the window you are literally pulling the cooler air from the room and not just blowing it across the hot side but then blowing it outside. This means however small, you are also sucking the warm air from outside through cracks around the doors and windows by creating a negative pressure. This is a flaw or an oversight IMO, on even commercially made phase change compressor portable air conditioners. The better ones will recirculate the same air on the cooling side and have two exhaust hoses or ports, one for the intake to cool the hot side of the radiators and the other to then blow that heated air back outside, that is why air conditioners are placed in windows. Funny story I once helped a family that moved into our neighborhood, it was summer and their house rocking hot. They had a window air conditioner sitting on their kitchen table. The didn't understand the heat needs to vent outside the building the the cold needs to recirculate inside the house. I asked them where they expected the heat to go.... down the electrical wire? hahaha 😅 Another interesting thing you could theoretically do is stack peltiers in series and get a combined temperature differential. One thing that you would need to be careful though is if you cold side gets too cold and you begin to form frost on the cold radiator/heat sinks. If that happened, they will not be as cold to the air that blows across it, in reality the frost will act as an insulator and not allow the metal fins to absorb the heat from the room, so there is that limitation if you decide to stack peltier devices. I have been checking out these videos because I really want to get into sailing and this seems like an easier option, although possibly slightly more lossy power wise that phase change compressors. However it would be quieter for sure. My persinal idea is not to use air for the heat dissipation, at least not immediately or directly. If I am on a boat I would make a water heater by using a heat exchanger on the hot side and run it through a coil in an insulated tank, maybe just a large converted thermos/igloo style Liquid dispenser or even just a large plastic ice-chest like they use for camping. So the hot-side Peltier would go to a small heat exchanger block like what computer enthusiasts used to use for over-clocking. Then I would run that through the copper coil inside the water heater. If needed I could then follow up with an additional radiator (outside the cabin) to air cool the liquid before it makes its way back to the hot side of the peltier. Another cool aspect at sea with the high humidity is you could harvest the condensation and use that, maybe run it through a cheap filter like a Sawyer and even drink it if you wanted to. Plus as the air becomes dryer from you pulling the water out of it, your sweat can more efficiently cool your body so in a somewhat enclosed area you are even getting more bang for your buck. As solar becomes more prolific and energy dense batteries the norm there should be no problem producing enough by means of solar - photovoltaic to even run the system at a low setting thought the night.
Hi. In 2008 i bought the car Dacia Logan that had not AC. In 2009-2010 i developed this invention like i said in this video if you did not heard. Into that time it was not the idea anyware on the internet...
Good work. But as per my poor knowledge, we need to povide a lot of electric power supply in order to cool an average size room e.g 11 x 13 sqft. The heater that you are showing will be consuming under 300 watts as 20 dc amp x 12 volt =240 watts. I think it may work for a very smaller space like 6 x 4 sqft but will not be able to cool a normsl sized bedroom. We need to spend atlesdy 2000 watts or more of power to cool a room of an average size. Have you personally tried it to cool a bedroom? If so how long it took to cool room reasonsbly?
Without water cooling or some other liquid, this won't do much.Just evacuate the heat in the engine room of your car, where you put an additional radiator and 1 2 fans. You need to solve next how much power you need and if the car with running engine could supply it.Solutions exists, just make a calculus before to invest
hi; yes i told into the video it will need a good alternator; and also i told is a model/experiment; larger peltier and larger box it will do; water cooling is a good way to cool down peltier
GOOD JOB, I think if you put the heat side fans " not above the aluminum sink " but on the side of this sink to Heat escapes outside. this will make the other side of Peltier high performance.... the heat transfer from to side . that need to try to keep the hot side calm down. in this design you below the heat again upon the Peltier
You can buy (rather-expensive) machine tool control cabinets that use the Peltier Effect. As others have commented, you have to extract the transferred heat away from the conditioned space. The other issue, for something residential, is the number of thermocouples needed for effective cooling.
hello sir, any updates and upgrade for this design. it seems very logical but i'm not a electrician and don't know a bit about electric. i know it's to much to ask on what list of exact materials and hardwares to choose if want to make this. maybe on future video you could put a list off all the hardware, specs and circuit diagram for better understanding noob like me. i'm planning on doing this for my car and rooms, if this project are way more better on electricity efficiency compared to standard AC. thank you again or this great ideas and may your dad rest in peace for this wonderful and brilliant project. 👍👍👍
I did the same design with 4 peltiers and 2 big heatsinks. The temperature goes down and it gets cold. But once i turn on a fan and put it inside the temperature keeps going up very quick and its not cold anymore. Any solution??
hi; be patient! You talk non sense about the donate stuff; I respond after a long time when because my time is limited; make a video and post it here; a subscribe, was nice to be
Exactly. I've tried many variations of this and it is useless once you turn on the fan the peltier's cooling power proves so little that cooling doesn't happen.
Interesting, and informative the idea is excellent. It is east to see th person has learned English from USA constant use of ' Guys ' sorry about your father. You were obviously very close.
Try this. Chill water in an aluminum tank with a couple of peltiers. Pump chilled water through an evaporator. Blow air across the evaporator with a fan and make chilled air. You'll have a 12v air chiller, mini A/C.
@@iTechnologyReviews condensation is determined by humidity. In the summer, my humidity is 5%. Tank: 4" x 4" 12" x 1/4" thick Al tube with the ends closed up. 3 holes: filler, in, out. You can get heatsink by the foot. I figure 2 TECs on opposite sides, 2 TECs per 12" of HS. Thermostatically control the TEC devices for 34F. Use Al dryer duct to channel fan blown air over the HS if needed. Cork will be between the tank and HSs. What do you think?
would you please suggest peltier device may be in multiples effective enough to achieve a room temperature of about 10 degree celsius considering room size to be 15 feet /30 feet ? i am on to a project replacing my air conditioner . And will that be cost effective ? Your comment .
I was thinking the same. You can install 2 hose at the front and back to circulate the air inside tent. This is much quieter then a compressor. I am wondering how efficient is the pielter and how much power it will draw.
Peltiers are really inefficient as an heatpump as well as pewer generator . They are good for compact designs like car coolers . But as an home air conditioner i don't think so .
hi; not a bad idea but somewhere that heat must be outside the room or car for the heat to evacuate, and only the interior of the system must be into the car/room. subscribe

It is up to you to open your room and windows because it is not an aircon or you want to think of the hot side all the time. hi. the hairblower has 2 positions heat or normal air blow. is only on normal air room. it doesn t give heated air. i told this in the video, is just for the experiment, of course you will put another fan to circulate the air
I'm wondering how it can work with one side being hot and the other being cold, both in the same room?, it won't have much effect and, due to peltier low ratio efficiency, will rather heat the room than freeze it.
@@iTechnologyReviews Hi, thanks for your answer, but I rather don't understand your answer, as the peltier module has to be wether inside or outside, it cannot be "in between", so, if inside it will produce heat inside, if outside the tiny amount of cold will be much more hot when they arrive inside thru a vent that blow it from outside to inside.
In Englezantenrog data data viitoare pt ca asa e canalul.
It is very inefficient, true. But I have a classic mini, with very little amount of cold air needed to be cooled. Would that be enough to cool the airlet's say 5° under ambient ? I have a 70 amp alternator, i could draw 40amp continuous just for the module at around 14v, that would be about 600w available, would that be useful or just a waste of time ? i'm not expecting insane cooling performance, feeling 25 instead of 30 would be a success.
Hi. What you see it s a model/prototype. If you make it bigger is EFFICIENT 100% as long as you have a good alternator, good wiring and fuses. 70 alternator it s ok.

hi; but other devices usually have one or 2 peltiers that are at low amps;
hello sir, any updates and upgrade for this design. it seems very logical but i'm not a electrician and don't know a bit about electric. i know it's to much to ask on what list of exact materials and hardwares to choose if want to make this. maybe on future video you could put a list off all the hardware, specs and circuit diagram for better understanding noob like me. i'm planning on doing this for my car and rooms, if this project are way more better on electricity efficiency compared to standard AC. thank you again or this great ideas and may your dad rest in peace for this wonderful and brilliant project. 👍👍👍
Hi; if you don't know electric domain you should NOT do this; you can burn your car or your house! Seriously!
@@iTechnologyReviews duly noted sir. thank you for the warning. 👍👌
Great project.
Really good idea sir

I did the same design with 4 peltiers and 2 big heatsinks. The temperature goes down and it gets cold. But once i turn on a fan and put it inside the temperature keeps going up very quick and its not cold anymore. Any solution??
Why don't you answer my question??
Seems like you only reply to people who subscribe or donate to your channel which is not great.
hi; be patient!
Great buddy for discribe all the things thanks ❤️

Interesting, and informative the idea is excellent. It is east to see th person has learned English from USA constant use of ' Guys ' sorry about your father. You were obviously very close.
What if you use only one fan (the blue one) and some of that cold air is redirected to cool the heatsinks above ???
hi; interesting idea but i think you will not do anything; you will spin in a circle with no result; subscribe
Try this. Chill water in an aluminum tank with a couple of peltiers. Pump chilled water through an evaporator. Blow air across the evaporator with a fan and make chilled air. You'll have a 12v air chiller, mini A/C.
hi; it s a ok idea but you will have a lot of condens in your room right?
@@iTechnologyReviews condensation is determined by humidity. In the summer, my humidity is 5%. Tank: 4" x 4" 12" x 1/4" thick Al tube with the ends closed up. 3 holes: filler, in, out. You can get heatsink by the foot. I figure 2 TECs on opposite sides, 2 TECs per 12" of HS. Thermostatically control the TEC devices for 34F. Use Al dryer duct to channel fan blown air over the HS if needed. Cork will be between the tank and HSs. What do you think?
@@iTechnologyReviews Cool idea is to design a solar power system for it, because where there is heat there is usually sun.
You can put liquid refrigeration in the hot side of peltiers and send out the warm with radiator.
hi; i thought about this and i want to make another video; subscribe
would you please suggest peltier device may be in multiples effective enough to achieve a room temperature of about 10 degree celsius considering room size to be 15 feet /30 feet ? i am on to a project replacing my air conditioner . And will that be cost effective ? Your comment .
Amazing technique
Thank you. Subscribe
Perfect for camping in a tent in hot summer, assuming you have the electricity service.
I was thinking the same. You can install 2 hose at the front and back to circulate the air inside tent. This is much quieter then a compressor. I am wondering how efficient is the pielter and how much power it will draw.
Si in Română........salut ! Doresc si eu unul , chiar 2 bucăți . Mulțumesc
Peltiers are really inefficient as an heatpump as well as pewer generator . They are good for compact designs like car coolers . But as an home air conditioner i don't think so .
Very cool! What about put a water cooling system into warm side of peltiers?
hi; not a bad idea but somewhere that heat must be outside the room or car for the heat to evacuate, and only the interior of the system must be into the car/room. subscribe
@@iTechnologyReviews This is good for 8 ins spot cooling like pointing to your face and neck , sometimes it feels like an air cooler too.
It is up to you to open your room and windows because it is not an aircon or you want to think of the hot side all the time.
For better result ,connect it to a normal fan to extract the cool air to throw it further like 5 ft to circulate the room.
The more peltiers you install ,the cooler the room. Room can be cool around 28 degrees but can never
be like the real aircon 16 degrees.
But will help like a 8 ins spot cooling device at your face and neck.
Bro, keep exprimenting for fun and do not be too serious with it. It's just a toy to play to
pass time.
Have 2 beers and enjoy.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hi, thanks to you and your late father 👏👏👏.... but can you tell me someone idea how to put this systems in my car??
How many cubic feet can this cool down
What's the power consumption like?
27 amps in this model... At 14 volts.
I am the 101 liker and 101 number is lucky number for Indian's.
Why?
25*. Ofcourse your going to get ice... Try it in California 106*. I'll Just stick with $2.69 block of ice, which will last 4 hours. In a swap cooler. ... I call it, Ice Cube Swap Cooler in 106* temperatures California.
take another fan for the outflow not a hair blower.and catch that condens for free water.
hi. the hairblower has 2 positions heat or normal air blow. is only on normal air room. it doesn t give heated air. i told this in the video, is just for the experiment, of course you will put another fan to circulate the air
Nice🌹
Small refrigerator consumes maximum 40w
It gets cold well.
I'm wondering how it can work with one side being hot and the other being cold, both in the same room?, it won't have much effect and, due to peltier low ratio efficiency, will rather heat the room than freeze it.
Hi. I told into the video the fans must be out side a window! The other part inside! Subscribe
Bravo, baiatu'!
Ms fain!
coud this be used with the bajaj qute
hi; if the alternator is 70 amps, i think so; use 4 x 9,10 amps peltier; put only the heat fans outside; subscribe
In Englezantenrog data data viitoare pt ca asa e canalul.
Nice !!
Please can I have more information? If there is a project report Any additional information
You have to repeat with more details about components, assembly, final frame and installation, availability of components, where to purchase with documentd discribtions
this method for what AC sir.. where is the cooling blower.. i don’t see it
Hi. Just an experiment. The hair dryer was as the blower.
🤔Put the whole thing on the roof of the caravan and just turn it around in winter 😜
You can do this. It also heats up
👍🏻🥰💞
This is funny for a kid's project, but i cannot see how can this be power efficient enough for normal usage.
Hi. I told in the video, you can make it bigger, larger parts.
hi; i believe it does. But it's at 12-14volts this is the advantage for mounting to a car! Subscribe
@@iTechnologyReviews I already subscribed, I was just thinking of making another A/C in my house :D

I built a water chiller & air conditioner…my device for each unit uses 62 watts DC …reverse polarity and you have a heater…my units are much larger….
hi; yes i told into the video to make one more larger; this is just a prototype/small scale model
Good

Where to get reliable peltier in india?. I got fake one not ok.
Hi. For help or other information use the THANKS button in the video, and donate for supporting our channel. Thanks for understanding. Have a nice day!
What did he explain though?..
There's a new cheaper way, check my prototype. It requires an air to air heatexchanger, a water evaporator and 3 fans.
Hi. If is not freon or Peltier there is no way to obtain these low temps. Is just a fan. Subscribe
@@iTechnologyReviews It's a tree effect. Ever wondered why there's cold in forest even in hot summers? As water evaporates this releases coldness. It will not replace a fridge is true, but it does cool quite cool especially with a heatexchanger that keeps the moist air away. This is the cheapest way to cool your room.
👍👌
HI I WANT TO CREATE BIG PC CASE WITH PELTIER COOLING JUST LIKE :AIR CONDITIONER
BUT FOR PC CASE I WANT TO COOL PC CASE AND PROCESSOR AND GPU
AND SSD AND RAM AND ALL INSIDE WITH A LOT OF CHIPSET OF PELTIER ok
sound interesting, but i think it will not help because you have to cure the Cause not the effect; i'm meaning the heat from your PC case must be evacuated by fans; and if it gathers a lot of heat then you have to go to water cooling; i don't think it will help you the peltier making an ac for you PC; time and money for nothing you will see
my father was truck drivver 42 c so decide this devise made for my father
Hi. Great
, Give me link with the result
@@iTechnologyReviews ok sir
Thank you for your good and interesting video.
I know nothing about all this, but I heard that peltier has a very bad efficiency.
Sale one for my car I need some ac while it’s charging the car turns off it’s ac for some reason
hi; i can not sell this; this is a project i worked with my late father
@@iTechnologyReviews can u sell some of the parts or make a new one little smaller then sell it? Does it work well

i make... but no cooling..
12v how may get Amps it's gets
Apsulotly amijing video
My car battery down in this process
In car I put truk battery my truck battery also down now
This uses an obscene amount of electricity
hi; yes....
How much?
I asked a question and you been replying to other people but not my question? Do i need to subscribe or donate to your channel for you to reply to my question 🤔
hi; i don't see in this video other comment, then this one...
Just buy an air con
You did not get the idea! You did not watch the entire video. I have 2 air conditioners one wich is premium one. This is an experiment for those who can not afford an air conditioner and it work also in cars and it had been made for a car specially! Experiment, project.
In memory of my Dead. not being rude exactly, but I wonder if thats where the word Dad comes from?
not work as a ac its useless
open your eyes because it's working 100% but it's an experiment, a model for now; like i told in the video, bigger parts = more air flow, cold air
Just buy from the factory Wasting your time
Do you know something called diy? Doing diy stuff is much more fun
