Thank you for showing the leaf shapes of the figs. It's very helpful. I've been trying to identify a couple of different figs that have been passed down from my father's uncle and every little bit of identifiers is so helpful. No success yet, but I'll keep trying

My White Kadota checks out leafwise. I noticed Darker Green foliage on two plants one is White Kadota that seems to match and also Panache aka Bordissot Blanca Rimada... maybe a trait for hotter climates or in general they seem to stand out because of it.. I had Peter's Honey with fruits almost full sun but only 3 gallon pot and everything fell off twice... first the fruits and then the leaves and fruit but already pushing...

My brown turkey fig seemed to have died, Just a stick in the pot, but now its exploded with leaves and looking great. Next thing it to get some nice tomatoes growing, I think it was too cold before and they didn't like it. I am in Western Australia

It hurts to hear someone rate the Kadota a 5 out of 10. I feel the need to defend it here.
Kadota/Dotatto is one of the more intensely flavored honey figs, and generally my favorite honey fig, IF it is grown in the correct climate. I grew up eating them while visiting my grandparents' house in Fresno CA. Believe me when I say, the location of growing and ripening this variety is the deciding factor in its flavor. Kadota NEEDS a dry, hot climate, it is bred for it. You are not getting its best flavor, growing it in a humid, wet-summer 7a climate. But you've probably already figured that out. ☺
Please make your way out to California in August, and try a Kadota here. Your opinion will change. It has a LOT of figgy flavor as well as honey sweetness. Nothing like applesauce!

Is kadota same as white kadota? Our white kadota was green skin rather than yellow...maybe different?

I've been shopping around for the green one lol almost bought another tissue culture. That's helpful to know that it makes red flesh in some climates but all I can remember is the fruit punch notes from the fig newton so I'm still looking.
Maybe you should cover fruit punch flavored figs Ross?

Will you explain to us all, why there are different names for the same fig? Is it to hype a “new fig” and sell more?
Perhaps you could compile a listing of all the synonyms of each different fig?
If not for you, I would have bought the same fig for my collection, several times🤦‍♀️

sometimes the same variety makes it and gets grown all around the Earth then picks up its own name by the locals
