Released just after my 18th birthday, I went out and bought this LP --- and even at the time, I was thinking, "why am I buying this old people's album,' but the songs on the record were just phenomenal and the musicianship was just so delightful to the ear and to hear. Clarke on the upright bass and George on the 88s! But back in the 80s, seeing the video of the song was darn near next to impossible --- so LONG LIVE THE TUBE! #facts #each1teach1

The Sunday evenings, the fun we used to share
Looking through the memories in my mind
Since I've laughed and cried and thought it over
Now I realize that it's never over, it's only set aside
Oh it's you, sweet baby
I will never be free from your embrace, sweet baby
Only hoping it's not too late to try again
It's you, sweet baby
Ever lost and captured by your smile, sweet baby
I will always be right there by your side
Right by your side
Lying here alone I'm dreaming
My mind keeps wandering, my thoughts are only you
Looking through the memories in my mind
How could love so real have turned so empty
I just keep wondering why
Will I ever find the love we shared together, you and I
Girl it's you, sweet baby
Though we had such a long hard road to climb, sweet baby
Only hoping it's not too late to try again
It's you, sweet baby
Won't you try belivin what i say, sweet baby
I will always be right there by your side

I KNOW 😊😊
I'm the same way
Released just after my 18th birthday, I went out and bought this LP --- and even at the time, I was thinking, "why am I buying this old people's album,' but the songs on the record were just phenomenal and the musicianship was just so delightful to the ear and to hear. Clarke on the upright bass and George on the 88s! But back in the 80s, seeing the video of the song was darn near next to impossible --- so LONG LIVE THE TUBE!

We're fortunate we know such a beautiful song like this. Hope more than millions get to discover this song because it's worth it.
Classic ballad, & classic ballads last forever. Beautiful collaboration, such pretty piano. Underrated song that shoulda been a bigger hit.
Music of my childhood. George Duke is the man.
Hello how are you doing today I hope you have a great and beautiful day today and my name is Winton Moore and how is the weather over there

With tears in my eyes.. this song will forever remind me of my high school sweetheart.. it was a turbulent 32 year ride but wouldn’t trade my experience with him for the world😔😔
💖This masterpiece will always be among my favorite love ❤️ songs! I remember exactly where I was when it was released in 1981. It only took 1 listen, and I fell in love!!

Jerry Washington I just wished I could bring back all my family & friends who were integral to my upbringing and just have a formal appreciation dinner and a toast prior to their untimely demise. Which is why you cannot forget to tell anybody that you love them because you just may not get that opportunity........
Jerry Washington Me. Too.
Mr. Avery I wish I could go back in time and really appreciate my mom more, and all that it took to raise us and thank her

Hello how are you doing today I hope you have a great and beautiful day today and my name is Winton Moore and how is the weather over there
This is really great music! Why can't they make this kind of music nowadays? ❤❤❤
record companies are GREEDY ! keeping ignorant , ignorant ! "I wish them could come back once more" _Stevie Wonder
We will never see this type of music again. Thank God we can revisit this when we need to. ❤❤
@@MakeupbyjakkiTVHello how are you doing today I hope you have a great and beautiful day today and my name is Winton Moore and how is the weather over there
Cos musicians now want instant success. Using jus 4 chords to make music!! Some songs of eg Stevie wonder intro alone has 6 power jazz chords!!! U get the idea??
R.I.P. George Duke who died from Lymphocytic Lukemia on August 5, 2013 at 67.
😔😢
😢😭
perpetual61 Thanks for the Bio- information!!
George Duke die? não sabia?
What a pity...😥
As a lover of beautiful LYRICS ...All I can say is
Woooooo...never tired at all...59 years old and rocking it as I did back then at Kutztown State College...1981!!!
I am both equally appreciative of and humbled by UA-cam. There was so much good music made in the 70's & 80's that would've been lost by the wayside otherwise. This is on vinyl somewhere in somebody's grandma's attic and they have no idea. Sad to think that but at least we have UA-cam. Thank you much.
When a love song was ACTUALLY about love and not about raunchy sex.
RS is what all songs r about these days
Jan.12th: Happy birthday R&B-Jazz-Soul-Funk Singer-Musician-Keyboardist, Composer-Musical Director-Arranger George Duke (1946-2013) Thank you and God bless. RIP Genius. Thanks for the upload, Blessings

I remember having this. I can't remember if it was 8 track or cassette. I bought it for the song louie louie.
I was riding the subway and this song jumped in my head and once I got home I played it on tube and did not know George duke and Stanley Clarke sung this song. This is a classic
Total classic, I was 14 when this came out. I heard it on the radio! Timeless classic and between George Duke on piano and lead vocals, Stanley Clarke on bass and backup vocals, the gentle violin and drums. I still get the chills of this beautiful love song. Both George Duke and Stanley Clarke wrote this song. George Duke composed music. My daughters, nieces and nephews I exposed them to all genres of music, my siblings and myself always play this at family functions. God rest your Soul George Duke ( you made all of us so happy).🙏❤️🎶🎹🎸
This is one of the most ICONIC SONGS EVER WRITTEN; by two of the Greatest Jazz musicians as A collaborative effort! And This song always brings a tear to my eyes everytime I hear it! RIP GEORGE DUKE! WE MISS U!😞♥🙏🇵🇷
Amen

A different day and time. Those were much better days. Good memories, didn't realize how much I would miss them.
This beautiful song takes me back to being 9 years old and listening to it on FM 98 WJLB out of Detroit. I am so glad I found it again, thank you for it. ❤
Wow what a great song!!!!!!.......why, why doesn't anyone make great music like this anymore? Love it!!!!!!
a song like this is from the heart. He lost a special woman. this song is of love and pain
They don't because it is too easy and cheap to make bank on today's music. It is all about the dollah, dollah bills, y'all...
Nobody has the talent to do it! Good music has to come from within the soul, a God giving thing otherwise, people reject it! Or leave it out. So be it.
