I am 65. I saw the Allman Bros. in concert so many times in the seventies I lost count. Magic everytime. Sometimes they would pass around a joint while playing. They were amazing high or not.
Same here…first time original line up with Duane and Barry, last time with Greg in the smallest of theaters West Hampton… maybe 10-11 times in all…really just can’t remember…anything but the music…play on forever.
Would have LOVED to see them WITH DUANE but U NFORtuanetly Never got the chance but they were SUPER❤
Would have LOVED to see Live AT FILMORE EAST
I remember when "Laidback" came out...it was the album that you played over and over and remained on your play list for good times.
Although the video is grainy, this version of this song will always be my favorite. Tears me up every time now knowing that we've lost so many of the musicians here.
What a Great song..............What a Great singer...........What a Musician.......What a Great Band......One of the Best
I saw this tour in 1974 in Durham, NC. Full orchestra. BB King opened. Incredible show! What a song.
Met Gregg in '87 at Stone Pony in NJ. Had a few beers and shots with him during intermission. He said this was his favorite composition. Melissa #2
grew up listening to Allman Brothers. This is One of my favs. Will miss you Greg
I saw Gregg and his band around this time and he was just amazing. This is a beautiful composition, one of his best songs ever, and powerfully performed here....
He likes it too...he says it took him 3 years to complete it...it's a really, really great tune and the words rival those of any famous American writer....He was just so innovative, creative, talented, handsome, cool and, when I was around him, he was always a gentleman....He has so many good and great ballads, including Oncoming Traffic, Cross to Bear, Melissa, Multi colored lady, Dreams, Whipping post....all his, music and words....Ha! What about that man....? Duane was a genius too....Look all he squeezed into 24 years....! Nothing short of amazing....
@@judygirl3102 I agree with you 100 miles an hour girl! The legacy these beautiful men left behind is a beautiful one and even though I did not get the opportunity to meet either of them, I miss them terribly. That's what they've done to me! This song and so many others, as you mentioned, have left a mark on my soul. I can't ever get enough.
Gregg's organ playing and voice are truly amazing.
This is the Gregg I remember most vividly...
The Toler Brothers are missed here in New Orleans , And I know the fans back in Florida are missing them . They left us some music that will live forever . Thank's "Dangerous Dan" and David Toler. Rock the Heaven's !
Really sweet of you to honor them...so talented and to die so young of natural causes....heart breaking...Most people ask "who is that on Guitar?" Drummers are sadly ignored always...Butch Trucks, RIP, but, hell! What a crying shame....He was one of the original six....The way I see it is, before you blow your brains out, you can join the Hare Krishnas...kind of the same thing...but, without the drama. Such a shame....any which way, you're right...there bones are resting, but they are 'playing up a storm...' in heaven (lousy pun intended).
@@judygirl3102 natural causes? Do your homework. They both had incurable illnesses. ( a different illness each)
Dan Toler will be seriously missed...great tone and creative riffs R.I.P. :(
Miss this man. My favorite GA song. RIP. Your music lives on. ❤️
I was someone's queen of hearts. Even after I left him, 10 yrs of stalking later, he followed me home and told me that nobody in his home was allowed to speak when he played it. I think that's so sad...and sweet. He loved me for the rest of his life. I still love him. My reasons for leaving were valid. But, the pain was no less intense. 💘
Often music, especially Gregg Allman songs, done either by his band or the ABBs band, rake up very heavy memories. The music and lyrics are so strong, that emotions stir. It sounds like you are reconciling a very difficult time. This is as good a place as any to get what ails you off of your chest. I was stalked by two men who claimed to love me...not at the same time. I swear I did not lead them on...I was even living with a man I loved. Both men committed a successful suicide. I did and do not feel responsible, as I know for certain, that when their fascination with me began, I did not even know they existed. Sure, we went to the same High School, but they graduated as I came in...They stalked my parents in order to get close to me...it was frightening. I turned out tragically. I am still coming to terms with it and it was over 2 decades ago....my go to song is Gregg Allman's It Ain't No Use. check it out...you may like it. My queen of hearts is my ninety year old mother.
what a voice this man has....
Wasn't even alive when this was recorded, and I can still enjoy it almost like being there. What a time we live in.
Awesomeness!! Fantastic voice!!!
RIP and thanks for the beautiful music over all those years. Back with Duane and Berry again …

The Road Goes On Forever!🎼🎹🎤🎸🎶🍄🍄🍑
Beautiful,,,
Such a bluesy, sultry and sexy song!
David "Frankie" Toler June 28, 1951 - June 4, 2011
One of the all time greatest drummers and a true friend.
Jim Essery (Jimbo) on the harp, passed away yesterday afternoon (05/18/2016), in St. Augustine, Florida, at the age of 61, after a lengthy illness.
thanks for sharing this with us here! Greg's emotion will never faulter.
I love the guitar solo at 5:50! Clean and crisp. Great talent!
I could have been the camera...could barely take my eyes off of Gregg!♥️🍄🍑✌️♾
Great live version but I think the studio version it is so slick and beautifully produced and is one of the greatest recordings ever. Totally missed the saxophone too
love this tune...
❤❤❤❤❤ Awesome in concert. Rest Easy Midnight Rider 😢
Used to hitchhike from Vt to Ma to see my Gf and would sing this song at out loud waiting at the exit for the next ride. great times
I got goose bumps.
A fine drummer, a great Southern Rocker, and a true gentleman.
R.I.P. Gregg Allman
he passed the day before i turned 60. should have celebrated both of our lives. didn't even go out side.
Saw him in 75 in Providence RI. I love this song. Thank you.
oh man am i loving this or what!!!
RIP Gregg Allman 5/27/2017
Wish the audio was better. I love this song.
I was there. Hard to watch these old memories. 😢
I like it when the person who posts the video puts all the information with it like this person did, yet people still comment, “does any know when and where this show was videoed?” Read the freakin’ description section...duh!
This happens to be an excellent uploader. I subscribe to bb and get notified every time a new upload or a change is made. Believe me, the uploader makes all the difference...some you can't even trust....they give misinformation.
"and everyday seems like sunday" i really miss you pa!
This song saved my life and killed me at the same time.
Your comments always move me so.....I know about tough times, and I know that this music is part of what I know...I get you....
you cant be that fucked up and perform like that unless you where an absolute master what a talent
Functioning addict. They are everywhere
I am so glad the music remains
August 18 1982 New Orleans Saenger theater
Jim Essery on the harmonica! I think I've actually said that on stage....or maybe I was still too shy at the time. He shure gave me my first gig though. You should hear him sing!
I do love this music and the whole band,
I saw them on Miami beach for WSHE concert Awesome experience
From a personal point of view, if Charles is anything like his father then we're all lucky. Chaz is one of the most kind and honest sorts of person I have ever had the pleasure to know and spend time with. Don't get me wrong, the man has his own ideas but he's always willing to listen to others and engage/produce great conversation. I looked forward to seeing him and chatting when we were sharing a place with another friend.
He wrote a pretty ass song with queen of hearts.
RIP Dan
Legend Live !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I woz there both nights🍄✌🍄✌
god bless u dan,i gald too see u here,i kno gregg have u by his side.golden angles ride
Burt Englesman on bass-none better!!
I wish the original version would stay on youtube.
From Laid Back? Why wouldn't it? It is 9 years later, Gregg, and Butch Trucks have died...but, there are a hundred versions of this song, INCLUDING the original version....
Its here. I have it posted. On this very group.
what a song
Rest in peace Jimbo!!
@erinXevacuation ......that's because it is a Gregg Allman song, not an Allman Bros song!!! A bit different, shows his growth as it is still bluesy but also contains some jazz phrasing in it!
I can't question how seeing this happened after mentioning this song elsewhere here (british guitarist...) but thankful it did. Thank You, you tube!! I Loved this vid !
🙏🏾💜
Great Time
i was searching for a song that starts with the letter Q. i found it impossible. then i remembered how wicked the allman brothers are. (:
Nice! :)
Haha awesome!
AllusCats knows his shit, completely agree with both comments.
YEAH CHARLES TRIPPY!!!
Good lookin' Man.

レイド・バックの勇者、グレッグ・オールマン~必殺のキラー曲♥ハートのクイーン♛~やるせなく漂うムーディ、ジャジーモード!~あの強力2枚組ライヴが懐し!
ctfxc ftw!!!
CHAZ TRIPPY
Okay, so all you all got on your computers/phones, whatever, at the same time 9 years ago and chatted here on UA-cam? How incredibly cool....!!
A painful song that I keep going back to. Laid Back was such an amazing album.
i think he said charles trippy not chaz trippy
Trippy Sr.
does anyone know where and when this was taped?
August 18, 1982, Saenger Theater...Oh BB6 got to ya, and great says...a warm south new orleans wind..so....it says above...
CTFxC for the win
Shut up, Charles. You're going to discover time travel in a few years and travel back in time. Having trained on your Rockband drums, you will rock this show and become your own father! He is sporting a mustache to cover it!
Ask him! It's you in a few years, he's just afraid to tell you the truth!
@SuperQueenLori Before digital
ctfxc awesomeness
this song is from the Allman Brother Band??
Gregg Allman wrote it, words and music. It is from the album Laid Back, and incredible album in which ever song is GREAT...it came out soon after Duane's tragic death....you're kidding, though, right?
CTFxC for the win!!! go charles woho!!!!
b.t.
This starts out a lot like Gary Moore's song, "Still got the blues".
"Charles Trippy" on the bongos... Charles plays the bongo's???? I knw it's PAPPA Trippy.
Charles DAD!!!!!!
gaspo2180 the song is not about Cher, was written well before her.
Rusty Wellons i think its about wife #2 janice. she was the wife between Shelly (devons mom) and cher (elijah blues mom). janices brother was ron blair was bass player with tom petty
I do not believe it is about either or any of his wives. He worked on this song for 3 years. He perfected it in 1974. It is simply about setting limits...how to start and when to stop....
Charles' dad!
